Where to obtain Railroad Mills and/or Square Plain Scotch Snuff

Are these two products even being produced anymore ? Any idea where to obtain them in Florida, or >>>>>?

Those products are still available. Go to Swisher.com and click on the contact link, telling them what you are looking for and where you live. They’ll likely put you in touch with a local Swisher sales rep, who can tell you where they are sold, or may be able to acquire some as a special order through one of your local tobacco shops.

@cpmcdill I hope you are right about the B&M’s. Those I use (and they are really great overall) will not even consider an order unless they are already using the distributor.

Premium cigar oriented tobacconists tend to think such stuff is beneath them, but convenience stores and supermarkets that have Swisher products like their flavored cigars, chewing tobacco and dips would likely have no objection to getting in some dry snuffs on a special order.

Maybe not mention sticking it up your nose. I would like to say our habit should be out in the open but, some times it’s best to leave people uninformed.

Yeah, when I ask for it, I refer to it as “dry snuff” rather than nasal snuff. Apparently the only way Swisher still gets away with producing them is to market them as a category of oral snuffs. It seems that nasal snuffs have become taboo in the US. Nasal snuffs have been so whitewashed from history that even other tobacco enthusiasts are shocked that anyone could put tobacco in their noses.

Which is sad consider many of our founding fathers dealt heavily in the stuff. I remember reading some where on here that Ben Franklin bargained with the french with snuff.

I’d always imagined Ben Franklin to be a snuffer.

Benjamin Franklin pioneered the term “international playboy” There is speculation that at the time of the War of Independence, something like every third teenager in Philadelphia could be counted among Ben’s bastard offspring. Sorry to hyjack the thread. You can find sometimes on e bay .beware of rusty tins .http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=scotch+snuff&_from=R40%7CR40%7CR40&_osacat=593&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xscotch+snuff+full&_nkw=scotch+snuff+full&_sacat=593

Lest we forget, our own Senate has two permanent snuffboxes, one on each side of the aisle.
George Washington used to order six pounds of snuff at a time; three each of Best Scotch snuff and Best Violette Strasbourg.
One of the early anti-tobacco sh1t-disturbers wrote a pamplet in which he said that Ben Franklin had a snuffbox for each day of the week.  That pamphlet is filled with lies, so much so that some of the lies contradict each other; but it does mean that the author supposed that people would be inclined to believe Franklin was a heavy snuffer.
@Z_2K, I was stationed in Jacksonville in the 'nineties and one could buy both of those snuffs at a convenience store, gas station, or Food Lion.  That was the 'nineties though…

786 Thank you for the link!
I was just buying supplies to build you a shrine, but then I noticed that the selection is quite small.  They have only ten snuffs, three of which are out of stock, five of which are sweet, and two of which I can go and buy locally, leaving Tops as the only viable purchase for me.  I have always avoided Tops because I can’t dissociate it from the cheap hideous ryo tobacco.
I think I will start a thread about Tops.
In the meantime thank you again for the link.  If they ever build their stock up I will be forever in your debt.  Seriously.
All Hail Herne The Hunter!

I was tempted for the bruton but prices are a bit too high for something I’ve not tried before. Still curious how some companies are getting around the pact act that keeps me from just calling the manufacturer and asking them where I can buy their product locally or purchase direct.

786 The link which Herne gave us is a company run by somepony from the Seneca Nation, I think that provides a clue.  I don’t mean to sound cryptic; I don’t know the nature of the clue myself, just that I think it is one.

786 @RS422 really? All I got was a message letting me know that the domain was parked and possibly up for sale! Holy cats it’s back up and running, good! I must have caught then at a time when they hadn’t paid their domain bill for the year. Oh and…Thank Goodness.

@jmahes You’ll be waiting for awhile, Honest was dicontinued a couple years ago. I bought the last two cases ever to be shipped to hawaii.
