Wilsons made Viking Blonde?

Was wondering if any of you that have had and liked the Gawith made Blonde have had the wilsons made Blonde and can compare them. Are they close or are they different animals now?

I ask because I loved Thors Hammer. Now the wilsons made, although good, is not the same animal. Missing the smokey element of the Gawith Viking Dark/Brown. Seams like they use Black Rappee substituded for the Viking Dark. I was thinking of mixing some blonde with SG Silky dark to mimic the Hammer.

Nothing is the same and not even similar in SG / WoS Viking lines.

WoS Viking Blonde is akin to WoS Dr. Rumney’s Brown.

For a closer match, instead of mixing SG Silky with Blonde, better mix Silky with W. E. Garrett & Sons plain scotch.

So garrett is a closer substitute for the old blonde or would f&t HDT be closer? Just found out our local smoke shop got a couple flats of garrett plain scotch and sweet so I got one each.
