No!!! Horrible thought that, I decant 25 Grams out very fast and then use electrical tape to help reseal the drum. I keep the 25g in a 2oz Smash box from Nicotine rush, These are made by LACONS, and I keep about 12 of them around, they are fantastic, they seem to seal completely, and are quick to open. I fill a 5 gram tin and hoover it up, then back to the smash box for more. Good system. I am beginning to worship fresh snuffs now. BTW, no menthol in my 1/2 drum of Camphor and mild.

I can’t describe what is in Strasbourg, but I like it a lot. The only thing is - it makes my nose run more than a lot of other snuffs. Don’t know why. Also, for some reason I really dislike it early in the day (which is also true of the F&T snuffs, the Sun snuffs, etc.). Don’t know why that is either. I didn’t think I would like highly scented snuffs, but I like them more than simple ones right now. Anyway, I regret not buying a bigger tin of Strasbourg - I only have the 10g tin, and should really have added it to my order from Wilson’s during the sale. I really like both the strong scent and the longevity (I can often still smell it 1/2 an hour later).
I hope I didn’t derail this thread by bringing it up, but C&M is not the same snuff I used to get a few years ago. It used to have a strong, unmistakable camphor smell, a resinous, almost a turpenoid scent. Now, it has either a different kind or source of camphor, or an approximation using a combination of other scents. It’s certainly possible that my nose changed, but only for that particular snuff.
Well, I just got a half drum. The ammonia is very, very strong. I don’t get menthol, but I get some nose burn from the ammonia. I closed the drum back up becuase I need to finish my tin first. If there is any difference, I’m attributing it to freshness. Give me a few days to finish the little tin, then I can dig into the bulk and be sure.
As far as derailing, perhaps we should contiune the discussion in a C&M thread, not a Strrasbuorg thread. (Strasbourg is awesome BTW, got a half drum of that too)
Just received this fresh directly from Wilson’s mill 25g tin. Note to self: Order more Strasbourg… I’m with Geraldo on this one “I can’t describe what is in it” but I know I need more of it…
I love this snuff more and more. As soon as my two 25gram tins are depleted I will order a half pound tub.
Just jumped in to say I love this snuff. Just tried it for the first time friday. It’s incredable. It’s like a perfumed s.p. it’s better then it sounds by a lot too. Oddest thing is the way the tobacco smells. It’s like it’s one part of the scent. Less like it’s the main deal but the way some perfumes would use tobacco oil to make the scent a little more masculine and earthy. I hope that makes sense. If you haven’t tried this snuff it’s awesome. I think that the infamous Packards club tried to cop the strasbourg style.
Yeah my fiance LOVES Strasbourg- she has a PC 3T box filled with it! Still fresh! I get a very lovely almost soapy scent from it. Nice.
It’s a great snuff. Somehow it smells very snuffy to me. Like a proto-modern-snuff. I don’t know how to explain it but that’s the best I can at the moment. Just sad I didn’t try this earlier.
I recently got a 1lb drum and all I can say is Wow! Fresh from the mill, it’s even better. A must-have in bulk imo.
