Here’s a snuff that doesn’t get mentioned too often, but is one I LOVE. It’s dark, medium-coarse, rich, heady, good nic hit, great nosefeel, amazing flavour…what’s not to like? It’s definitely a pinching snuff for me, it’s just the right texture to grab a hefty pinch and honk it on up-it seems just the right weight to never sail past the point of no return into the sinuses, too. There is literally nothing I dislike about this lovely snuff…are there any other Best Dark lovers out there?

J

Here, here!

J

Glad I’m not alone, @juxtaposer! It’s the best of all the WoS creations in my collection, by a mile. In fact, having revelled in some Abraxas this morning (as I probably will all day), I think it’s time for a pinch of Best Dark to change things up a little…I’ve very nearly finished my tin, but there’s two or three pinches left so all is not lost!

J

@vathek I haven’t tried either of those, I’ll put them on my shopping list!

M

I love it. It is quite remarkable, and when I’m in the mood for it it is an all day affair.

T

I like best dark. Sometimes its a bit too clogging for me and I need to go with something like Tom Buck or Best SP

J

@matsnuffs I’m the same, I’m not averse to an all-day Best Darkfest, it’s a snuff I never tire of. It was my first dark snuff, and I must admit I wasn’t sure at first pinch…It really seems to be a snuff that reveals its true charms with a heftier pinch though, and second time around I took a generous noseful of it, and *BAM* there was the joy…one snuff I couldn’t imagine being without.

J

@Transistor that’s interesting, I’ve not had clogging with BD but everyone’s nose reacts differently I guess. I can imagine it being a clogging snuff, but it’s yet to have that effect on me.

T

@jinder sorry maybe not clogging but runny for sure

J

Ah yes indeed, I’ve had it cause running a few times, it seems the richness does that-I have the same problem with Schmalzlers.

One of my favorite snuff practices is to chase a hit of W.E. Garrett Scotch with a hit of Best Dark. For whatever reason, that combo is just so effin delightful for me.

G

@Jinder -I like Best Dark of course, but,if you enjoy this type of snuff, you should do whith WoS\\Bruswick.Here, this is question of orange in equal proportion than mentholated in B.Dark.

P

I’ve just opened my first tin this week and I find Best Dark to be quite nice as a slight change of pace to Tom Buck. In the fullness of time (once I use up another 225 gm. of the Tom Buck on my shelf) I might come to love it more;-)

J

@Pennanngalan I never expected it to become a firm favourite when I first tried it, but it does grow on you a great deal…I don’t know if it’ll ever replace Tom Buck in your affections (everyone seems to love TB, I’m going to buy some from my local snuff emporium today and see what all the fuss is about!), but it’s a delicious alternative. @Gandalf, I need to try Brunswick and Burgundy, both come highly recommended!

G

I was thinking that with two bulks, one of Brunswick, one of the perfumed Burgundy,I should do well -).

J

I think those two sound like excellent bulk choices!!

P

@Jinder - Best Dark could easily replace Tom Buck in my affections…I find the base tobacco to be a better fit for my tastes. I just have a goodly amount of Tom Buck to use first (silly me, making a bulk purchase with so little snuff experiance).

J

@pennanngalan I tried to buy myself some Tom Buck yesterday but my local snuff stockists were shut (on a Thursday! The joys of small-town life), so will try again today. I believe they only have Queens Extra Strong, but I’m reliably informed it’s identical to Tom Buck but under a different name (an old regional quirk I believe, Tom Buck was marketed up north, QES down south), so will go and pick some up today. I love the base tobacco in Best Dark, it’s glorious. I’m very excited to try Brunswick and Burgundy, I’m hoping my local guy has at least one of those in stock so I can partake!

N

My tin of Best Dark was literally corroded shut and when I finally got it open only to discover the snuff inside was bone dry sand

J

I bought some Burgundy and Brunswick today, I liked the Brunswick but found the orange essence made my nose sting a bit-a super easy snuff to take though, as you said @vathek it’s a slightly coarser grind than BD. Burgundy is up next, I’m looking forward to that-I’m currently LOVING the noseful of Kendal Brown I’ve got in at the moment-lovely snuff.
