There was a thread where we were posting places we live in. I think it would be nice if we made a map so we can see where is the highest concentration of snuffers I’ve made a map on Google Maps. Anyone is able to edit that, but only people with direct link can possibly see that. Zoom out, click “add tag”, choose on the map the place you live in and write your nick down in the description. I added all people who write specified cities in “where snuff devotees” live. I didn’t put anyone in if one write only “Oklahoma” or “Ohio”.

In using my phn,i can see map just fine but nothing to put flag on with.will get my pc running tomorrow and try from there.

@indiansnuff if you type address in the field and then click “add to the map”, companies shall have “details from google maps” after clicking on it

@cloudyman I do everything from my phone. I had to switch out of desktop mode to android mode in my web browser to get the map to work.

@distaind thank you and without pomposity… I thought that might be the appropriate course of action but, alas i have a cheap android which doesn’t offer me that option from the O.S. It is regrettable, unfortunately it’s all I have to work with at the moment. If I’m still missing something I am open to input. Thank you for your help it was considerate and I do appreciate it. Will keep trying.

Snuff is incredibly popular among the underages in Poland - http://snuffhouse.org/discussion/comment/303073/#Comment\\_303073 But they mostly give snuff up at some point of their lifes - they switch to cigarettes or no nicotine at all. I know personally 2 people who are still into regular, varied snuffing and around 4-5 people who are into it, but not hardly. However, I always have somebody to Snuffcheers while meeting with friends. Usually almost everyone wants a small pinch at least.

@Viertel one of my best friend is Polish and uses snuff as well. Good jobs he’s moving to England next week, will have a snuff partner then hehe

Yup, you’re observation is quite correct. We in West Norway cling on to the wildest and most impossible places. But my town is not as impossible as it seems… it’s an old industrial town called Odda and lies in a valley between two mountains, the west mountain being the carrier for one of our countries most famous glaciers and the other being the table top of our most famous elevated plateau range. We get a lot of tourists here that like mountain climbing, glacier walking and trekking. I’m not from here, but I love the area. I’m from Bergen basically.

Ah very nice. I spent a few weeks in Bergen years ago. Great city! I made friends with a couple that owned a small pub there and they and their small staff made me feel very much at home and really treated me well when I was so far from my own home for a long time.

@mario84 no it was called “The Harp Irish Pub” its probably not there anymore, or changed hands by now. This was about 1996 or 97 when I was there. The owner was Norwegian though, and his wife was Scottish. One of the bartenders was Irish, though.

Hey @Viertel How about a third level - where we can pin shops we KNOW to sell snuff. This could be a fantastic resource for snuffers out of town, infact more useful than the pinned manufacturers (they don’t seem to have sales counters.) Super fantastic if the mods made it a sticky !!

@Hoffwell, unfortunatelly, adding more layers is not free. And it would made a mess on the map because of too many pins. But it is not a problem to make the second map! I think it would nice to tag shops and internet stores either. And remember to click on a proper layer before you tag. Also, please remember to write in description the whole address so the others are able to find it. Of course, if you’ve got the time, you can write what kind of snuff there are. Just added my place on Spokane River in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. People from Coeur d’Alene call it CDA.

I live in Valais, the most southern part of Switzerland and the winemaking capital right next to the Alps. It’s very beautiful here, mountains all around me. I moved here 2 months ago. I much prefer it to Zurich, where I lived for the last 13 years. It’s taking some time switching from German to French though!

It’s unfortunate the map got deleted somehow, it looks as though the layer was removed. Is there a more robust map sharing app/site that would allow some sort of moderation? Google maps is handy but clumsy to use and prone to accidents or trolling.

I just added myself, but it shows up as Clark, which is where my post office box is, about 15 miles north of the ranch I live on.

786 I think I did it correctly…@1sweetbriar I couldn’t find “add tag” either, I suspect it’s a typo. “Add marker” is what I used.
Re: zooming out, a) it’s already zoomed out to the furthest, b) zooming out accomplishes nothing because the act of zooming in close enough to find one’s domicile negates the “add marker” so that one may use the hand to move the map over, a necessary evil when zooming in closer to home.  I would amend the instructions to something like “Zoom in, click ‘add marker’, choose on the map the place you live in and write your nick down in the title” instead of “Zoom out, click ‘add tag’, choose on the map the place you live in and write your nick down in the description.”

note: I have no earthly clew why the font changed in the middle of my post.  Computers are always doing silly sh1+ like this to me.
