I didn’t see a previous thread on this.  I did search, possibly I didn’t look hard enough.  I know the common answer to this is going to be something along the lines of wherever and whenever, but there’s a reason I’m asking.  I’m finding that I will often take a pinch of snuff in the morning on my way out the door.  Sometimes the smell will have faded by the time I head out, sometimes it still lingers, but, either way, once I’m outside it comes rushing back and I pick up nuances I didn’t notice at all while indoors.  This morning I tried a little Zwiefacher and was initially hit by the slight menthol lift.  After a few minutes the menthol was gone and I was still getting earthy notes.  As I stepped out the door I was suddenly hit with waves of chocolate covered cherry that just wouldn’t stop, WOW!!!  The Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert I tried later gave me a sour fermented bready/yeasty smell inside which was enhanced with bittersweet cocoa when I went outside.  Anyway, just curious about your thoughts on time and place and how it effects your snuffing experience.

Snuffing outside certainly seems to bring out more and different flavours than inside.  I imagine it’s got something to do with the fresh air mingling in your nose, chemical reactions and whatnot probably.

I always get the best flavours out of the HDT when I’m outside.

Certainly everywhere I can. The hardest is when I’m driving. But my favourite is during walks with the dog. I love a strong scotch with the smoky bbq scent when it’s cool outside.

I really only snuff in the evenings in front of the computer.  I don’t know why, although i have had the odd  nasty look from folks when snuffing in public.

Well i snuff all the time but my usual everyday times, are in the morning when i wake up, at the end of my lunch hour, right after my conditioning class, after dinner and about an hour before bed. 

I have three friends who snuff as well, one of them being the one who got us all into it(honestly have to thank him) and whenever we are together, we always snuff at least a little bit.

Any place, Snuff taking is quiet comon in this neck of the woods.

Any place that hasn’t been declared “tobacco free.”  You know all the non-smoking areas?  Well now we’re getting “tobacco free” areas.  Can’t snuff there.

More or less anywhere when i get the feeling. In class, outside, inside my flat, train, bus, friend´s place, parent´s place, gf parent´s place, etc…

what Prismaster said lol. People barely look at me and even if they do I don’t care. Most of them don’t know what it is but I’m casual enough about it for them to know it’s legal, even if they think its gross. Most people who call it gross followed that with a cigarette and told them sniffing tobacco isn’t anywhere near as gross as cigarettes when you consider that the ammonia in snuff can be aired out of it.

Mostly when I at home in the evenings, or when I’m off work. Kind of hard when your hands are covered with grease.

I work as a auto Mechanic, so I use snus when I’m at work.

Anywhere but church.

I usually snuff in my workshop or in my truck (usually not while driving of course). I prefer to take it off the back of my hand (I don’t have a bullet) so taking it when I’m driving is difficult. If I really want some while I’m driving I’ll just pinch.

I snuff everywhere I go, but my favorite time to snuff is after dinner and a shower when my nose is reset and I can fully enjoy a schmalzler.

I like to snuff in front of the computer when I am working on some writing, or while playing a video game. Snuff seems to give me better concentration when playing a good shooter or role playing game.

Only at home after work,then i know what i missed during the day.

@prismaster I third that. I usually suck at shooter games but after a couple pinches of Cairo there’s a noticeable increase in my reaction time and I can do pretty good. Video games and snuff make each other better

I fourth that!  Team Fortress 2 and some Ozona Raspberry.  Otherwise I take pinches off the back of my hand in the office  or anytime I want a fresh  bump.  Ii find putting your fingers up to your nose in public may appear like you are trying to get something out rather than in…so I will use the bullet or back of the hand if unsure of my surroundings.  Being outside though exposes you to different temps and certainly fresh oxygene which no doubt opens up the bouquets of snuffs.

I don’t like snuffing and video games combined. Don’t you people know that is what snus is for?

I too like snuff during video game sessions, much easier than trying to smoke a pipe while playing I find.  Other than that, I snuff at work frequently.  Haven’t done a pinch around strangers though, feels kind of weird, but I’m sure that will pass eventually.

Anywhere. Im not saying I was always cool with it, and for the longest time I was very discreet, but at about the time I became middle aged I absolutely stopped caring. Who cares what an old bloke does? Young people, we’re not on their radar, people our own age we either know well or don’t care what they think. And that must be the single good thing I can think of in getting old.

Everywhere. Like it’s been said, if you are casual about it, most other people will be too. Coincidently, that goes for alot of things in life.

I love whipping it out in front of earth people, my snuff that is ! and offer them a go. They think I am crazy as they choke on a cigarette. I will snuff on a train on a plane, in a house with a mouse, in a tree with a key, with a fox in her box, I will snuff here or there,I will snuff every where.With a coffee or a tea my snuff and the brier you will see.

I think Mr. Shaman is telling a lie. He doesn’t snuff with mice.

A month back I remember saying somewhere on this forum that I don’t snuff on my desk, and that has changed since then. I snuff at my desk, and of course while I try to be discreet (not make a sound while sniffing), I don’t care if anyone is looking. Probably I’ll just tell them its meds for my sinuses, if asked, from an Ayurveda doctor seated in the mountains

I wonder where don’t I snuff. Anywhere anytime. I am only discrete when there are children around and when I blow my nose, to avoid disgusting people, otherwise I am shameless.

I usually snuff indoors. I tend to take it too deep if I’m outside.  And always over a trashcan cuz I’m messy.

Mostly at home, but will take a snuffbox with me when out and about. I only use sparingly when away from home, as to avoid getting any runs or forward drips. I don’t mind using snuff publicly, so long as I can maintain due decorum. At home, I don’t mind stepping up a gear or two, as there’s nobody to be repulsed if I get a little untidy.

I snuff most places. The hospital I work at is tobacco free, so I’m discrete at work.

Only once in a Cop station. Only did that the once after being held up for 2 hours.

Snuff anywhere, indoors outside and at work but still have problems in letting anyone see me do it. Don’t know why I feel this way as I never had a problem lighting up a fag in public but for some reason I’m still unsure how folks would react if they see me taking a pinch.
