Hypothetically speaking if a synthetic or genetically modified crop of tobacco was created without carcinogens, would you use it instead of the tobacco we know today? The synthetic tobacco would not smell or taste like real tobacco, though the product would have the same ratios of alkaloids and nicotine to the natural plant.
I would use it maybe like how I’d use a herbal snuff. When I want to give tobacco snuff a break. Replacement to the original tobacco snuff…? No way.
Are you researching such a substance?
Hello again Aamon
I love the smell of tobacco.
If the smell was to be left out of the tobacco, you could save all of the trouble that the botanists and geneticists would have to go through breeding the new plants. You just put a nicotine patch up each nostril. It would be cleaner, back drip free and your nose blowing hanky would be tidy and look like a stamp album.
Clever question, but I think the product would be as popular the new EEC Snuff trading rules.
I don’t think I would. I love the different scents of the tobacco. I never as a habit smoked cigarettes, except non filters, camel, Pall Mall, Chesterfield and RYO. My best habit was cigars. I always bought 4 or 5 of a brand. I enjoyed the different taste of the tobacco. This is the same thing I have with snuff. All the different scents and grinds I never get tired of moving from one snuff to another.
Probably would if I had a artificial nose or set of fake lungs.
I would rather focus on Healthy Bacon! And Cheese! God knows that would make a good snuff, Nobody tell Roderick!
Might try it out of curiosity.
I think there’s enough genetically mutilated offerings in the world without creating new ones. We don’t really understand the consequences of the one’s we’ve already created. Aside from that, if there’s any chance I’ll get hooked into smoking 30+ a day and becoming a slave to the product like I did before, then screw that!!! It took me 25 years to get that monkey off my back, and I ain’t going back down that path just because a lower cancer version becomes available.
I think something like this would be fine for heavily perfumed/mentholated snuff, but I love a good tobacco base.
If the tobacco stayed the same (minus carcinogens), I’d be all over a product like that. I love tobacco, but if we could find a way to make tobacco healthier without losing the benefits (smell/flavor/etc) I think it would be foolish to not pursue that as an alternative. Snuff is already a form of harm reduction, and I have no regrets using snuff, but healthy is always better.
No. And I already have cancer. Why risk getting some other GMO disease that may creep up down the road.
But how else are we going to start the Zombie apocalypse? Fast Zombies too, Please, I do not want to suffer!
Give me slow zombies, slow and stupid so I can Kill Bill it through hoards like a one man army!
