As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a die-hard fan of Ozona Cherry. I’d still rather it have less menthol but, once the menthol dies down, it leave a very pleasing cherry scent that lingers for quite a while. I have read a review or two of Wilson’s Cherry Menthol, and it sounds like it would be a fantastic snuff. My question is, how does it compare to Ozona Cherry? Has anyone here tried both of these that can give me a good comparrison? Including grind, moisture, menthol level, and strength/appeal of cherry scents? Thanks in advance!
Menthol is a lot stronger on the Wilson’s. The rest is similar, Ozona is easier to pick up the cherry scent because of the lower menthol level & does seem a little sweeter. Thats my opinion, others may disagree.

For me I like the Wilson’s better. Wilson’s taste excactly like a cherry flavored cough drop. Ozona Cherry, Raspberry, and Orange all taste too sweet for me, like sniffing ground up pieces of candy.

Sweet. Thanks for the feedback guys And thank you, Omegapd, for the kind offer. But, I think I’ll just add some to my cart when I place my next order. Even if I don’t care for it much, I won’t let it go to waste. I had thought about trying to mix the two like Samorost is talking about. I’m almost tempted to mix some McCrystal’s Apricot with some Gawith Apricot and see how that turns out
Wilson’s Cherry Menthol was my first excursion into Wilso’ns brand snuffs. I’ve also had occasion to try a tin of the Ozona Cherry. I personally prefer the Wilson’s though the Ozona certainly delivers if you are looking for a pure cherry taste. Wilson’s would be more aptly named Menthol Cherry IMO. I’m a fan of mentholated snuffs so keep that in mind. Ozona has a distinct menthol kick but the Wilson’s leaves no doubt to your nostrils that you’ve whiffed a mentholated grind. Also, I find the Wilson’s to be a bit dryer and finer than the Ozona. Again, not a bad thing for my tastes but you might consider that if it means a lot to you. Ozona if you want cherry taste foremost; Wilson’s if you want a serious mentholated snuff with slight cherry overtone. Try em both, neither is that bad just a bit different and respectable in their own way.
there is a slight vanilla note in the ozona cherry. mixing a bit toque vanillla in brings it out even more.
I prefer the Wilson’s to Ozona. As stated above, the Wilson’s does have a stronger menthol kick to it. I’m starting to like the Ozona Cherry less and less each pinch I take. It just tastes too fake for me.
Maybe Ozona Cherry tastes fake, but in my opinion that’s exactly what makes it the best Cherry snuff out there. I have tried other “Cherry” snuffs, said to be made using only natural ingredients. Well, it was like sniffing a pile of dried grass up in my nose, nothing like cherry at all. So, in this case, the “fake” seems to be better than the real one.
My two favorite Cherry snuffs are Toque and Ozona. Samuel Gawith makes a good cherry as well.
When I was first on this list a few years ago. (guess I could figure it out myself). One of the memebers saytar I think (could be wrong) was really into the poschel cherry sold in either poland or germany and several memebers on the list agreed that the foriegn version was way diffrent then the american version. Anyone have any insight into that???
I prefer the Toque cherry menthol. It is just better snuff imho.
I agree toque cherry is great. I’ve only tried the ozona the she and the toque. The wilsons sounds terrible to me (though I love wilsons). The toque was definatly my favorite. Found it very really cherry scent and very refreshing too. I kind of never use poschels and really don’t like the scents but more so don’t like that they stuff up my nose like I have a plug of cement in my nose. So even the ones I like somewhat don’t get used.

Well I never got a strong smell from a real cherry, is it my noes? or is the snuff maker on the right lines?
Just got me thinking; how about a snuff of the freshly mowed lawn?.
That’s right, real cherry has a very weak scent-that’s why it’s so difficult to capture it in snuff. I really respect the natural cherry snuff makers out there for refusing to use artifical ingredients, but Cherry is a scent that has to be artifical to be enjoyable. In snuff, that is.
I don’t understand the idea that a flavouring should be artificial to be enjoyable. Surely a cherry snuff should smell like the juice of a freshly squashed cherry! But your opinion must be shared by others as plenty of companies out there make artificially flavoured products. Whether Poschl is one of them is debatable. However Ardrasath, you clearly enjoy the Ozona Cherry (I must confess I’ve never tried it), so keep us informed of your future cherry snuff reviews.
You are right, a cherry snuff should smell like the juice of a freshly squashed cherry. The problem is, it can’t, because the scent of a real cherry is very weak. It’s also very hard to capture in the form of snuff. So basically, there are two ways to make a cherry-flavoured snuff: Natural, but weak and not cherry-like at all, even though it’s made of cherry. Ironic, isn’t it? The other is artifical, with a strong scent that smells like a typical fake cherry, but is very enjoyable, like Ozona Cherry. And it’s true, I really enjoy Ozona Cherry-in a mad way, as some would say-so I recommend it to everyone.

Wait, what? Sorry, but I am not sure if I get what you mean. Or perhaps you do not know what I meant by mad? In that case you should be happy, I bet some people who know would be glad to forget it.
