What's your favorite outdoors snuff?

Some snuff scents seem to lend themselves well to the out of doors.

What do you do outside? Have you found a snuff that is more enjoyed in nature?

Personally i’ve found Wilsons of Sharrow Rose to be a wonderful snuff while disc golfing. Flowers on the breeze, even in the dead of winter.

Poschl has fallen out of favor with my nose, but the fruity ones are excellent outside.  Seem to last forever!

These are all great suggestions. Now if only the rain would stop :(

Viking Dark or SWS Lundy Foot are both totally different outdoors. For most snuffs being outdoors enhances the flavor profile but it really comes out on these.

I played Disc Golf just the other day , It was muddy and slippery and I loved every minute of it. There was still unmelted  snow in some shady areas. And every snuff I had with me was even better outdoors.

I did make the mistake of using some mentholated snuff in the freezing weather and it made the air that much colder, Live and learn.

I have a theory that our primal hunting & survival senses hick in to high gear when we go outdoors. So our sense of smell was as important as our other senses to hunt game or avoid predators hunting us. And while indoors they are at rest.

@basement_shaman What’s your home course buddy? I grew up and learned to play in Michigan with Stony Creek and River Bends as my home courses. Now i’m out in Oregon and call Dabney State park home. What you’re describing reminds me of springtime disc golf in the Midwest.

Mentholated snuff in the freezing air sounds like a brutal eye opener!

Your theory offers a plausible explanation, i buy it. Suppose that might apply to the other senses as well.

@Noisebox I used to play  Doggiewoods & Pleasure mountain at FrenchCreek State park. But they closed both of them and combined the two and relocated to a different part of the park a few yrs back. http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=3108   I don’t like the lay out and I can’t play for 5 to 6 hours. I used to play http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=51. I just started to play at Kenilworth Park  http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=6961. Just 10 minutes up the road. It’s a easy layout and a rather new 18 hole course. I like the heavily wooded course over wide open ones it really hones your game this is not a hard one .I did a little better than par and only played once so that should improve also.

I prefer to snuff poschls gawith apricot outdoors. The Apricot shines a lot more when outdoors. I can still smell it, but its a big difference between outdoors and indoors.

I also play disc golf. I usually smoke a pipe when playing. Ill have to give the snuff a try.

For some reason I don’t seem to snuff much outdoors. I need to change that if I’m to wean myself off the vape. I think two of the best snuffs for capturing the outdoors for when you can’t get out and about are Sea Breezes and Grousemoor.

@50ft_trad What a great twist on the topic, these two are going on my wish list. I have found Kendal Brown Original to be a wonderful snuff for recalling memories of outdoor activities.

@Noisebox I think it depends on the outdoor scents you familiarise with. I do like Kendal Brown, but it doesn’t give me personally the association of the outdoors. Sea Breezes really captures (to my nose) a brisk sea air, and aside from the association it’s quite a bland scent. @Tobe isn’t enamoured by it so far. A bit of light menthol, a hint of mint, and something slightly seaweedy. For me it’s all about the association and evoking pleasant memories. Grousemoor has a really pleasant scent, even if you don’t make the association. To me it smells of peat and heather, and has evokes memories of Derbyshire and the North York Moors. It is entirely possible these scents don’t convey the same effects outside of a British climate in a nose which hasn’t experienced those scents first hand as it were.
