My first experience with European snuff was Poschl’s Packard Club. Being a newbie at the time who had only experienced the Garrett’s I assumed it was the standard of all European snuffs - mentholated and waxy. I received the above mentioned Wilson’s as a sample in an order from NicotineRush - I was completely blown away. it’s so smooth and flavorful compared to the american snuffs. i must try more of wilson’s and toque i’ve decided. although i love the kick of rooster and bruton, the flavor of the Wilson’s was too sublime to really be able to compare the continental differences. on a side note: tom at nicotinerush, i wish you had a wishlist feature on your site.
I second the wish list. I’ve gotten a little carried away before and knocked a few items from my final cart to reduce the price. Then, as weird as it sounds, by the next time I order, I have forgotten about the ones I spent time reading reviews for and ultimately decided to hold off on.
Or at least a checklist, so I can remember which ones I’ve ordered…
Yeah, the best Toast around (at least untill Roderick releases his new natural toast )
I’m glad you are making new discoveries, Jack. There is a world of difference between English and German snuffs. Both have their share of good ones and bad ones though. As for wishlists at Nicotine Rush, you can keep a cart perpetually there. So just add whatever strikes your fancy. You can always delete some when buying time comes. A checklist of sorts is also there. There is a place that shows your order history in your account page. If you are getting your snuff from multiple sources, I suggest you start keeping an inventory. I found I had to, and its helpful to me.
It’s a superb snuff. I’ve always got a pound container on the go. If you like this one you should definitely try Fribourg and Treyer High Dry Toast and Samuel Gawith’s Irish D, both light and original.
Is the SG Irish D the same as F&T HDT? I read somewhere it’s what F&T used to package as HDT. Confirm/deny? I do love me some HDT though. I know this sounds disgusting, but it’s like a well worn sock in the nose, in a good way. I know that last bit is headed for the out of context thread…
I don’t know about SG irish d and f&t HDT being the same thing, but to me, WOS Irish high toast and F&T HDT seem like the same thing.
All 3 are different. SG Irish D is the FORMER F&T blend.
Yes, all four are different. According to PhilipS, Samuel Gawith’s Irish D Light was F&T High Dry Toast until Wilsons bought the recipes.
Samuel Gawith Irish D: Almost sweet, very nutty and light. F&T HDT: Very clean toasted/nutty flavor. WoS IHT 22: A bit smokier than F&T with a deeper flavor.
Not the same hdt and Irish toast22 ,there diferant colors(Irish toast is lighter) and hdt is smokey, Irish toast 22 is not smokey IMO . Both will rock ur taco six way from sunday!
Fine and dry like the Americans but with a subtle scent that makes this a good all day snuff. Descent nic content.
I bought some in bulk a little over a year ago and it has improved markedly with age. It was good to begin with, but it’s just fabulous now.
It does seem to mellow. The flavors come out a bit, but meld together nicely. I’d buy it in bulk, I just have another full tin waiting first.
My absolutely favourite snuff along O&G. Received a pound of this in May and it’s almost gone. Great flavour, good nic and quite easy to use. Recommended to everybody!
