Got this one in my most recent order. It’s pretty awesome. The first thing that hits me is a very peaty smokeiness that I instinctivily associate with scotch. The peatiness fades rather steadily slowly revealing a very whiskey like sweetness that is more of the whiskey nose then taste. I honestly think this is the best whiskey snuff I’ve tried or at the least the most whiskey like. Anyone else try this amazing snuff.
It’s really good. I didn’t expect such a genuine scent to be honest.
Tc2642 really? it hits me like a hammer. If I didn’t like that aspect of whiskey I wouldn’t like this snuff.
Wow. That’s just strange I wonder if it’s a nose or batch issue. Definatly getting the wood too which is also really strong and at the same time. Maybe I expect to catch both together so it’s easier for me to snuff, maybe batch variance or something. Though try it with a glass of Laphroaig I think that will give the kick to your whiskey sense.
that should do it. then again i’am blessedly sesitive to the peatiness of scotch.
snuffhouse just teached me a new word: peatiness. thank you. and yes indeed its drunk Goldenboy posting again, think its over a year now that i did that. heh.
@goldenboy last time you did, I did too and we had two pissed up Stefan’s on one thread lololol. Stefan
lol @Walrus1985 i remember that, was funny as hell xD
@Tc2642: Freshness is the key. Mine was really whisky-like when new. Now its rather faded.
It’s a great snuff. Especialy if taken with whiskey.
For me its whisky-like but its mixed with a bit toasted snuff, i like it, but if someone don t like toasts its maybe not the right snuff…
I just tried my first tin the other day. The first couple of snuffs did remind me a bit of whiskey but the more I took the more I began to perceive sweet vinegar. Now I get vinegar every time I use it. I even tried decanting it in a padauk box overnight but the taste remained the same. I’ve sealed it up and put it in the vegetable crisper for now. Maybe I’ll get a different sensation at a later time.
This is brilliant snuff! Scent and flavour is scarily authentic, I’m taking it with a pint and it’s like having a real whiskey chaser. Obviously got a fresh tin.
I liked my tin better after it dried out a bit. Have you tried the Brandy?
I have yet to find a snuff that really tastes to me like the distilled spirit is is supposed to be flavored with, although several are suggestive of a liquor-like flavor. Toque W&H and Braniff Whisky come closest, but neither has got it quite right, IMO. Close, but just a little off. Both are still very enjoyable, however.
abraxas certainly smells greatly of port and brandy (I want to know the brand) I think to be honest that most use a cheaper booze.
@Spyro Haven’t tried Brandy but Irish Coffee and that was a dud, snuff was fresh, flavour mostly missing.
