i struggled for over half an hour to try to get McChrystals USA to accept an order before i just decided to give up and use Mr Snuffs site. My understanding is that both are run by the same people…yet on McChrystals the payment wouldnt go through no matter how I tried. Yet MrSnuff took the card info in a flat second and whammo! i get an order confirmation and im happy as a clam knowing my small but treasured purchase is on its way. Why are the two sites so different in their pricing and payment acceptance when it is the same people running both places??? Is one site going to be no longer in business or what? I dont think mine is an unreasonable question. Someone please enlighten me.

I didn’t know it was the same people running them.  But I’ve wondered if MrSnuff and SnuffStore are the same company.

@Chico, yes they are to my understanding.

@Chico - Yeah, I was looking through the shipping FAQ on Snuffstore and noticed that in one sentence the reference to MrSnuff. So, I would definitely say it is probably the same company.

Does anyone know why McChrystals will ship to the USA and WoS wont? Maybe it has something to do with the credit card processors not wanting to mess with USA based CCs?

@snuffiedoo, have you tried contacting WoS by phone or mail to see if they will ship ? I belive that their stance on this may have changed and people are relying on old information.

We use Worldpay to process card payments. Our contract with them specifically prohibits taking payments from US registered cards for any tobacco product. If we are found to have taken such a payment the contract threatens us with a minimum fine of USD100,000. That is why we can’t ship to the US!
We are hoping to introduce a Bitcoin payment method in the near future which will enable us to ship to the USA and other countries.

@sharrow1 - what about Paypal paid in GBP?  And can you ship to the US if someone pays with a UK registered debit card?

@sharrow1 … really happy to hear about the bitcoin option. More companies need to adopt it ( also seems to be a good investment right now ). I also heard that @Roderick was considering it as well.

Paypal is awesome . I can make on line purchases and just have the funds deducted from my bank account.

I guess US CC are not friends with Worldpay. 

Paypal charges the merchant around 3% or more of the sale, so many don’t like to do it if they have another option. Also paypal stores all your bank info and cc info on their servers, so you have to trust their security, some people get paranoid about these things. 

Also PayPal are tobacco nazis and it is against PayPal rules to use PayPal for tobacco purchases.  So you wont be seeing PayPal as an option for ANY snuff supplier anytime soon.

@n9inchnails some of our online cigar store in Australia accept paypal. Not sure if this is an exception to the rule though.

There are pipe shops in the US that have paypal as an option like smokingpipes.com but paypal can only be used to buy pipes or accessories, as soon as you add a tobacco product to your cart paypal no longer appears as an option at checkout.

If you ask on the sly, some will accept PP if you do it as friends/family with no mention of tobacco.  

@Chico - Yes, we can manually accept a UK registered debit card and ship to the US. We can’t do this on the website. You would need to contact the office directly. Regarding Paypal, and as everyone has stated above, they refuse to accept payments for tobacco products so it is not an option for us, sadly.

@n9inchnails  Paypal ? never had any problem, There policy must vary by region.

Or it might have changed, its been over a year since I tried.
