Am I the only one disgruntled by the nearly 100% increase in the cost of Wow Coconut Toffee?  It used to be $4.59 on mrsnuff.com, went out of stock temporarily, and came back in stock at $8.99.  It’s a similar price on other websites too.  The mrsnuff.com rep that I contacted said that their supplier has set the new higher price.  I love this snuff but am put off by the price, have ordered some WoS Coconut and SG Toffee and am going to experiment with my own blend.

I think the Wow Coconut Toffee has joined the ranks of another Dholakia “premium priced” snuff, Dholakia Swiss Chocolate, which is 9.99.  Premium pricing doesn’t mean that the product is any more expensive to manufacture; in this case it seems more like a profit grab to take advantage of a certain demand.  Of course a company can choose whatever price they want for their product, but it’s a huge turn off for me. 

Well, a profit grab only works if people buy it. If it’s such a turn off like it seems to be in this thread, that’s gotta hurt consumers, producers and retailers. Wonder why there’s such a sudden increase.

@n9inchnails, what ratio of CT/Grunt?

I just keep adding little pinches until I get it where I want it.  You want just a hint of coconut in the backround and CT is pretty potent so it doesn’t take much.

Dholakia is all over on price, I picked up a pound of really good snuff (their toast) for 9 bucks total a few months ago. I say go forward with your blending idea in the meantime it might come down again if no bites at the higher price.

Equal parts Samuel Gawith Toffee, WoS Coconut, and Wow American Caramel makes a nice substitute for Wow Coconut Toffee and is only half the cost.
