Seems most people like the tins that Fribourg & Treyer snuffs come in. Well I don’t and here is why; they are long and tall and that make them very hard to take a pinch from. I love their screw top lids but why don’t they make their tins flat and wide?!

I

I won’t pinch from tins larger than 10g because of the fear of contamination & mold growth, or from any tin I don’t plan on knocking out in a week or two maximum. F&T tins are awesome IMO because 1. They have a rubber gasket in the lid which allows for air tight resealing and 2. the cylindrical nature of the tin exposes a tiny fraction of snuff to the atmosphere when opened, keeping the under the surface snuff moist and aromatic.

F

somebody should develop conical tins that open at both ends, to appeal to everybody

I think you are right about less exposer when opened and I think that is why they do it, however I still don’t like them - that’s just me.

Chacun à son goût! That is why they make about a dozen (or more) dispenser types, everyone has a favorite (except for those 10g Sam Gawith tapboxes, EVERYBODY hates those).

H

Yeah they’re nice for air-tightness but the 25g ones you pretty much have to decant or use a snuff spoon (or a folded piece of paper like I do)

S

Plastic General snus pucks, perfect for me and a snus portion in top compartment…

F

I decant mine into old SG tins. They have a good seal keeping the snuff fresh, and are easy to take pinches from.

I’m a spooner mainly because of my profession; dipping foody hands into lovely snuff is criminal. I have so many empty HDT 50’s around my wife uses them for all manner of girly shit that I don’t really want to know about. I do like that ammo belt idea; twin bandoliers of F&T tins across my chest and a demi-tasse spoon in my fist. A testosterone festival in the making.

I’ll give you my snuff spoon when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

I imagine F&T worked on the assumption that all of their customers had a snuffbox (and probably also a man to clean and fill it for them…)
