Sugar…aw, honey honey… you are my candy, girl And you got me wantin’ you… Okay, while I love tobacco in many forms (I smoke cigars, the occasional cigarette and nasal snuff…never got into snus or chewing tobacco), I was pleased to discover upon my return to snuffing that there are many offerings in the “non-tobacco snuff” category. WoS White, Poschl “somethingweiss,” and others. All of these seem to be made of some sort of “sugar flour” (i.e. fructose or dextrose) and menthol or mint. This isn’t really a question, but I’m wondering if that’s all there is. Back in 1974 or so, there was a brand of sugar snuff called “Cokesnuff.” The intended market was obvious… As I recall, Cokesnuff came in at least six different flavors, including raspberry, grape, cherry, mint and others. I’m wondering if a white powder exists other than the minty ones. Oh, I did find Wilson’s Lemon-Lime and Lemon Ice, but I’m wondering if anyone makes other fruit flavored “white snuffs.” Of course, I still will use tobacco. I am so glad I found Mr. Snuff online, although shipping to the U.S. is incredibly expensive. As an example, my most recent order was just under $84.00, and the Royal Airmail charge was nearly $24.00. Yikes! More than 25% over the cost of the items I ordered. So, I guess a secondary question might be if there are any good snuff sellers in the U.S.? Thanks for reading my Saturday morning ramblings. Time for another strong coffee and a pinch of Poschl Silverstone Orange…a snuff which I can no longer find… Sigh.
@Uncle_Squinty I remember the coke snuff it was packaged in Philadelphia but made in France. Came in a 4 or 5 gram turn tin. baby laxative. Not much need for that today. There is a white snuff I use for spiritual purpose and that is UZARA .
To me all the white energy snuffs are abominations. I get incredibly stuffed up if I even entertain the idea of using them, and the “energy” aspect is nonexistent
@itsmajick… Yeah, I know what you mean and I respect your opinion, but your comment doesn’t answer my questions. Mostly, I’m keeping the non-tobacco snuffs around to placate my wife, who is terrified that my nose will rot off my face, should I continue to use tobacco snuffs. Of course, we all know that she’s being a bit silly, but I do what I can to keep peace around here. BTW, I just tried the Bernard Naseweis and the Poschl “Sniffy.” I think they’ll be fine in small doses…abomination aside.
She will find out unless you have a brown handkerchief ? Woman are silly. But you know she cares about your looks.
There is the Thai herbal snuffs I don’t think they contain tobacco but I could be wrong. I got the red one once and the smell reminded me of children’s cherry cough syrup
Ok I just looked on mr snuff. The Thai red and purple is meant to have tobacco. And the yellow doesn’t
The Bernard Tiger series are flavored white snuffs maybe they also have caffeine. Bernard has about 7 different ones I think altogether. Then there are herbal snuff, not white but not tobacco either. Then the guarana ones, usually orange in color. There are dozens really. Don’t the shops have a non tobacco option search feature?
Yes, the shops do have a non-tobacco category. Whoops… Guess I should have done a bit more research before posting; hey, I am a newbie, what can I say? BTW, avoid Poschl Sniffy at all costs. It’s worthless IMHO. Think of those CokeSnuff dispensers, the round tin with the rotating lid and side hole. Being sugar, the stuff doesn’t want to exit its comfy home tin, and when it does, it’s grainy. Keep in mind that I keep my snuffs in a fairly dry area (dehumidifier during summer), so it wasn’t particularly wet. The mint/menthol is nearly undetectable. I used it to mix with some dried out Wilson’s Lemon and a bit of kanna. It made a decent stretcher/sweetener, but added very little minty goodness.

Hey! There are a lot of silly men out there too
@LadySnuff Yea but that is what woman want, someone to make them laugh! :)>- Peace Sorry if I had offended
@basement_shaman No worries, no offence taken , and yes you are right, we do like a good laugh
I can “tolerant” Snuffy Weiss but that’s it for the white stuff for me.
hate white snuffs. Thought the energy ones might be nice, well they gunk up my nose in a strange way. It isn’t so much clogging as they make my nose juice stickier. Sorry for that image, but in my defense I didn’t bring up or create the white snuff
I have 2. Well three if you count de kralingse Mentholin, although that one is grey. Of the three, WoS White: No. Lotzbeck Schneefernerprise: Ok. Not bad. De Kralingse Mentholin: Nice, pleasant smell and nose feel even though there is no tobacco.
Seriously though @uncle_squinty, a pack of smokes are 5-6 bucks a pack here in the metro St Louis area. If I was a smoker and just puffed half a pack a day I would burn thru that $108 in a mere 3 weeks. I’m willing to bet you it takes one hell of a lot longer to finish of that $108 dollar order of snuff. Maybe 5-6 weeks? hehe
by the by, coincidentally I went to a cigarette store this am to pick up a couple cans of chew and mentioned nasal snuff and a woman showed me a single brand of snuff(in the whole tobacco store mind you) and it was an old 30gram cardboard can of garrett scotch that the girl said her parents had bought when they opened the store almost 20 years ago and which never sells. That’s how much luck you’ll have finding snuff in the U.S. unless you live in the south east where you’ll probably find a somewhat wider variety of ancient cans.
a somewhat wider variety of ancient cans.
I hear that!
Xander et al, Well, the big order of non-tobacco snuffs (and 2 tap boxes of Poschl Red Buull) arrived yesterday. I’ll do some formal reviews, but let me tell you what I got. Tiger Cherry and Cola Molens Mentholin Bernard’s Naseweis Extra and Ice Crystal Poschl-can’t-pronounce-it-or-even-spell-it in cute little bottles Chinese herbal snuff (again, can neither write nor pronounce the name, but MS sells it) in beautiful little bottles Braniff Mint Wilson’s Lemon Ice (see review elsewhere on this forum) Oh, and a 5 gram tin of Wilson’s Lemon-Lime, which I thought was non-tobacco but which to my nose appears to contain tobacco… Yep…just as I thought. The fructose and/or dextrose based schnupfpulvers are a lot like snorting Pixie Stix candy (remember the flavored sugars sold in paper straws)? I understand the Tiger powders are supposed to be energy snuffs, but I wonder what exactly gives energy. Caffeine? Now I am counting the days until the tobacco portion of my orders arrives. I was *stunned* at the sheer number of snuffs available. When I tried snuffing about five years ago, the British firm with which I dealt offered a decent but limited selection. Great Scott…it will take me years just to try the Wilson’s of Sharrow range alone. Well, time to snort some sugar. I’ll review each in its proper section of snuffhouse.org. Good days, Paul/Uncle_Squinty
