I have been keeping my snuffs in a wine fridge (with no wine) at between 15 - 18 Degrees Celsius. It gets very hot in Australia in Summer and I don’t want my snuff ruined. Does anyone else do this?

C

I converted my beer fridge to snuff. 40 degrees F

S

So… Then where do you keep the beer @chefdaniel???/

I

Yes our old refrigerator which was functional but “didn’t match the new cabinets” went into the workshop & became the snuff & drinks fridge.

@stogie‌ This time of year it’s easy. I just put it outside on the veranda. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a veranda is southern for porch…right next to the broken washing machines, bald tires, an old mattress or two and piles of empty beer bottles. Oh, and a rocking chair. =))

After losing about 25 grams of SWS to mould, I ALWAYS keep my SWS in a fridge unless I’m consciously planning on shoving it up my nose. It seems particularly susceptible to it. To be fair, I live in the sticky, fecund tropics where everything rots, including books and CDs, so it’s a serious test. Still, sub-tropical Australia isn’t much better.

@chefdaniel What no dogs?!?

C

@Bodger_Boggins‌ Yep. Two. A purebred Doberman and a Coonhound/Rottweiler mix. They don’t wander out to the veranda this time of year; too cold and the cats terrify them.

And let’s not forget…No southern veranda would be complete unless it overlooks at least 3 rust bucket vehicles that last ran in the late 70’s sitting in the front yard.

Three? Hell. I’ve got neighbors that could open a used car lot in their front yard. The sign says: “ya’ll brang you own toe truk, ya hear?” and “yu litl bastids git off’n my goddamn lawn”. When it comes to dating, these folks consider the family reunion a target rich environment. =))
