Why can snuff make your teeth numb?

H

I’ve noticed some snuffs, especially coarser moister ones like Viking Dark or SG KB, make me feel a light numbing sensation on the top row of my teeth. Not like I just had novocaine but just a touch of that numb feeling. What could cause this? Or is it just me? Though I think I’ve heard other members mention it once or twice.

i get a bit numb/tingly when i use loads of anarkali i noticed, but not had it with viking dark or KB. perhaps its nic?

I used to notice my face numb when I started snuff so could only have been the nicotine circulating from my nose around my face but it doesn’t happen now maybe because I quit smoking. Never had any teeth numbness.

Yeah it’s not really teeth, it sort of radiates out my nose to the top of my mouth and gums a little bit.

mm, i remember posting about the gums behind my top front teeth tingling. thats part of it.

Got that tingly feeling right now with Scotch Black followed by Molens Bon Bon

I’m guessing it’s pressure on the sinuses, like neuralgia. I get it very rarely. More often, a very localized tingle in my forehead when I use Viking dark.

It been over 30 years since I experienced that feeling >:) I had the back of my head blown off recently from snuff, I had to check if it was still intact
