Whoops what? Am I missing something lol? Stefan
?
You have to be 18 years to see that page. I’m too old.
hint: marked “NEW”
So…they called it Gin & Tonic instead of Ma’s Ruin?
what’s the big deal?
I got some “G&T” from my tobacconist last week. It’s ok, I guess – fine/medium-fine, bone dry snuff with citrus (more lime than lemon) aroma and with first bumps I got something which could be juniper berry - perhaps i’m just imagining it. It’s going flat fast (tap box, what else) and now only I get slight citrus/apricot notes. Quite medium snuff in many senses. Not very “GinAndTonicy”, IMO. Grade: “Meh -”
I’ve been hoping to see some reviews pop up on this one and some other new arrivals.
Whoops indeed! Sounds revolting. Could never understand those who choose to ruin Champagne with cheap orange juice or smother fillet of beef medallions with HP sauce. They’ll be producing lobster thermidore with ketchup snuff next.
Ah PhilpS don’t knock it if they put some egg in there too. Then it’s not such a crime. You know they don’t put eggs in booze as much as they used to. What a sad state of affairs.
@n9inchnails: you’re closest so far. @jari T: seeing a photo of that changes things. Curiouser and curiouser.
And isn’t Buck’s Fizz a SnuffStore house blend that’s made by SG
Everytime I read that I think of Carbonated Tom Buck. I need to get it outta my head…
I’m assuming your talking about the base snuff being listed as single, when it should be mixture…but that’s just a guess.
So now we know that SG makes the blends for Snuff Store.
I’d like to add that I’m not going to buy the “Bucks Fizz”, but will put my meager monies towards the real sunffs that they do still manufacture ; Scotch and London Brown. Will try their their Irish, as well. Edit: By all means try these snuffs, they might be just the thing! Ma’s Ruin (one of my favorite snuffs ever - not that I’ve been taking snuff all that long) is not listed in the dropdown; does that also suggest it’s now become the “new” Gin & Tonic? I’m still looking for a place to buy Ma’s Ruin in bulk; that way it’d always be nice and fresh and tasty.
Ok, my understanding was that Buck’s Fizz and Gin and Tonic were Snuffstore House blends. Approximatley the same time those two were released, Samuel Gawith released Mimosa and Ma’s Ruin. Now it seems like SG wants to sell the former two under their own name as well. Yes, Stokes, they’ve blown the “secret”, which is why I said “whoops.” Also the Ma’s Ruin is better than the Gin&Tonic but Buck’s Fizz is better than Mimosa, but that’s just my opinion.
I hope that doesn’t mean they’re discontinuing Ma’s Ruin! That would be a sad day for me. And man, I thought Mimosa was … not good at all. But I’m sure someone likes it.
