Even in my snus buying days, I never bought more than about $60 worth at a time, and since I switched primarily to snuff my orders have been closer to $20 at a time. This year’s tax refund is a jolly good one, and I’ve allowed myself to go a lil wild. I’m terrified of a large order getting greatly delayed, or lost entirely, but i feel that splitting my order up will greaten my odds of losing snuff. What is a good dollar amount to cut an order off, and start another one?
When you reach the limit of what you can no longer afford to lose? IDK man but what I’d suggest instead if you’re planning on doing a huge order is buy from the manufacturers themselves where possible. Put an order in with Toque, Sharrow Mills, De Kralingse, etc, then just pick up the odds and ends from one of the usual retailers. This will hedge your bets and provide you with some factory-fresh snuff at the same time.
My usual order is around $40-60, but that’s driven more by budget than by concern for whether it will arrive safely. Given the recent homeland security issues, an order under 500g sounds most likely not to be unduly delayed.
@street carp that’s very sound advice and what I normally do. I do most of my business with Roderick for this reason. I never even thought about buying factory direct from the others…i swear I’m a dizzy blonde sometimes…lol! The only problem is i’m getting 2 or 3 at the very most from the different manufacturers i’d end up doing 10 or so different orders. @ddavelarsen 500g sounds like a sensible number…if i just split it in 2 it will keep me way under 500 per. I probably have a much different idea of a huge order than most people…hahaha! $40-60 is big to me…anything over 100 is huge…i’m poor though…lol! Thanks very much for your input guys, i feel much better in the fact that this isn’t quite the massive order I thought it was.
This is truly a wonderful problem to have! Worrying about making too large an order… Wish I had that problem, but my orders always seem so small and insufficient to me; I want it ALL and I want it all NOW! 
Trust me this isn’t a problem i’ve ever had before! My usual orders are $15-20…the past 2 i’ve made have been closer to 15 so needless to say i’ happier than a pig in shit right now!!!
@Roderick I’ve never had a problem with a late shipment from you, but heck with your prices $15-20 per order keeps me WELL stocked up on Toque!
My last order was 3.5kg in weight -$350 worth. It arrived from MrSnuff in 3 days. Dave did insist on postal tracking though and I got quite a nasty Customs bill with it. In future I’m limiting orders to 500g and no more than $100 worth. Those size orders often slip past Customs.
Yep…that seals it…two order split. Less than $100 and 500g per order. That works out perfect! Thanks guys! OHh, and $350…holy mother of peter pan…I’d be cuttin backflips if i could place an order like that…once again Oscar, the offer still stands…I’m lookin for a rich benefactor…lol!!!
