Which Snuff for the Cold Weather? (UK)

As many of you will know, the UK is undergoing something of a cold snap (I think the temp record so far is -17C) and I was wondering, which shuff do you use most when the weather is cold? I’ve found that using my usual O&G produces a ‘cold burn’ sensation if my nose is already cold, and so I’ve switched to F&T HDT as an everyday snuff for the time being. Any suggestions?

I got laid off from my job a while ago and have been working as a landscape gardener for the time being (though not today, its too bloody cold!). I agree, lay off the menthols (at least outdoors). Toast is good, but also some of the more perfumed snuffs release some hidden flavours when taken out in the cold.

I’m in the UK too and have been going with the coarsest and moistest snuffs from the scmalzers to the rappees… i love them!

@Sleepwalker, yep scmalzers are the way to go! Recently discovered them.

Im going to be putting in an order on Friday when I get paid, I think I’ll include some Bernard Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert, I’ve heard people rave about it, but never had any so I’ll give that a go! I think I’m going to get some F&T Macouba aswell, going with what Mopey said about perfumed snuffs. Cheers people!

royal george and schmalzer definatly. Avoid menthols.

I’ve heard mixed things about Royal George, on here, SnuffReviews and on Snuff Store. People can’t seem to make up their minds about it, but I suppose it’s one of those snuffs you just have to try. Am I right in saying the main fragrance or scent is Rosemary? With a few other herbal bits mized in?

I love menthols in the winter! Maybe it’s just me but that extra blast of freshness really does it for me. Maybe it’s just the excitement of finally being able to use a menthol after getting over my sensitivity to it. The scmalzers seem good when I’m cozied up in a warm house on a cold night. The toasts are good for outside. makes me think of campfires and fireplaces.

@Koba22: I don’t get any rosemary in Royal George. I get a lot of cherry, and some citrus, spices, and some floral. Its very sweet. Its good for an occasional dessert, or like bob says on winter night.

I don’t get rosemary in royal george either. Who knows. The main scent I get is cinnamon cherry and marzipan. I get a lot of marzipan. It’s a very warm scent that no too people seem to smell the same. For me it’s not very sweet just a little sweet. My review of the snuff states it’s a must try just to because it’s an odd snuff. It really seems like they dump all the snuff left overs together.

I think I got the Rosemary idea from a review of it somewhere, but I guess that was just one persons thoughts on it. To be honest I like the sound of it, I think I’ll whack some in the old order on Friday! @rdunnion, I do like menthols in the winter in general, but I can’t seem to take them with a cold nose as it hurts like hell, but that might just be me…

I like menthols all year round. However the summer is my favorite time to take menthol.

I’m not in the UK, but I love smokey snuff in the winter.

Just been out in the sub zero snuffing sam gawith scotch black. The smell of coal fires on a cold day, lovely.

I’ve just been to the shop trudging my way through 15 in. of snow with a nosefull of O&G. It was lovely. I’ve never known snow this deep in the UK, its a bloody nightmare.

I had to change my snuffing habits because of cold and cut medicated to minimum, my nose clogged too easily. Toast and sp for winter!

Everything is better in cooler weather. I like Schmalzlers , McCrystal O&G, Poschl Raspberry, and WoS Honey Menthol and Lemon Grove very much in cool weather.

You need a good plainish base SP or Toque riginal or natural. Next you need to aded a little spice to go with your spicy mulled snuff - so just add to taste Kamal and Ganga, level off with one of the Toque fruit menthols if liked. Shake the ingredients for a few minutes (this is the equivalent of four hours gas mark 5 andyou are done. Take as soon as you get in from the cold with a good hot drink - preferably mulled wine, or a good, slighlty warmed armanac

hedges l260 for the cold months.

I see the south east of England has had snow again. According to the news this is akin to the world ending. Last week we had 2 feet of the bloody stuff up here but where was it on our news? I hate the British media if summat happens in London, or Scotland it is covered anywhere in between you are screwed. Thankfully we haven’t had any snow in this second wave, just a lot of ice. Hopefully it stays that way. Anyway please excuse me I’m a little drunk so probably not wise to post. Just had to rant. See you when I’ve sobered up lol. Stefan
