Triple pinching Abraxas Premium Fin. Its probably not a new technique though it is handy once you get used to it. I sometimes pinch with the thumb and index with one pinch at the same time while the middle and the ring also hold a pinch against the thumb. The little finger is taking some practice to master though. This way I can carry lots of snuff ready to snuff and I can make my hands look perfectly natural in public.

Call me crazy though I feel like im detecting alittle menthol in this. by alittle I mean a tiny minuscule amount barely detectable and fades very quickly. Theres something there that is not the Tonquin/Tonka, Vanilla berry scent.

Does anybody get this from Elmos Reserve, if you really concentrait on the scent?

@Hawaiian_Ryan The one I have is the original tin (I believe) with the picture of the dog in the yellow background. Its the same snuff that I remember, though its been a good 5 weeks or so out of stock.  I just notice a very very slight mentholish aroma as I pinch this snuff, and dissipates within a couple of seconds in the nose. I’m not sure if this is menthol or another similar ingredient or property of one of the scents that is giving me this impression.

de.Kralingse~Chococreme-L maybe when they changed the batch they didn’t clear the menthol from the batch before the made yours. I stocked up a while ago so I hope its all the same I hope. peace and aloha :-c

The reason that it is called limited edition is that it is not a snuff recipe, but a clever byproduct of the processing of other snuffs. So it is inevitable that the character of Crazy George will differ from one batch to the next. If you like the one you just bought, it’s a good idea to hoard a good supply more of it and soon, before the batch changes.

Back on the 965 mix, much tastier than Bullseye but the Bullseye does have a pleasant grassy fragrance that is well complimented by the other tobaccos.

@Juxtaposer - Do you toast or otherwise dry the tobaccos before milling? Also, do you add Sodium Carbonate into it?

Here in Las Vegas pipe tobacco dries out quickly. I am grinding it as it dries out getting my hand on the pestle at least a few times a day. After a day I’ll start snuffing it with no sieving or alkalizers or anything. I knock it around in the mortar before each pinch. The ph adds an interesting component to it. Mind you I am grinding very small amounts. Adding the more fragrant 965 with another snuff has boosted the nic o bit.

6P Indian Curry - I’ll need some time to fully form my opinion on this, but my nose likes it.

newbiesnuffer I am waiting on a small sample of the same. It has peeked my interest. 

I’ll bite (indian curry). I just did a 6P coffee kick before i I read this thread, but… curry has the same menthol top note. Newbiesnuffer is right… time is needed to get through the cool first impression to get to the bite i feel approaching. It tastes more like a single pepper than a curry flavor. The cool inhale is still overpowering the pepper. It reminds me of adding cayenne pepper to fake dip to get off grizzly/skoal. Just a faint taste. Nice though. Cheers   :]

I’m trying out some cheap local snuffs, well worth the price.

Right now I’m snuffing Rape Mentolado Tupi (medicated, medium-fine grind, sweet and semi-dry). Great bang for the buck (50 USD cents for 12g tin), but the flavor isn’t amazing and it’s a little bit weak for my taste. Nothing that can’t be fixed by doing more generous pinches.

Found a tin of crumbs of comfort in a jacket pocket.  I still don’t like it.  Might mix with some Hedges to try and recreate prime minister.

@Aamon  I ended up mixing my schweizer into something else because there was too much going on there for me.  I may give it another go one day.

@newbiesnuffer  Sparrow Cool = fine & dry ,a bit easier than a white, natural tobacco base with light menthol. I think you will enjoy it. A little goes a long way. The nicotine is fast on the up take but not overwhelming strong. So you will be able to do repeated pinches all day without your head swimming in Vitamin N. 

Will be interested on your experience with it.

Okay first to say tastes in smell change is a complete understatement. When I first started snuffing I picked up some Bernard Zwiefacher Schmalzler and absolutly hated it. It smelled like a desert that I hated and couldnt flush the scent from my nose for the life of me. Just pulling out the Zweiefacher and now for the first time in 10 months and I cannot keep it out of my nose. Nice nicotine hit too I though Schmalzers were supose to be lacking in this department

I really need to start using up my part used tins and start streamlining my hoard, so it’s time to properly get stuck in. I’m enjoying it too.

@50ft_trad  I bought a bunch of crazy George tins when it first came out. I didn’t employ it much then ,somehow with age it has a different appeal. I been enjoying it also.  Mine is very fruit forward sweet and sharp somehow the combination works into a good blend. One of many that can never be duplicated. I know you are not much for menthol but adding a small amount like 2% of toque menthol makes the flavor pop even more. 

@basement_shamen You’re quite right, it does take a while. My own reject blend was exactly the same. It’s become a wonderful snuff, which considering that it’s 500g of snuff I didn’t like, is really quite impressive. It takes a while for the flavours to infuse though, and for all the various sharp edges to round off. My Crazy George has some fruit and a tiny hint of floral, but also some deeper flavours like coffee, chocolate and maybe brandy. It’s quite a satisfying snuff in that respect. I’ve been using it again today. It must have been quite densely packed and the tin keeps “refilling” as I use it and it fluffs up in the space created. Menthol for me is not just a matter of taste, but possibly an allergy or intolerance. It gives me a real burn, even in small quantities, and gives me very sore nostrils. I can tolerate the small amounts in Kailash and Anarkali, but only as an occasional pinch. If I use them too frequently, they stop being enjoyable too. I will bear that in mind though, and possibly try it as a “condiment” on snuffs that seem to be lagging a bit.

Dark Burley Cabinet. While I was grinding the burley for the Hannover I collected the dust from the lid of the coffee grinder. Like the dust off the snuffmill cabinets that was gifted to dignitaries. Very fine and oil rich.

@yisraeldov ohh man its a beautiful true Raspberry scent, not artificial at all.  Feels like the usual Toque grind, and the classic biscuity Toque base, with medium nicotine. I grew up on a farm so I have fond memories of picking fresh Raspberries, this snuff brings me back to that time and place, a real joy to use. The scent isnt very long lasting, the Raspberry scent fades after a couple of minutes into that biscuit Toque base. I’m also a big fan of the Raspberry Menthol, that one feels like a swig of cool Raspberry soda on a hot day. The Silver Dollar Raspberry is the same snuff I believe with menthol levels between the Raspberry and Raspberry menthol.

These I always “try” to keep stocked in my stash.

@newbiesnuffer My review (Inna Pinch) was based off of a fresh tub.  Tapboxes, for almost any snuff, are horrible for any kind of long term storage.  Obvious exception would be Bernards Schmalzlers.
