Gettin the snuffs mentioned in the title directly from sharrowmills. What to expect? Ive heard good of english menthol and feel I must try it. Are they gonna be as foul and nasty, not to mention dry and dusty as many other WoSes? Could just be bad experience with a dealer though… Is it always fresh when ordered directly?
Not that big a fan of Super Menthol myself, but then again the vast majority of menthol snuffs leave me quaking with fear - just don’t find them pleasurable. But because snuff-taking is such a meat-or-poison thing, you may well love it. Honey Menthol on the other hand is absolutely gorgeous - great combination and the menthol won’t blow you to bits. I can only tell you from my own experience, but whenever I’ve ordered direct from WoS, the snuff’s been in great shape on arrival.
@Vostok Lovely. Thanks for the reply.
how is the honey scent? i might add some to my order, because i fancy a weaker menthol. im bored of the odd scent and camphor in sg zip now.
@Firestarter0 Personally I love it. I’m not a big fan of the more “pure” menthol snuffs as I’ve explained - I like the menthol to be in combination with something else. Again that’s just me and people’s tastes differ. But the honey scent in Honey Menthol is really nice - I fell in love with it as soon as I tried it. Nice and “warm”. If you order some you may find the snuff a bit sticky, as I did - this is no problem, as long as you’ve got something you can use to “powder” the snuff, if you see what I mean. It’s just down to the ingredients. The honey scent is pronounced but not overpowering - to me there’s a great balance between it and the menthol. From my own point of view, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough - in fact, this conversation is going to make me get that snuff out and stick my snout in it once again!! If you decide to get some, I hope you enjoy it as much I as I do.
@Vostok How are they both in moisture, grind size, strength in nic and menthol, easy of taking etc?
ease*
Super Menthol is moist but not overly-so, fine-ground (not to Indian snuff standard - more “typical” British snuff standard). Difficult to say about vitamin N cos I never notice it much in menthols cos the menthol’s knocking me about, but I’d say average. Strong menthol hit as you’d expect from the name, not Hedges L260 standard but makes my eyes water. Very “clear” menthol. Honey Menthol a lot more in moistness although I have to say mine is solid in the tin and has to be scraped out - no problem with that, it breaks up fine, you just need something to break it up and pulverise it with. Menthol isn’t overpowering - comes across as the “front-note” scent, which then settles down into the warm glow of the honey. Must say it clears my nose out pretty good, but not unpleasantly.
Thanks a lot, @Vostok . Cant wait till it arrives
In my humble opinion wos snuffs have always seemed weak in the vitamin N dept. But I have only tried tom buck and crumbs of comfort.
