Standard Wilson’s grind, medium brown color. The tin note is mainly base tobacco with a subtle, natural smelling strawberry flavor. In the nose, the flavor is slightly more candy-like, but it remains mellow and subtle. It’s a really good fruity snuff, just not as strong in flavor as I had hoped. I imagine it will smell great on a hot Summer day. Medium-low nicotine content.

I’d pretty much agree with everything said above. It’s certainly a mellow snuff, and whatever you snuffed before is likely to carry on through. Today was pleasantly warm and the snuff was well received, though possibly even less flavoursome than normal as it wasn’t particularly humid today. I have enjoyed it on cooler days too. I often rank my snuff in terms of how often I could use it consecutively. I wouldn’t rank this particularly high on that scale. It is a very nice snuff as part of an array, but wouldn’t like to leave the house for a day armed with just this one snuff.

This is a bit outside the scope of this discussion but Ive just opened a tin of Jasmine and if I hadnt read the lable, id say it was Strawberry. Ive not had Strawberry, well at least Ive not intentionally purchased Strawberry, but my is this similar. i dont mean to hijak the discussion here just wondering if anyone else had this impression. if its a mislabled tin, thats probably the 3rd or 4th this year alone. Sharrow is usually quite accurate with their snuffs as far as smelling like what they claim to be. im certain now they must be toying with my mind a bit. anyway, if it is Strawberry in a Jasmine tin, then its quite nice and subtle.

Sorry, I can’t really help you on that one, as I don’t have a tin of Jasmine (checked my notes, had one a while back, found it cloying and potentially good as a mixer, but no mention of fruit). The strawberry snuff is actually very much like a strawberry milkshake in it’s scent. I can’t imagine that a jasmine snuff could smell like a strawberry milkshake, so if it does it’s probably a labelling issue and you should get in touch with the retailer you got it from. The only such discrepancy I’ve had was with Lime and Lemon snuff. @mrmanos said his smelled wonderful, and was like getting a nose full of 7up drink. Mine smelled like toilet cleaner. However, I also got a tin of M&W Citrus Delight (made in the same facility) which is wonderful and smells like 7up. Did one of us receive something mislabelled? Did mine have a scenting error? No idea. On the whole though, I’ve been very satisfied with WoS in pretty much every respect, other than the crappy tins.

ah, maybe the tin is correct. its not a strawberry milkshake kind of strawberry, but more of a light scent youd get if you were in a garden of them. my last tin of Jasmine was just like the aroma from a nice cup of jasmine tea. but that was a 10g i had for some time. the one i recently opened was a 5g. variation in batch maybe. no big deal either way really. small price to pay as im otherwise very satisfied with WoS.

It’s possible there was a bit of cross contamination somewhere along the line, or even it’s picked up a ghost scent somehow. I learned a while back (even if I do occasionally forget and have to remind myself ) the main thing is whether or not you enjoy it, not whether it matches the implied scent exactly. I’ve had a few snuffs that didn’t smell as I thought they should, but I liked it anyway so it really didn’t matter. The classic example would be that M&W Particular, doesn’t smell of anything in particular GH Whisky doesn’t smell like Whisky, and Sharrow Mill’s Kendal Brown (either brand) isn’t a Kendal Brown, though it’s a lovely scent and does capture the KB after scent

Yes, so i will call this tin “Jasmineberry”,replace the tape, and put it away until Im in the mood for that one. Apart from vile contaminaion, i think some of the charm in snuff is variation and how it can evolve with age and such.
