What are the weird fuzz things in this can of snuff ? I’m pretty sure it’s no good , has anyone else seen this ? 
?
I don’t know what that is, but I wouldn’t put it in my nose.

@Skeletonkiss what brand and type of snuff is it? sure its not chewing tobacco? is it this consistency all the way through the tin or just on top?

It’s wilsons of sharrow menthol . I thought maybe they were menthol crystals , or some type of alien snuff monster . The tin is brand new so I’m kind of bummed I got a Nasty batch!
@Skeletonkiss nah that’s not right. I have no idea what it is but I can guarantee you its gone bad somehow, looks like they had a shedding dog in the packing area. Don’t use this I would chuck it, its probably some type of mold since its a waterbased English snuff. Does your tin have a date on the bottom, when it was made?

look like menthol crystals to me; if they are sharp, shiny, thin, and brittle they probably are.

I don’t see how the menthol crystals would sublimate and recrystallize after being mixed through. Either return it or attempt to take it, get ill then sue them. Although returning it would probably be the least trouble of the two

Looks almost like plant material, milk weed chaff or something, Doesn’t seem right to be in Snuff though.
If it’s menthol like @Mouse said, I would imagine that they would sublimate like @Aamon is asking, in the presence of heat, moisture and possibly a catalyst or reactant.

Stand corrected. It is possible that they have recrystallized if the snuff tin got above 36 degrees C it depends if these Chrystal’s runs right through the snuff or just on the top layer. If it is just on the surface it is most likely a form of menthol Chrystal’s. I will do a small scale experiment tomorrow with some menthol snuffs to see if I can replicate this result to the best of my ability. Although the presence of an inert gas during the packing may have a result on the snuff that I cannot replicate. I’ll keep you posted

If it doesnt look right, it aint right. Return it, theyll be glad to compensate you. Im a menthol junkie, and Ive NEVER seen this in any of my menthol snuffs, despite carrying a WoS tin in my pocket at work, even when it was extremely warm. (Likely more than 36C)

One other quick thought, it looks awfully like the fibrous medium used in Fiber Glass, the container is not fiber glass correct?

That’s good to know that they are menthol crystals , I’m too scared to use it though . It gets hot as hell where I live so that’s probably what happened. Maybe on beer day which is usually Friday I will gather up the guts to blast it .
You could always pick out the surface menthol and mix in the rest, I’d hate to get a menthol shard in my nose Hedges L260 is strong enough for me let alone menthol Chrystal’s by itself. If anybody knows about this kind of stuff its Roderick, I’m sure if you mix it thoroughly it will be still good.

Just shake it or mix it up, it is fine. Same thing happened to me a couple years ago with WoS Extra Menthol. Mine looked more straight and jagged similar to Basement Shamans pic. I was weirded out too till someone here let me know what it was.
