I was a bit disappointed in Jockey Club, expected more from it. It’s to sweet, to much like baby powder, for my liking and I’ve mixed in some other snuff to make it “better”. I won’t re-order. Burgundy was also a bit to sweet at first but the more I sniffed it, the more i liked it. I’ve detected some nice spicy undertones and the aroma lingers for quite a while. I will for sure order again. What do you, ladies and gentlemen, prefer?

Ive just tried these two back to back: Jockey club: a weaker version of best SP from what I can tell. Nothing toopowerful on the nose but a solid enough snuff. Burgundy: This is more like it! Definitely spicy and aromatic. Quite similar to French Carotte in its spicyness but a different scent, a different mix of oils. Its got a definite course texture (unlike most of the other WoS I’ve tried) and is really more-ish.
In fact, for the Burgundy, I think I’m getting cedarwood as opposed to the sandalwood, etc, of french carotte. Although I’m no essential oil expert! Im going on comparisons with incense sticks here
Pieter, I agree. I also find “Jockey Club” a bit sweet; I might reorder in the future, but for an occasional treat. As an all day snuff, it becomes a bit much. I don’t dislike it, I’m happily snuffing away at as I type, but for constant satisfaction I find a less perfumed, more “tobacco-y” snuff hits the spot. Which mirrors my experience with pipe smoking; an aromatic tobacco is a once in a while change of pace, then back to the more natural blends. As an aside, I was just thinking today how odd it is that we use a taste description “sweet” for something we sniff.
