Well my first introduction to oral tobacco, Makla Africaine just made me puke! Damn ths stuff is strong.
Yep, ain’t no joke. Did you make portions w/cut up teabags? It helps alot.
Yep, tried both ways, with and without tea bags. I think I’ll only be using makla once or twice a day, it’s so strong, it makes me feel wobbly!
Girl!
Girl? I believe the politicaly correct term is sissy
LMFAO! First time any nicotine product has made me chunder.
Chunder? Girl!
Way to start, with the big guns and all. That’ll teach you.
Had a bit of a Makla binge tonight. No chundering but I was high as a kite. Could barely walk. Weird how the nicotine effect feels totally different to that of cigars, cigs, pipes and snuff.
Makes sense. Bruton gives me a lovely head rush, but doesn’t knock me out. Never got much of a buzz from cigs except maybe the first cig of the day.
WobblyWabbit
Silly Wabbit,Makla is for men.
Here in Missouri I used to work at a car dealership with a young pup who cut tobacco (burly ) and chewed it green, From what he told me, would light you up big time. Being from near chicago, we never grew it up there. But lord knows…I aint stupid enough to find out chewing green. I hear if you go into the fields to pick it after a rain, or heavy dew, just the dampness getting on your skin will make you sick as all get out. Not for me, so I shall avoid this Makla stuff…
@mustangii it certainly is. I think I’m going to wear frocks from now on and apply for a sex change
Don’t feel too bad. Everyone has their moment. Mine happened when I was about 6-7 years old and my Father saw I had an interest in tobacco. He let me chew on a green twist of Burley from a relative’s barn.
I didn’t do much the rest of the day, haha!
Mine happened when I was 12. The horse I was riding got stung by a yellow jacket and started bucking. My balls impacted the pommel and I swallowed an entire chew of Red Man. I recovered from the impact with the pommel long before I recovered from swallowing the chew…
Just had a big plug of Makla Africaine and it knocked me out for the last couple of hours. Would never have thought a tobacco product could have such a major effect. I’ll be buying more Makla as my local tobacconist stocks the whole range. My dad also made me smoke a cigarette when I was about 6. Can’t remember the effect it had on me though.
Incredible. I suspect it is stronger than any chew I have had.
Why does Makla knock me out? What with nicotine being a stimulant I would expect the opposite effect but it knocks me out every time. I don’t get it.
Oscar, you should try Skruf Stark los…
Correct me if I’m wrong but I get the impression Swedish/US snus is much less potent than Makla? Have had to put the Makla away. I’ve been asleep nearly all day. Time for some Bruton, see if that wakes me up.
You are correct. US Snus is not worth getting. The dips and chew is fine. But for Snus Swedish and Danish.
@OscarWabbit, you are correct most snus is less powerful than Makla, per gram, but the newer super high nicotine snus is getting close. Odens Extreme and Thunder Raw are pretty potent, not Makla level yet, but approaching. Makla didn’t make me ill but I can feel the nicotine, which is rare for me anymore.
@Oscar yes, but safer
I might have to try some, I use Oden’s extreme, at 22mg of nicotine it’s one of the strongest snus out there. I don’t get any nic hit from it. guess all those years using Copenhagen built up a resistance.
edm
Generally speaking nicotine at lower doses is a stimulant, at higher doses a depressant.
@OscarWabbit Same thing happens to me. During my time off from school, I’ll sit in the truck and continually snuff. By the time the next class comes around, I’m dog tired.
Be careful about chasing dragons. I am firmly convinced that I am more nicotine dependent since giving up cigarettes by all of the “experiments” I’ve done since coming here.
I wouldn’t mind getting some makla again though!
Makla is strong but i have concerns regarding my tooth health, so i better use portion snus.
Makla is really strong, small pinch is enough. Red one, Bouhlel Bentchicou Rouge, also has clear laxative effect. Anyway, maklas are economical and handy. No girly flavours there but there are plenty other types of tobacco for that.
Is that that indian stuff? My friend said an Indian looking guy went into his place of work just as he was finishing a cigarette, the indian guy said if you like smoking try this and handed him a little pouch of this powder with hindi looking writing. after trying it he said his whole face went numb and he had an incredible buzz
@Vito445:LMAO. That sounds like something similar to snuff but with a difrerent active ingredient
Just tried the nasal Makla Neffa Ifricia for the first time today. I would describe it as Toque Quit on steroids. Highly recommended, this snuff is ground fine and is brown in color. Smells of good plain tobacco with no metallic scent or feel to be had. The container is wonderful too. It sits well and feels great in the nose and does not cause any excess drip. A must try for those wanting a stronger pinch.
I’ll add that to my wish-list. I’ve been going pretty heavy on the Maklas the last 10 days. It still knocks me out for about an hour, I get a good kip. Just bough 5 more tins of the Afrikaine 25mg, but it’s double the price of mrsnuff, so I’ll get it from him in future (although he’s sold out at the moment). As from today I’m going to try and exercise control and not use it so heavily, but I have to confess I bloody well love the stuff!!!
@vito445 that’s Betel Nut
I used to work in a tobacco field when I was younger here in Kentucky, hanging and topping mostly, and Makla reminds me of the light headed feeling I used to get from handling the tobacco. It’s extremely powerful and gives me a sort of nostalgia (the light headed kind of nostalgia) that I really enjoy.
Are Makla the strongest tobacco products on the market? If not, what is?
there is one from south america that is supposedly stronger then makla. It’s basically a nicotine reduction. Like a wine reduction. They boil the leaf untill the water content and other stuff disapates leaving a lot of nic. I’ve heard of other oral users getting sick on what they thought was a tiny tiny amount. Though who knows.
sheeeet… i love makla and i wanted to start a new topic about it. i 'm just going
to post in this thread. i think the most powerful maklas, in fact i know, are the ifrika and verte and prolly the other 20g can. that will start your heart going hahahaha. um. the reason i’m posting is the makla platinum 25g has a weird rot smell and taste that reminds me of old garbage. i’ve had these at room temp for 6 months. havent seen anyone mention that, and i dont know the ‘texture’ additives. i think whatever they put in it is rotting in the can… i’m out
Rotting is a good description for what tobacco enthusiasts usually call fermentation.
I know that if you don’t use it up in a reasonable time it will rust from the inside out. Even unopened metal tins I tried to save for a rainy day rusted the tins to dust. Decant to glass and keep refrigerated if you are trying to bulk up on it. Also dries up fast in the factory tins. The Swedish snus is far better and way more affordable - realistic IMO.
Stuff looks disgusting. But it is strong that is about all it has going for it. I like a smooth texture this is not smooth. Also I am not excited over the taste. Tried a few Africaine & Shems and the one you can snuff. I’d rather buy stuff I like.
i actually really like the whole makla selection that i’ve tried. the tins are strongest and best.
ill prolly still use the makla africaine platinums i got. i first noticed the decomposition in one case. i thought, that smells awful. i threw that away and opened a new one. that smelled the exact same. now i threw 14 containers of this shit in the fridge… ill give it some time and try again with it as i have the verte and most excellent (and strong)_ makla ifrikia hahaha
Haven’t had Makla. But, the Fire and Ice is ducking strong. The grind is fine and even. Chetak chaap is strong too. Begum Pathani is great, half as strong, finer grind and lovely cardamom and clove!!
OK, I take it back about Makla Ifrikia Platinum Bentchikou… it’s a great makla.
There is a unique smell to it, however it does not smell like garbage… it is slightly
fermented(?). The problem i notice with makla is when it gets dry, so keep it moist.
It is good.
