I seen to open tins more often then finishing one. Please share your first impressions Today I opened Dholakia coffee cream- similar to Wow coffee bite but creamier
Wos Apple and Black Currant
Dholakia Swiss Chocolate for the first time and man it was blissful. Sorry Toque but your Chocolate is not one of my favourites, it actually put me off buying the Dholakia because I find it to be a bit like hot chocolate powder. Anyway, the Swiss Chocolate tastes very authentic to me and I love the consistency. If only it were a tin I opened and not a plastic pot, that’s the only thing resembling a complaint.
This evening I opened a lot of tins for the first time - Dholakia Chocolate Rose, Toque Camphor & Clove, Dean Swift Specific, Molens Mettaijer, Viking Blonde, GH Sea Breezes, SG Ma’s Ruin and Gin & Tonic. I am in love with them all. In fact from my new order the only one I haven’t tried yet is WoS Irish Toast 21, and that’s just because I can’t get the blasted thing open…
Finally opened the Irish Toast #21 - had to cut the tin open and decant into another minor WoS tin. First trouble i’ve had with a Wilson’s tin in 5 years… anyway, the snuff is very nice, somewhere between the #20 & #22 in that it is nutty and smoky but still has a tiny scent of SP to it, IMO.
Silver Dollar Spearmint. Haven’t been able to afford to place online orders, but I’m stuck with what we sell at the shop I work at. Considering it’s Silver Dollar and Toque USA, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Grand Cairo, in a 10g tin, about 2 YO and hasn’t lost a step…
Packard’s Club Snuff- the dispenser is a love hate thing.Love when it works hate when it don’t. can’t get past the menthol to enjoy the scent. I do like the effect!

@basement_shaman I keep 2 refilled dispensers with me at ALL times. I mean ALL times! I just woke up a few minutes ago with both of them in my hand. HOPEFULLY I’ll be falling asleep again in a few minutes, and guess where they’ll be?
toque quit. I am sure there is rustica in it. It smells like rustica which i used it as dipping for many years.
Viking Brown
SG Firedance. I couldn’t find any reviews online but ordered it partly because I liked the name, and partly because some members here regard it highly. I can see why. A wonderful snuff, with blackberry and vanilla flavours with a hearty tobacco base.
Now for the GH Irish D. It’s almost exactly like a US Scotch. It has that BBQ smokiness to it that other UK toasts don’t.
Peeled off the green tape around the lids of 2 WoS tins ‘Irish coffee’ & ‘Coffee cream’ Part of todays “Coffee challenge” which will be fun.
I did the exact same thing this morning before I even read your post.
GH Dry Orange. Very nice. Medium moist, very like Toque Toast & Marmalade without the toast.
GH Dry Orange. Very nice. Medium moist, very like Toque Toast & Marmalade without the toast.
Sounds more like “medium moist orange” to me. I had a tap box of that years ago and it was EXTREMELY dry. I think that was the first snuff that I tried that wasn’t an American scotch or a Poschl menthol. Nearly choked to death on it lol.
Found a store in Richmond that sells General Swedish Snus. I bought a couple of cans and opened them yesterday. Pretty much a straight tobacco flavor. They also had pipe tobacco mixed by a local blender. Good quality tobacco and the price was decent (less than $3.00 an ounce). I got the Virginia Blend and Latakia Blend.
SG Toffee. Deep tobacco flavour and a nice but not overpowering toffee scent. @EricJ: I know what you mean. One of the first snuffs I bought when I started about 5 years ago was GH Strawberry in a tap box. I knew no better at the time. It was foul - bone dry and strangely perfumed; it was like sniffing Shake N Vac. Totally put me off all GH snuffs until very recently.
Silver Dollar Blueberry and also Silver Dollar Apricot.
SG Gin & Tonic
SG Red Crest- Nice, finer then most SG I tried before ,the tin note was a slight apricot a bit on the sour side, in the nose it is moist, easy to use, I will have to spend some time with it before I give a review.
Rooster
London Brown and Musinotabak
One of those small tins of WoS Apple & Blackcurrant. worth the $.79 I paid for it. Quite moist ,fine, and the scent lasts for a short time. easy to use. The granny smith apple is up front not much blackcurrant. could use some Dholakia white or Wille Pete to bump the nicotine.
Vikas Grover is a very good blender, one of the best. It’s seems hard to imagine the snuff world without Indian snuff but only a few years ago most of us had never tried it.
Hm… I think the scorpion on the packages is not their logo, that’s just part of the ususal “you will die” warning
@lunecat you are right I am a scorpion as well. And a Six Photo fan, especially Kailash
I’m Scorpio too
Oh man… So many choices… So little time…
McChrystal’s Violet- subtle scented ,silky fine and easy
Me Scorpio too, and also like the Super Kalaish, and the Special +others…
Sparrow Cool…menthol is much subtler in this one, compared to other menthols.
The Sparrow Cool is good, I find it much more pleasant than the D. Medicated. Maybe a bit finer than I’d like, though…
@lunecat a little goes a long way ,Just pinch more often. The black 6photo snuffs I use a instrument like my pipe knife or a spoon. They seem to stain everything. I was lucky enough to win a prize pack of 6 photo, and got to sample them all. I had cheeta from a Pot Luck 2010 or 11. That is a bone dry one, scented.
McChrystal’s Supermint… Like Altoids for the nose…
Re-opened a tin of WoS Strasbourg just now and wondering why I’ve left it so song. A beautiful SP, zesty and spicy.
Re-opened a tin of WoS Strasbourg just now and wondering why I’ve left it so song. A beautiful SP, zesty and spicy.
Same here. Wonderful stuff, flavored with citron (etrog). First thing tomorrow…
SG Lavender Dark. Dark is very appropriate. My tap box had Semi coarse grind, very reminiscent of their Black Coffee. No floral notes but does have that background burn… Not bad stuff so long as you are not looking for a floral bouquet…
Toque USA Spanish Brandy. That stuff is unbelievably good.
WoS Raspberry - Very artificial and heavy on the menthol -It’s nice
Opened a Stok Cola tonight. I don’t know if I like it yet.
Toque Bourbon. Nice fine grind, subtle but pleasant flavor and that background burn… Nice//!!..
Opened Dhoklia Black and NTSU Black, The NTSU would not work in the bullet I was going to carry and I wanted to let the Dhoklia rest for a day after smelling it.
Poschl Lowen-Prise crisp menthol and lite aniseed scent
Covent Golden and Covent Strawberry. The Golden is beautiful, a restrained floral aroma. The Strawberry hasn’t aired out comletely yet, but if it’s the same as I remember it’ll be lovely, more of a wild strawberry plant than just the fruit.
Abraxas Dragun, Babaton Blue, NTSU Black, Bernard Brasil Doppelt Fermentifert, Aecht Altbayerischer, Abraxas Cafe 11…none of them are tins though, but all fine snuff… All first time I tried them except CAFE 11
Oh forgot Viking Dark and Black Rappee early this morning, WOW is that Rappee BLACK … Holy Moly… First time I tired those 2 as well… I actually like the VIKING BROWN better than the dark… I think I will have to revisit the Viking Dark all by itself for awhile ( since I heard such great things about it…I am in the process of decanting all my snuffs roughly about 100 or so snuffs into glass bottles… first time I really have worked with the snuff…kind of fun pouring it… Lol and packing them glass bottles tight with snuff
Poschl Alpina not heavy on the menthol I was expecting pine, but it is fruity some berry mix, I seem to be liking more of the poschl line.
In the middle of the night cracked open some WoS Cherry Menthol…
SG Lavender Dark. Dark is very appropriate. My tap box had Semi coarse grind, very reminiscent of their Black Coffee. No floral notes but does have that background burn… Not bad stuff so long as you are not looking for a floral bouquet…
When will people learn NEVER BUY SG TAPBOXES!!! Lavender Dark is supposed to be very moist and it does have a very pleasant lavender scent, the reason yours doesn’t is because all the flavour evaporated away long before it got to you. If my Lavender Dark dried out on me it would go straight in the bin, I can’t imagine it being any good once its dried out. We Snuffhousers need to band together and boycott English tapboxes, they’re an abomination!
i think i am the first one in this forum who tried 6photo snuffs and i have requested snuffreviews(closed now) to add this brand to their list. I am very proud of it. Today i opened gawith apricot which is sold at local store. I generally don’t prefer german snuffs but when i use i consume them surprisingly very quickly.
Paul Gotard Rhubarb. Neat little bottle. Judicious use of menthol. Very pleasant. Can’t argue with you @n9inchnails. You got it right. Only reason had the tap box is bought the floral sampler from Mr. Snuff. Still, even though the aroma is certainly not what would expect, the background tobacco is alright and I am sure I will use it. BUT, will now be getting a 25g tin to find out what I have been missing out on…
ganga-manjul and sparrow for the first time. All wonderful.
Radford premium Nice balance of menthol
SG ‘Mandarin’ Dholakia : ‘Ganga’ & ‘Aniseed menthol’
The aniseed menthol is one of my favorite aniseed snuffs and the nicotine level is awesome
Toque Lime Toast–it’s been sitting in the cellar for 7 or 8 months, biding its time. It’s a good’un.
Today I cracked open a tin of Viking Blonde. I’m trying to figure this one out.
I have opened a tin of SG Menthol Black (first experience opening the SG vac tin - 2p coin did the trick), a tin of WoS SM Blue, and a tin of SG Raspberry. Liking them all. SG Menthol Black is like having a steam engine in your nose.
from local store
>:D<
Just cracked open a box of Tiger Cherry - my first tap box, and my first non-nic snuff (not counting the time I snorted some ground up polo mints at colledge years ago, to wind someone up it was something else :-" ) Conclusions: I’m not a fan of tap boxes, and the snuff is like the old Pez sweets from years ago (do they still make them?)
Blast wine & cheese- soft & subtle same base as swiss chocolate. not heavily scented
Toque Pomegranate and I actually found some SD Cherry. Both are quite good. The pomegranate taste is very well done indeed.
Sugandh Sagar (Rose) Snuff description on first pinch a rose scented toast in dryness and grind & smooth texture easy to use with a great rose scent that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome from the web site=Having its own unique properties, Sugandh Sagar Gulab Brand Snuff is rich in sweetness, stiffness and coolness and has pleasant smell of real roses and treasure of fragrance and it is mixture of its perfume and fragrant ingredients which gives you original fragrance of roses.
@basement_shaman do you have a link to that website? Last time I looked that company had no web presence that I could find.
@Xander… Here’s the link to that snuff http://hookah1.com/index.php?main\\_page=product\\_info&cPath=17\\_18&products\\_id=71
Has anyone used and recived product from this source ( hookah1.com ) ?
@AANYCAARDS Thanks. A member a while back found some at a local Indian market and procured a bunch for some members. Its interesting one.
Has anyone used and recived product from this source ( hookah1.com ) ?
When I tried to use their shopping cart it was out of commission, had to email my order, they sent an invoice, and then pay with paypal or an alternative. Shipped fast, reasonable shipping charge. No monkey business.
A 500g drum of SG Black Rappee - yum!
50g SWS Lundy Foot (which just arrived). Superb snuff!
Hedges L260 Stings a bit on first try. Gets the juices flowing. need a tissue. not the strongest menthol but it is up there.Did I mention snot.now after 15min. I am clogged WTF, I guess I will try more, Still a little sting and a slight eye tear. Got some sniffling going on, clogged again. This is not my ideal snuff and where is the nicotine? I need my 6 Photo special, ah now I can breath
@lunecat Schmalzler type snuffs are best fresh. If you have a vacuum sealing system.Get the hundred gram bags, divide them up in 10 gram packets, open when needed. Store in cooler. Your going to need a spoon or not. I stored mine in glass and they changed somehow. they are still tasty but not like fresh
Oooohh - vacuum sealing! Never considered that. Does that work with a standard domestic sealer, and is it suitable for all snuffs or just the more moist ones? I wouldn’t want it sniffing my gear out of the bag
@50ft_trad if you bag the fine snuff then vac it ,I see no problem. Should last till you get to alpha centauri
@basement_shaman Thank you kindly, I shall give that a go for educational purposes
This morning i popped open a tin of WoS Tangerine that ive had for a few weeks but hadnt opened yet. Tasty, although i might add a little Red Bull for a bit of menthol.
A fresh 50g tin of F&T Old Paris. Lovely stuff.
F&t french carrotte, torque quit, ntsu black, SG vanilla, Abraxas connisure, and cafe 11. My Mr snuff order came in today they all are very fresh. Still trying to get that fabled new order buzz everyone speaks of with no luck. …damn 10+ year smoking habit lol
Bernard Offenbacher Cardinal. My first box. Very interesting, clean tobacco, subtle sweetness, reminds me of vanilla, although I’m pretty sure there’s none there. The first pinches also suggest freshly sawed wood, which is not a bad thing.
@lunecat
FUBAR FUGAZI Black Joe - love this one smooth, fine milled, coffee flavour, with just a hint of burnt aroma about it - very pleasant indeed A+. > All arrived about 30mins ago in the post. just had to pop the Black Joe first…
I am envious ,place my order when it hit the shelf, arrived in the USA , Monday sitting at customs. thank for the preview
Wos Ylang Ylang
Blast Brandy Maple very similar to their other blast products, same base tobacco with a slight hint of said scent. I kinda wish they would put the manufacture date on them, Also the plastic tub being shrink rap does little to keep it fresh as the last three tubs the lid had been cracked. possible someone from the Dholakia camp will take notice and address this packaging dilemma. I have enough unscented snuff already
6 Photo Natural, the coolest little plastic “tin”, about the Dia. of a quarter and an inch tall. Or if you prefer 2cm. Diameter by 2.6 cm. Interesting snuff inside also.
WoS Lemon toast very nice subtle lemon scent ,great nicotine hit. Just fill the snuff box first hit made my nose and eye run, second hit stayed and the nicotine is working. And the throat drip is Ok
Gawith Cola
Railroad Mills Checkerberry and Swisher Society. The Checkerberry is excellent - reminds me of root beer. The Society seems a bit dull, but I will persevere…
Fubar Fugazi Black Joe and his sister Fugazi menthol , Nice burn very fluffy snuff no throat hit, the menthol is cool and clearing. Transferred into 2 oz glass jars ,filled to the top
Firedrac. First time trying it. Kind of enjoying the burn.
F&T French Carotte very easy on the nose, Delicious scent, a beautiful creation
WoS Lemon & Lime, the lime is front and center at first and quickly fades. 500g tub of Tom Buck got jarred up this morning.
WOW Coffee Bite. Forever in search of new coffee flavors. This does indeed taste of coffee, well mannered and toned down, maybe with just a touch of cream. Tasty but still not up to my all time favorite coffee snuff… SG Black Coffee!!!
Another 25G tin of Samuel Gawith Cola. This has to be the best Cola snuff hands down, just like hanging your nose above a fresh Coca Cola on ice, absolutely wonderful… and 10 times better out of a tin instead of a tapbox.
WoS Lemon Toast
Toque lime toast, SPX, SP, Q, original and marmalade toast
Sir Walter Scott’s Lundy Foot… Very nice. Not quite as fine as some other toasts. Very pleasant flavor. Easy to take…
WoS Best SP. Again…
Wow Fruit Cake. I’m trying to use up old tins but it’s painful when I’ve got fresh snuff on hand. Still, this Fruit Cake is just about passable.
Silver Dollar Spearmint. Nice spearmint flavor, no noticeable burn.
Dean Swift Black Watch and SP.
Today we have European Night of Museums, so we can go to every museum for free. So I had a long walk with my girlfriend, we’ve visited many museums, and… sometimes there was a tobacco shop on our way… so I bought: WoS Best Dark WoS Blueberry WoS Chocolate Orange Samuel Gawith Guarana Samuel Gawith Black Coffee Samuel Gawith Gold Mull Amostrinha J.H. Wilson Medicated no99 And discovers of the month are WoS Blueberry and SG Guarana. I have not known them before, but now I’m in love with them. Amazing stuff.
SG Afterglow
25g Dholakia White, after blowing through my first 25g.
Toque Blueberry. Meh.
SWS Mull of Oa quite smokey
Toque Rose. I do enjoy the floral scents.
Dholakia Manjul It is not what I expected. I was anticipating a strong clove presence hot and spicy. As fine as the grind is; it is rather nice on the nose with a cooling clearing effect. It sort of reminds me of prime minister but without the spearmint
25gm tin of F.U.B.A.R. grunt
Wos Lemon Toast
Sws mull of oa,the smell is amazing like nothing else i got so far.very smoky love it.
Buzz Bubble Gum
SG Firedance. Fruity, like sweets, but with a very dark, tarry, kind of note on first taking. Delicious.
Mississippi
WoS Lavender
Quit with snuff smokers blend. I like it ,the same base flour as most of the Dholakia offerings with no scenting. Give’s a good solid nic hit.
Poschl Edel Frucht refreshing light fruity scent well balanced, lite on nicotine
Viking Peach. Nice burn and tobacco flavor, balanced nicely with the peachy sweetness. Definate reorder!
Elmo’s Reserve and KB original.
FUBAR Grunt
SG Chocolate
new tin of Viking Blonde
Dholakia Sparrow Cool - I had forgotten how much I like this fine snuff and the great nicotine hit that come so quickly
Dholakia sparrow, Dholakia Swiss chocolate and molens Bon Bon. As it’s my birthday, I finally got to open the package that I’ve had sitting here for for a week. They’re all delicious in their own unique way. I’m going to dive into the Bon Bon, again. Yes, delicious but a bit more subtle than I expected and I’m worried about the mold warning label on the lid, though.
SG Blue Crest- I wasn’t planing on opening it, came with red tape around the lid. Seems fresh enough. also got thunder chew that the seal was cut open what’s the deal with that? And a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to @peppernut1
Read the above too fast @basement_shaman… Could have sworn you wrote SG Blue Cheese… sort of sent shivers… Though who knows???
F&T Princes Special - one of the better snuffs with the princes name, This snuff was made for royalty!
Quit with Snuff “Jasmine”. Found it in my misc snuff drawer, has weird aroma.
Quit with Snuff “Jasmine”. Found it in my misc snuff drawer, has weird aroma.
It’s the only QWS I couldn’t tolerate; don’t know about yours, but mine was way over-scented.
@mouse agree x10. The sandlewood was way over the top for me too.
WoS Queens Best. Very nice, I am really enjoying this. WoS Peppermint, nice Peppermint but it seems sweet and lacking in Vitamin N.
Railroad mills plain & Square Scotch. They have their subtle differences, I am leaning towards the Square.
J&HW Top Mill No.1 - a new style round tin from Black Swan. Fresh and delicious!
WoS S.P.
WoS SM500
Fubar Bohica!
McChrystal’s S.P.
De Kralingse Mississippi tabak - been keeping it in the fridge, Just did a massive box car full. Reminds me of Redrose tea, Just the scent I don’t snuff tea leaves. It settling in now. Just got a slight throat drip, not unpleasant. Now unexpected double sneeze.Three tissues later my nose is clear. Trying some more, slight nose burn and I am getting warm ,the nicotine is being receptive and some more drip. These course grinds do need adjusted methodology, I will have to try smaller and more doses rather than jumbo boxcars. All in all it is a masterpiece creation. Just empty the awkward tap box into a Mr.Snuff box, back in the fridge it goes till my next adventure. Wait one more double tute ,Ok I am set for awhile. sniffle sniffle.
Dark Horse Clove, Raspberry
American Peach Sweet snuff And it certainly is sweet and mild, tin note of straight Virginia tobacco .decent nic hit. pleasant throat drip. I will have to try some in the lip
WoS Ylang Ylang
Wos Grand Cairo & Best Dark
McChrystal’s Special Plain
Title should be “what tin did you attempt to open!” 6 photo #66. Took me about twenty minutes. Really nice snuff, good menthol and nicotine. I stupidly closed the tin after my pinch, then realized I would have to go through the whole process again. Got to switch it out to soemthing easier to open.
J&H Wilson SP No 1
Dholakia Super Strong Toast
Dark Horse Clove, Raspberry with free shipping this month. The clove is nicely spiced but it leaves you wanting. The raspberry is also nice very beginner friendly snuffs. the tobacco base is soft if that make sense?
@Filledwith_anger this is just another reason to decant into glass jars. other than keeping it fresh as the day you opened it.
Absolutely, I switched it out right away. There would be no way to enjoy it if I had to open that tin everytime.
Toasted rum cigar snuff - 4 Dutch Master’s coronas, 1 Miami Suites Rum(both on clearence because they got too dry, which was perfect). Total cost, $3.35, and it amounts to 25g or more. Lovely scent.
@lunecat I had the honey, What are the other two like? Brief description please
on holiday i emptied all my snuff with me and my nose had a rest for a while when i got my nicotine from nicotine gums untill i received my @mrsnuff (best friend) order today. I opened 6photo special. Wow what a snuff!
Toque Apricot. Classic Toque tobacco flour, and a hearty Apricot flavor. No menthol so a nice change from the Poschl Apricot.
McChrystal’s S.P.
SG Celtic Talisman
25g tins of Viking blonde and Viking peach. The peach proved very difficult to open.
Dholakia Taj 7gm can
Toque Limited Edition All I can say is I like it!
small tin McChrystal’s S.P.
Just got a 6p care package from Mr. Snuff. Anarkali, Kailash, and Cheeta. Ilove them all. Can’t wait to try the rest of the 6 photo line.
Wilson’s Banana- nothing like SG banana
Andechs Spezial Snuff
WoS Chilli Chocolate- Yes it burns what did you expect? if Bohica is a Red Savina then WoS CC is a jalapeno http://www.eatmorechiles.com/Scoville\\_Heat.html
Opened before I opened box 6 photo coffee kick ,Quite moist fine grind and with weaker menthol than #66
WoS Chili Chocolate. Mostly chili . I like it.
50g jar of Creme de Figue. Wow. It packs quite a punch, but I can’t stop pinching!
And I opened a tin of F&T High Dry Toast, lovely, but it’s not got much of a look in.
Just tore open this packet of 7 photo swami. Very aromatic Spice and floral perfumed. I do like it but not an everyday snuff for me.
6 Photo Super Kailash I cracked this tin last week some time. Between the ammonia and strong spice/floral scent, it smelled exactly like cat piss to me. So much that I gagged a little bit. After a week or so after being opened, the ammonia has dissipated, and is much more enjoyable now. Strong floral up front. I prefer just kailash.
@wiscsnuffer I don’t know why they named it SK it a totally different snuff. K is dark and moist and the SK is light and dry.
Dholakia Swiss Chocolate
@basement_shaman yea, completely different snuffs. It’s really misleading in a sense. May have been branded that to capitalize on the success of kailash. But than again, I am just talking out of my rear and I have no idea on the history of the 2.
SG Black coffee much different from the SGBC I had grown to love. This one has fruity notes to it. Glad I didn’t order bulk.Still a decent snuff I’ll add some oily beans to improve the BC scent
Just popped the tops of the golden and the black Himtaj .Tried the golden first very exotic the black is good but not as flavorful. They both get the shamans seal of approval <:-P
Toque SP Extra
Quit
Toque Rustica fin…lots of it
A 100g packet of Sternecker Echt Fresko. Fabulous.
Silver Dollar Original. Bergamot scented menthol. Definitely different for me. I like it! Fresh blast SP!
Silver dollar Raspberry
A 100g packet of Sternecker Echt Fresko. Fabulous.
Thats one of the snuffs I’m waiting on, whats your opinion about it?
McChrystals Clove. delicious
6 Photo Coffee Kick. Menthol with whiffs of coffee and maybe chocolate? Delicious. Need more time with this one
Wilson’s Lemon Grove. Simply amazing. Lemony citrus with a hint of bergamot? Not sure, but this one is very refreshing!
6 Photo Kailash (500 g) I’m putting some Kailash into a 200 g tin and resealing the big one.
Toque Pumpkin Pie. Nice, I am getting clove and cinnamon and a touch of sweetness. Glad I ordered a few tins.
McChrystal’s S.P.
WoS Winter Warmer. I have no idea what this scent is but it’s pretty good.
Abraxas FireDrac it has a nice little burn
5 Photo Special Snuff - I was a bit confused when I realised that it looks like a lipstick and it is purple.
WoS Apricot and Menthol. I’ll have to snuff this for a couple of days to make up my mind on this.
my first ever tin of SG Black Coffee. really nice! doesn’t smell like black coffee to me at all except for maybe a very slight hint here or there, and I can’t really describe what it does smell like, but whatever it is, it’s great
Another 30g tin of FUBAR Fugazi Black Joe.
@notlix Yes i know what you mean, they dropped the ball on this batch, BC was my favorite and all of a sudden everyone on snuff house was using it, It was out of stock for close to a year; they must of rushed this batch because it is not the same as the snuff I had loved. This is good snuff if you want more coffee scent find some oily coffee beans and toss them in with your snuff, it will pick up the flavor. You can do this with most snuff
@basement_shaman to be honest, I enjoy it enough as it is to not have to mess around with it - but I’ll keep the coffee bean suggestion in mind as a way of spicing up any future disappointing snuffs I get. thanks for the tip!
my first ever tin of SG Black Coffee. really nice! doesn’t smell like black coffee to me at all except for maybe a very slight hint here or there, and I can’t really describe what it does smell like, but whatever it is, it’s great
I completely agree with this.
F&T Patchouli
Wow Apple Pie. Doesn’t really smell like apple pie. Not a bad snuff though.
Wos Cinnamon. pretty nice scent and the tin actually came right open. :-bd
Toque Toffee…oh yeah!
Segar & Snuff: Convent Sandalwood
Mullins & Westley: Emerald Mocha
Jocks Choice
Buttercup Sweet and Society Sweet scotches. Pretty good, not overly sweet like some sweet scotches.
Honeybee Sweet Scotch. This one I took an immediate liking to.
Superior Scotch. Wow! This is even smokier than Garrett plain scotch. Good nic hit too.
Two new tins of Samuel Gawith : Banana . One from 2011 and one from 2013 . There both great !
Toque’s Toffee, Apricot, Absinthe and Blueberry
Square Scotch
Toque Xmas Pudding. I’ve started the Christmas season. First time I’ve tried something else than Ozona President. Xmas Pudding is interesting. A finely balanced rich mix which seems to reach a state of singularity in flavor. The flavor is vague, gentle and tastes exactly like pudding (it’s uncanny), but the flavor dissipates quicker than I’d like, so does it’s nicotine effect. Both are areas where President seems to be stronger. President is also way easier to use. Though I’m still learning to like Xmas P. and I’m not in the mood of trying any of my other snuffs that I got in the mail today. I like to focus on this one til I wrap my head around it completely. I read someone on the forums said it Xmas P. smells like angels, haha! I’d have to say I somehow agree! If angels have a scent it’s probably something like this! Gentle, warm, loving…
Toque Coke, Xmas Pudding, & Pomegranate
Rooster Scotch
Tap box of SG Zip. Oh man. Nead moar! And a snuffbox or two. Time to drop more money at Mr. SNUFF. Cheap hobby my anus!
Tap box of SG Zip. Oh man. Nead moar! And a snuffbox or two. Time to drop more money at Mr. SNUFF. Cheap hobby my anus!
I don’t care if your anus is a cheap hobby or not, I ain’t doing it! =; [-( ;)) (pssssttt … always worth buying the tin rather than the tap box with SG & GH)
But it was two dollah! Two dollah!
Time to put Xmas Pudding in the fridge and focus on this other newcomer from my mailbox: Samuel Gawith Dr. Verey Medicated.
McChrystal’s O&G, forgot how good it is.
tap boxes of Irish D and Irish Dlite, Cheese and Bacon
Swisher Strawberry
SG Irish D Light
Hopfen Schnupf
snuff
Abraxas St. Casura This snuff is amazing and just made it into my top five list. The packaging is unique ,Tamper proof peel to open lid with snap cap for ease of access.
Navy Sweet Scotch
Viking Brown!!!
GH Cherry & SWS Creme de Figue
Thanks @Lunecat I’ll remember to do them as two seperate posts next time
American Peach Sweet Snuff
AK Gold rolling tobacco … my last tin before attempting to go cigarette free … :-" This tin should see me through much of December, then it’s (hopefully) just snuff and e-cig after that :-SS
SWS Mull of Oa
Best Dark. I’m getting Old Paris, Black Rappee, and a hint of SP all at once. Wonderful
SG Wild Duck
25g SG Cob Gold. I have no idea what this smells like but it’s ok.
25g SG Cob Dark. What a revelation after the Cob Gold, only 4 days ago. The scent is very pronounced and delicious- I’m still not sure what the scent is - someone on Snuffreviews mentions Violet which is probably right but there is more going on- sweet and complex floral. Delicious and recommended. Also notable is that this seems to be on the brown base and not the black rappee base, like the Princes Dark, as I was expecting. I also opened Princes Gold. Again very disappointing after the Princes Dark- nowhere near the depth of flavour in the Gold. I can’t believe that the difference is purely because of the base tobacco but must be from the quantity of flavouring added.
A 5g tin of WoS Queens Extra Strong.
My last jar of Creme de Figue
Löwen Prise, fresh from Germany. The flip-top box had changed slightly in colour.
1.15 Superior
A 5g tin of WoS Cinnamon
W.E. GARRETT & SONS SCOTCH SNUFF (TRIPSIS?)
@lunecat it is very suprising. It’s a lot better than I thought it would be. Not too overpowering and the cinnamon/spice scent is great, smelling just like fresh cinnamon that one would cook with.
A 5g tin of WoS S.M.
Fichtennadel then Alpina then ozona cherry then snuffy weiss then wow coffee then wow coconut toffee then gawith cola then packards club then ozona president then MC hops then WoS banana then WoS apple the SG kendal brown and finished it all off with yhe face freezing hedges l260. This has been one of the best days of my life. =P~
@lunecat ah, so you did… I haven’t fumbled around this thread too much yet. thanks for the direction. wished to try a few more indian(s) so this is all greatly helpful.
@lunecat glad you liked the snuffs. The royal frontier mail is a personal fab of mine
Opened WoS winter warmer and Sternecker Straubinger Schmalzler very much liked the Straubinger. Actually enjoyed the winter warmer after i started on a beer nice, hazelnut ale. The beer lended to the aroma of the warmer, the warmer lended to the aroma of the beer. i actually quite liked it hard to explain “taste” of winter warmer though. I’m going to consider it a drinking snuff, like McChrystal’s Hops, i only enjoy it went i’m partaking in a nice beer. EDIT: ok i wouldn’t say i only enjoy while drinking but, more like i enjiy them more while drinking. i enjoy them without beer as well.
Second tin of TPS Black. Second @lunecat review of it. Just a shame the tins are a bit flimsy.
Not strictly a tin, more of a box but Dholakia Number 7
First impressions are its a very fine dry madras style snuff. Pretty high in nicotine content with a nice plain tobacco smell. Not as flavorful as other madras style but a lot easier on the nose. Could be a good stuff for that first thing in the morning when your half asleep and need a pick me up.
Kendall Afterglow, toque grapefruit
SWS: Mull of Oa, Auld Alliance and Moro Moro— extremely impressed
10g tin of Toque Espresso and not a tin but a 50g bag of Toque Rustica Fine ground
5g tin of WoS Tom Buck
Toque: Quit Crazy George Bourbon just had to try them all.
Another lovely J&H Wilson NO 99
McChrystal’s Original & Genuine - seeing what all the fuss was about. not bad, no rebound congestion. One thing I hate about menthol snuffs
Just tried SG Elmo’s Reserve. Very nice.
SM Blue
WoS Country Mint
25g tins of Toque Original, Berwick Brown & Natural Toast - not too keen on the Original. Anyone want to trade for it? Hit me up with an offer. I’d like to trade for a toast if possible.
While not a “Tin” in the conventional sense, I just opened an Economy Bag of Toque Natural. The much discussed ammonia scent was quite strong, so I have ‘’decanted’’ it into a handy little jar I picked up the other day that will pass as an expedient snuff box. Is it just me or is it incredibly difficult to not open everything that comes in with a mixed shipment; if just to try each?
Well, I just opened my first ever SP! I got snuff in the mail of various types and now Im enjoying a new tin of Toque’s SP Extra. It’s rather nice. It reminds me so much of this candy I once new, this certain kind of dark chocolate candy with an orange flavor. Can’t for the life of me remember what that candy is called.
Now I opened a tin of Viking Dark. I like it very much, even though I expected something more different than Brown.
And now I opened a tin of Hedges L260. Man what a powerfully menthol and eucalyptus scented snuff! I guess there is camphor in here as well. But this one blows the hinges off anything previously regarded fresh. I have to say, it’s almost too much. My nose can barely take it. It’s so fresh it makes me sneeze and run and it becomes hard to take new pinches without causing the new pinch to be all wet before it leaves my fingers. It’s not a comfortable easy snuff to take for this reason… but I might get used to it. Who knows. We’ll see.
Just opened a tin of 6 Photo Coffee Kick, I got it from the mailbox less than 30 minutes ago.
And now opened a new morning coffee snuff - Abraxas Cafe 11. Yay! Work of art. This one is fine, classy and amazing!
Babaton Green
COC and Extra COC- mmm spearminty
Bernard Prisenflaschchen. Heavenly with my coffee…
Abraxas Limited edition Fire cured Connoisseur Cerise- First impressions I am impressed , May have to order another to cellar
WoS Dr Rumney’s - Nothing like the SA version this I am getting strong anis with cooling menthol. I will tell you this is an excellent decongestant.
Both Toque and MrSnuff orders arrived today. Resisted the urge to open them all and went with Magic Moments Black. It’s brilliant and darkly fruity. I’m definitely digging this.
I just got WoS Crumbs of Comfort today! Woohoo! I find it absolutely brilliant and delightful. I think it’s mainly peppermint scented (though I’m not sure what spearmint tastes like in contrast). Great work-snuff for me. Great wake up snuff too. Absolutely delightful. I’m pleased.
NTSU Black
I did open a tin today. It is a snuff that I am quite familiar with. Another 25 gram tin of Toque Bourbon out of my Toque Stock pile.
15g Auld Alliance 25g Toque SP Extra 25g Viking Dark (which I have really missed)
A large (although tin size of a WoS medium) McC Clove from my cellar stash. This is the first tin I’ve opened in months. Usually I’m just refilling tins and bottles and boxes from my bulks, which I use the most of. Its a nice change of pace, plus I get to fall back in love with a once favorite snuff.
New to snuff so opening quite a few new tins wos high dry toast mc crystals hops wos jocky club dholakia white snuff q smokers blend gawith hoggarth western glory and whiskey to name just a few:-)
Glestscher Prise in a 10g Tap Box. My lock shop has been out of reach due to work and my schedule, and nearly forgot I stashed this one in my desk. Thank goodness I was looking for some candy this morning.
NB madras…holy crap this is strong.cheers @indiansnuff
@snuffykib hope you enjoy and always remember “use responsibly”
@indiansnuff yes i highly recommend this snuff,it reminds me of the time i use to smoke cigars.I prefer plainer flavour snuff with good nic.very nice thank you.

Just got round to opening the St Casura I got yesterday.
SG Gold Cob and Black Rappee, and McC SP. All new to me, all Awesome!
30 g of 6 photo Coffee Kick. One down, three Swishers to go.
10g tin of ToqueUSA’s Whisky & Honey. Only got it yesterday and I’m considering buying another few tins of it…
Gawith apricot
A glass container of Paul Gotard Pear. I forgot all about this and found it at the back of my snuff drawer. When I opened it I heard a little “whoosh” so it has been sealed well for the year plus it had been missing. Pretty nice snuff too. Very fresh and fruity type sweet with a bit of menthol or spice. Should let it air as it does still have an ammonia aroma still. Good snuff from an underrated maker.
Toque USA Kentucky Bourbon - definite bourbon ‘nose’… Fairly short lasting but quite pleasant all the same!!!
Yet another McChrystal’s Raspberry
Havana toast …
McChrystal’s Violet mini tin
McChrystal’s SP mini tin
30g tin of 6P No6 Medicated. This is my fave of the 3 6P medicated snuffs, this tin is way more moist than my last but still has the earthy, sharp barnyard smell that is behind the cool bite.
J&H Wilson SP no 1.
WoS Raspberry - Very artificial and heavy on the menthol -It’s nice
My wife’s favorite for the last twenty years.
Still waiting for an order sent on the 28th… East coast USA ordered from mr snuff. My package contains 1x Toque menthol 1x Wilsons natural 1x Titanium snuff spoon. Once my first order arrives I’ll gladly order my next much longer list
Hoping to get my order soon so I can open SWS SJP
Because a shipment just came in and it contained a few new snuffs I have opened several today: McChrystal’s English Menthol, McChrystal’s Hops, Fribourg & Treyer French Carotte, and Gawith Hoggarth S.P. I have only taken the English Menthol, Hops and French Carotte thus far.
Not a tin but a 50g jar of SWS Creme de Figue that I had stashed in the fridge. Happily no sign whatsoever of mould and several spoonfuls are now in one of my Snuffhouse snuff boxes warming up on top of my PC monitor.

How was the hops?
a jar of F&T Santo Domingo
@Cigshurtmylungs the Hops snuff is just AWESOME!!. having made my share of homebrewed beer I can say it is just like the name implies, heavy on the hops with just a bit of tobacco in the background. If that is an aroma that you like - by all means go for it, You will not regret it… I opened a 50g tin of SWS St. James Parrish… VERY nice
Snuffy wiess It’s horrible as expected
McChrystal’s SP
McChrystal’s Mild Lemon, SWS St-James Parish Blend, 6 Photo Cheeta, J&H Wilson Top Mill No. 1, Toque Almond Toast, and Dholakia Medicated. Very fun night with new snuffs.
Toque Berwick Brown. This is my first time trying it and my decision to order a 200g economy bag was based on commentary I saw here about this snuff. It is certainly as described by most- strongly scented with a leathery/somewhat soapy note; not bad mind you, just unique. Quite a departure from the menthols and SP’s I have been taking of late. I am glad I went for the large bag and intend to give it a serious go.
Old Mill Conundrum - Very unique, great flavor/aroma. Nice grind and made by a real Magician/Chef!!! GREAT STUFF…

Old Mill Pure Virginia Toast… VERY NICE!!!1
Toque Xmas Pudding
Old Mill Olde English Toast - Holy Moly this is wonderful… Like a grand, top shelf English pipe tobacco…
Checkerberry. Reminds me of old fashioned candy.
Old Mill Atchifalaya… Very flavorful, exotic with layers of aroma.
McChrystal’s Clove 21g tim
McChrystal’s Violet extra lg tin
Last night: F&T French Carotte
Tranter’s Hobsons (sic) Choice - a birthday present from the wife.
Toque Toffee
Ran out of McCrystals mild lemon which I love, just opened a tin of the McCrystals hops which I didnt think I cared for at first but it kind of grows on you, its pretty decent, also snuffin on some toque natural and cherry menthol which is really nice too.
I opened a pouch of Gawith Hoggarth Loose tobacco, grated pounded and ground it to nose-suitable powder. Also had some cliques and grit of the previous pouch so that also had to be converted to snuff. I now have two tins of snuff for at least I think 2,5 weeks supply!
I opened a new box of Poschl Alpina. I really like this one.
WOS Chili Chocolate; brings nose BURN to a whole other level. Would prefer more chocolate and less chili… Could still feel it 3 hours later… and I can handle hot peppers just not up my nose…
F.U.B.A.R. Doolali Tap. Very strong clove scent and a strong burn, both linger forever and keep you stunned for quite a while. With the pain fading slowly you get a more complex tobacco scent and its getting pleasant - slowly. No pain no gain with this one.
Just opened a tin of WoS Ice Liquorice. Too liquoricey for my taste, but I’ll revisit as it may grow on me.
Opened a jar of WoS Prices from storage. Still tastes great after 2 years in storage.
Opened a tin of SG Black Coffee.
A brand new 25 gram tin of Toque Natural Toast. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten together, so I am very happy we had this time to get reacquainted. What a great toast snuff.
Half pound drums of IHT 22 and best SP. My first try of the SP and I think it’s nice enough but not as much character or power as others. Toast 22 is still great.
Molens FCV 400.
Honest scotch
15 g box of NTSU black, oh yes
Large tin of Elmo’s Reserve from my smoking shop, a strange, sweet snuff that might take a while to appreciate.
50 gram tub of 5 Photo Himalaya
10g Toque Grapefruit. Very(!) enjoyable scent, which vanishes unfortunately too fast.
I opened WoS(5g): Camphor and Mild, Jasmine, SS and Thyme and Lemon + Himtaj Golden(10g) during the last three days. Camphor and Mild and SS are both excellent, Jasmine is a very decent sweet flowersnuff, yet very fresh at the same time, Thyme and Lemon is a well made snuff, but the Thyme just isn’t a scent i could have in my nose all the time/i do expect to get from a snuff, nevertheless im glad i bought it, since its great as aperitifsnuff (as Juxtaposer’s rerview recommends) before having a hefty meal and an exceptional occasional snuff. The Himtah Golden is somewhat nice, needs to grow on me i guess.
Small Tin OM Solstice
Old Mill Solstice 2014 - in a word AWESOME!!!
Old Mill Tempe’te - The tradition of GREATNESS continues…

Old Mill Pumpernickel Toast. A savory delight. Smooth, fragrant and that wonderful burn…
SG Firedance. Just beautiful, great, awesome, no superlative too over the top, tarry, fruity, sweet, fragrant- get some, if you haven’t tried it, it goes well with all Xmas drinks and foods. You deserve it. LOL
Old Mill Ecrous Brulee… Yet another fragrant, fine, tasty and downright good creation from the master wizard himself - @chefdaniel
OM Solstice 2014 Wow, this is really good. Rich and tasty, kind of a complex flavor but not overwhelming. Good stuff.
Old Mill Conundrum Clove… this is a very solid and exceptional addition to the Old Mill line up. even more, it is an exceptional, optimal, clove snuff. Well worth your time to seek out…
Viking Spear. I’m using a lot of this, it’s quickly becoming my go-to.
Taxi red and a Havana toast
Hedges 260L and 6 Photo Anarkali. A pleasant combo.
Opened a Toque whiskey and honey and also I opened another Taxi red
OM Premiere, nice and dark! almost want to eat it
If you saw my positing in Whats in your mailbox you will see that I got several new snuffs today- appropriately I opened a Tap Box of Poschil’s Gletscher Prise and a tin of WoS Dynamite, the latter is absolutely fantastic.
Today having received my 10 toque 10g tins, I’ve opened them all! Then obviously decanted and enjoyed… Quit Natural Toast Toast and Marmalade Almond Toast Peanut Butter Chocolate Toffee Spanish Gem USA Whiskey and Honey Blueberry Menthol - @basement_shaman Fantastic snuff as I’ve come to learn all Toques are! Initial scents on opening the tin were the normal base tobacco Toque obviously use, however I found this to smell less mentholated than say WoS Aniseed Extra or McC Original. Definitely the more moist of the selection of Toques I have, but still drier than say the above 2. Dream to pinch, the menthol hits straight away. The blueberry is almost a subtle undertone, sweet but not too sweet, which is extremely desirable. All in all it’s a wonderful mentholated snuff, and definitely knocks my current favourite , WoS Aniseed Extra, out of top place! I would definitely recommend it!
@vitellius - Aniseed Extra is my favorite as well, so I am curious about your opinion. What do you think of the Almond Toast? I’ve been considering giving it a go to try my first toast. Can you smell the almond scent?
@Shavasana I wanted to try a few toasts, didn’t quite fancy the lime toast so chose to go with the almond toast. The almond scent from the tim is very noticeable. And in the nose it’s wonderful, quite subtle but really pleasant. I imagine you would really enjoy it!
T.P.S. Madras
Opened the Dholakia Sparrow today. In terms of scent all the Indian white snuffs I own run together for my unsophisticated palate (or whatever) except for the very distinctive Cheeta.
OM Puro Dominicana and Spotted Dick
10g Toque Whisky & Honey
Wilson of Sarrows Crumbs of Comfort
A homemade snuff in tin with mashed Bolivar tobacco and myhrre essence
25g tin of SG Blue Crest. When fresh there’s a certain nutty background scent. When it starts to dry out the black tea scent comes through. Nice “plain” snuff.
SG’s Fire Dance.
@lunecat for 50g of HDT do they still do a screw top?
McChrystal’s S.P. 7gm
Homemade snuff created from an unopened tin of General Loose snus, liberally infused with pure essence of lavender. I don’t do snus, but had a couple of “on sale” tins in the freezer from a few years ago. Surprisingly, it make a nice coarse snuff, sort of similar to Black Rappee, but without the briney, leathery scent. It was too plain by itself, hence the lavender oil.
@Salmiak: How does the myrrh taste? The reason I ask is that I have a very old bottle of myrrh essence, its mostly crystallized, but I had wondered if it would make a nice scent for snuff. I have a bunch of unscented homemade snuffs, mostly from old cigars, that I rarely use. I’d be interested in your impressions of myrrh scenting…
Silver Dollar Scotch
@mrmanos the myrrh scent is much on the background. Close the tin you keep it in very tight or the scent will fade away. The taste it has, not overwhelming as I say, is a lil bitter and sweet. It’s myrrh can’t actually compare it. Oriental and earthy. I really like the specific smell it has since I smelled a real myrrh sample in the Biblical Museum. Don’t moisten the tobacco to much, it works best on dry tobacco. I Also have some myrrh scented cigar snuff with a bit Perique added: it competes the myrrh with it’s purguent smell! Good luck!
Wilsons Medicated No. 99
25 gram envelope of Gawith Apricot
Dholakia White 10g
Toque Berwick Brown
Found an old tin of Tom Buck I’d sealed and tucked away in a bag for God knows what. Opened it up and it’s as fresh as could be! enjoyed my first pinch very much. Wonderful floral/citrus notes.
Toque Raspberry

Not a tin but a jar of C&D Night Train has moved from the cellar today.
F&T Old Paris.
It seems today is a go to my cellar day. I already grabbed a new jar for my evening smoke. But decided I wanted to change up a little this afternoon so I grabbed a pouch of 5 Brothers and just had a bowl.
Just refilled my shaman hand [heart] snuff box with 6 Photo Special . I like this little boxes: when waxed inside and under the lid they keep my snuff fresh for months. They are not flashy but they are still inexpensive.
Fribourg & Treyer High Dry Toast
@basement_shaman, I have some F&T HDT coming in a few days—I love HeartWood boxes and this smaller type looks great to use in this manner…BTW, I tried the wax trick and no more wooden scent and is air-tight…Gonna put some F&T in once I receive it!
@jmahes This is why I stick around, To share my experience & knowledge. Thanks for the feedback. I don’t claim to know everything but I know plenty, and I share it for free.
Skoal Citrus - fresh & fruity
Does a fresh mason jar of Gekachelter Virginie count?
Dholakia African
WOS Queens Extra Strong
6 Photo Super Chetak
I opened Tom Buck, Best Dark and Kendal Brown from WoS during the last few days. Nice snuffs, Best Dark is totally outstanding! Only thing i don’t like about it, is the consistency of the tobacco, since the already moist crumbs don’t want to stick to the moisture inside my nostrils and then “melt” in my throat (same problem with Santo Domingo obviously).
Opened my first 4oz jar of thor’s hammer from the cellar. Makes me want to order another 500g. Don’t know what I’d do without VD or thor’s, though I guess I’m just feeling like a hoarder because I’ve got 1kg of each, heh.
Copenhagen Black, my last tin till the holidays
Thai Herbal Purple the MFD say 100954 EXP 100956. Is this 61 years old?
Sternecker echt fresco and straubinger
Poschl sudfrucht, A, D, perlesreuter. All wonderfull. Poschl knows how to make schmalzler.

10g tin of Toque Berwick Brown.
McChrystal’s S.P. mini tin
45g 6 Photo Motia. Oddly, the contents of the entire container fit into a 4oz mason jar. I had anticipated it being about 1/2 again that amount, but what do I know.
Same as @J_S , opened some Motia. Weird stuff. Weirdly good.
Opened a couple first time orders for me. Opened kailash, ganga, WoS Jockey Club and WoS Grand Cairo. Love all but the Cairo, but it’s growing on me. The spiciness surprised me at first
J&H top mill #1
Dunhill Royal Yacht
Copenhagen Natural & Copenhagen Snuff
Rosinski Goldapper, Sans Souci, and Kathnertabak. Wonderful how the emergence of artisan snuffmakers in the last few years has elevated the art.
Toque Original- Good stuff. Similar to WoS Best SP, with a better bergamont, a better base tobacco, a better grind, and a better nic hit. Toque Lime Toast- gonna let this one air out a bit before rendering a verdict. GH Lakeland- tastes like cat litter. I can say this confidently, as I work at a cat litter manufacturing plant. This stuff is Eau De Double Duty.
@Hitsuzen Cool. You have pictures of the cat-litter-making machinery? I love looking at industrial machinery. Alas, I don’t support your industry–my cat likes the wood pellets used in wood stoves, $7-worth lasts 3 months and is biodegradable
@Mouse we make sodium bentonite (clay) litter, pine clumping litter, pine cobble, pine pellet, oil dry, heat pellet, and some newer compound polymer absorbants as well. Inbox me your email, I’ll send you some pictures
I use wood pellet as popery in water on top of my wood stove but cedar smells the best.

Because I just got a few new snuffs in I did my usual- dug into the first one that touched my hand: Poschl ALPINA which is quite nice and just after lunch I opened (albeit with some difficulty) Viking Thor’s Hammer- which packs it in there in terms of hit and scent.
Gawith apricot again.
Rosinski KathnerTabak Nice, very nice !
Toque lime toast. Good burn, really nice. And Paul Gotard juniper bottle. Reminds me of Vicks rub, but with juniper in the background.
WoS French Carotte 25g. The only thing better than French Carotte is freshly opened French Carotte.
Rosinski Uckermarker. Just enough smokiness lurking in the background, med burn. A keeper for me.
Gawith Apricot
Rosinski’s Berliner Luft
Fresh Toque Chocolate original.
Found a large tin each of Old Paris and Santa Domingo I forgot I had at the back of a drawer. Of course I had to take a pinch to make sure they’d stored OK <:-P Very happy to have found them, as my last two user tins spoiled. I’ll be sure not to let these two last long enough to spoil

Just in… Toque Pumpkin Pie… Overall review… Well it is very fresh and ammonia smell is still potent… Have been snuffing it all morning and must admit it is a little toned down… I am really seeking the best fall/winter snuff… I think my #1 is still McChrystals X-Mas Cinnamon blend… I sure hope they release it again this year…

Tin of Old Mill Sarsaparilla… Wow. The scent lasts literally hours. Not sure how @chefdaniel pulled this one off… But wow.
Just received my Toque Rustica. My head is swimming! I’m in love!!!

Ok there we go hahaha Paul Gothard vanilla S.G. firedance Bernard Magic moment black and white W of S cola Poschl Doppelaroma schmalzler
WoS Kendal Brown, but the tin was heavilly corroded, so I threw it out. That’s the fourth WoS tin I’ve thrown out for rust this week. From now on, no long term storage of WoS tins. They either go straight into little glass jars, recycled Toque Tins, or recycled GH tubs. I also opened a small McC Mild Lemon. I’d forgotten how fine the grinds are on theirs
Pulled the tape off a 5g Royal George
S.G. Elmo’s Reserve
How do you like Elmo’s Reserve @Marielle32. It is one of my favorites.
@RS422 to be honest I thought it would be more plane than it is. But if you forget that, it’s a typical pipe tabacco sent with vanilla witch stay’s long and will and up in a nice tabacco sent eventually. So I really like it ! But maybe a lite to sweet for a all day everyday but time will tell.
Poschl Alpina
WoS Irish Coffee M&W Citrus Delight M&W Rumba WoS Raspberry
I just openend my tin of F&T old Paris. It’s perfect ! This is definitely an all day everyday snuff for me !
RR Mills Sweet. I don’t care for the sweets I’ve had, so I traded for this somewhat reluctantly, having read that it is not particularly sweet. I definitely find it less so than Garrett Sweet and Red Seal. It is rather pleasant, actually. I wouldn’t use it as more than an infrequent change-of-pace snuff, though.
I have reopen old and forgotten tin of WoS Strasbourg. Conclusion one of best SP style tobaccos which I ever have (so far). Rich fruity, flovery very close to (in)famous F&T style snuffs. Jack
I did the same with Strasbourg last week too. My love for it didn’t last long though, and I threw it in the blend pot. No loss though, as I have a longer lasting affection for Morlaix, Grand Cairo, Best Dark, Brunswick and Burgundy.
thanks @chefdaniel !!

I opened another Stok Banana tapbox. Still struggling to pick a favorite between this and Samuel Gawith Banana, but glad to have both.
Ozona raspberry very nice !
Right on! I opened my Starr up last night. It’s darn good. And one hell of a nic-hit to boot.
Picked up another plastic tube of WE Sweet. I guess i really like this stuff more than i thought. Few weeks back i was avoiding it. But for me, its best mixed with the garrett regular. Takes the bite out of the nasty throat drip of garrett reg.
Gotard Irish Cream. How dreadful! I’ll stick to their Grape going forward, as it appears that the rest of the line is very hit-or-miss.
@Chicago_CA Same experience for me! When I first opened my WE Sweet I thought I’d never finish it… but I find myself drawn to it everyday despite the cache of yet-to-try tins in my fridge.

SG 2013 Christmas Special
Kralinger molens: - Latakia AO 1860 - potpourri nr 1 - gingerbread - Paris a la Robillard - chococremesnuif
Forgot to mention that I finally opened a 10g tin of WoS Wallflower today. Not sure I’m a florals guy, but this stuff is undeniably good.
Today a delivery of the Kralinger Molen arrived. The FCV (plain Virginia) is very nice and I also ordered Hollandse snuif and Mattijaer. Lightly sented witch is nice, but a little bit to course for my liking.
Toque Coke. I tried it before and gave the rest away, and I still don’t care for it. Brief scent in the nose, and it’s weak and off target to boot.
Toque spanish gem Toque SP Extra WoS Best SP WoS Tom Buck F&T Princes Special I officially love SP’S !

It’s gonna be a great day!
Just cracked into a 200g bag of USA Whiskey & Honey. So good.
Just opened a “jar” of Abraxas Premium Coarse. Really enjoy this, prefer this over the Premium Fin.
Toque Raspberry, Pomegranate, and Strawberry. I like these fruits and I love Toque, but if these are the best fruit snuffs, I don’t like fruit snuffs. I have Toque Absinthe and C&B unopened, too. I’ll have to clear my nose first.
Earlier I opened Old Mill Equinox 2016.
I opened a small container of Abraxas Dragun last night.
Court is still out on this one. I love a good chili suffer and sweat, but this borders on masochism.
@moemojo: If you find the Dragun a bit hot you should try Dragun Menthol. The minuscule amount of menthol just takes the edge off of the spiciness and is a masterpiece IMO.
Toque Ginger & Toque SP Extra.
Small McChrystal’s O&G. Trying to wrap my nostrils around this one. Not a fan of medicated stuff, so a work in progress.
McChrystal’s SP. Had this one onhand for months and finally opened it. I might be a little plugged up, but this is a nice plain SP with a good tobacco flavour. it reminds me a lot of JHW SP1 or Top Mill.
@TerrapinFlyer when you get around to opening the Absinthe and if you have a menthol on hand, the two go together very well. Im not a big menthol fan either by itself, but those two together are very nice.
@lunecat I will be stocking up on bulk HDT soon and wondering if the batch is still on the buttery nutty end of the spectrum.,if the tin you opened was from a recent order of course. It seems that it slid over to almost a IHT22 smokey meat scent for me for almost a year and finally returned to what ive come to expect of it.
Thanks, @Chicago_CA. I was not a fan of beverage absinthe (though the ritual and buzz was fun), so I did not have high hopes for the snuff. I think the flavor is spot-on, but not for me. I have McC OandG–I’ll experiment one of these days. I am maybe the only person ambivalent about Cheese and Bacon. It’s okay, probably not a reorder…
I just bought some Silver dollar medicated. Ive been congested the last week or two. A bit of the medicated straightened me out.
McC S’nuff and Jip!
A new jar of Abraxas Connoisseur Cerise. An absolute dark delight! So nice to have it totally fresh (from the freezer)!
McC Supermint. First tin of this Ive had. Not sure what to make of it yet but my first impression is that its a lot like putting a candy cane up your nose, and then it mellows out to be something that reminds me of Elmers Glue. The white paste, but minty. Its really weird. I wonder what the glue-like sensation is.the date on the bottom is January, so idk. Its really moist too. Maybe its got to grow on me.
I recently opened OM javelin and OM greyhound
Mr Snuff order arrived this morning.
Opened my first tin of SG Black Rappee. Lovely lovely snuff. So coarse and dark, but not so far cloying or rough on the nose. And that Kendal base tobacco. I’m so in love with Kendal snuffs i don’t know what i’d do without them. Going to spend some time with this one today.
Large tin of OM Perfecto
Starr scotch. Wow, I’m impressed with this one. It is so similar to IHT#22. Its really changed how I feel about plain scotch. I thought they were all more or less identical and one dimensional, but they are not (well maybe a few are very very similar) but You just have to find the gems. And this one, is really a gem. Not in your face campfire smokey like Garrett or Bruton, but complex iht22 smokey and a touch of nutty in the background. like if u mix iht22 and hdt.
25gr GH Kendal Brown in the “new” SG tins. Snuff is still good!
Honestly, the little GH screw on lidded, plastic tubs were cute but came open too easily.
150gr White Elephant
@jmahes I never had any fresh GH. every time I would order some the lid would had popped off and covered everything in my order. I had order a few time and just abandon the entire range. I am sure I had missed out on some good snuff.
@basement_shaman, the GH KB had a lot more ammonia than I was used to smelling from the little screw jars and was wicked moist.
Maybe the switch to the SG tins is a very good idea
I opened the toque Spanish Gem. Wow, that is a powerhouse. The description on Mr. Snuff page is right on the money, except that it doesn’t mention how much burn comes with it. It’s not enough to overpower the great quality of the snuff, but it is significant.
The tin was absolutely the worst quality tin I have yet to see. Just a gentle twist ruined the tin.
Taxi red
Fubar Fido Spicy treat. Menthol .I like the snuff I hate the tin!
@jmahes Yea I had mentioned that I hoped they would change packaging when I first heard of the SG GH merger into the same building awhile back. http://snuffhouse.com/discussion/9996/samuel-gawith-gawith-hoggarth-merger-rumour
I opened a large tin of White Elephant this morning.
WoS Thyme & Lemon. It’s light, but very herbal and satisfying.
Just opened a 5g tin of WoS Gold Label. Love at first snuff? I think so. A tub of this wonderful stuff will most certainly be included in my next order.
Opened a 30g tin of FUBAR snafu and spilled ~75% of it
Taxi Red. It definitely needs some air time, it smells like pee!
@Ubiquitous The ammonia is the biggest selling point of SA snuffs imho. Once you learn to like it, you crave it.
@Zanaspus The only other SA I’ve had was the Babaton Blue, and the aroma wasn’t nearly as… Pungent… I suppose that I’ll learn to love it. I’ve been pinching at it for the last few hours.
WoS Royal George, Bernard Magic Moments, Klostermisching and Winter Pris.
WOS Strasbourg, G’Day
Just Opened 5g Silver Dollar Raspberry. I had tried a friend one about a month ago and wasn’t a huge fan although I’m glad I decided to buy some more. It has defiantly grown on me. When I first tried it, I found it too sweet for my nose although I liked the tobacco notes underneath. Now I find the Raspberry a very pleasant note and now very much enjoying this snuff. Easy 8/10
WoS Grand Cairo
Today was Toque Spanish Gem. This snuff is great!
WoS Vanilla Ice, Fribourg & Treyer Patchouli and Dholakia Swiss Chocolate. I ordered these for my wife, she is only intrested in the Patchouli right now, so I am helping myself to the Dholakia.
SWS "The Pipe Shop’s Festival 2016 snuff. Thanks @lunecat
White Elephant 150 gr
Just cracked into a 400g bag of USA W&H. My personal favorite, forever and always.
Just opened a small NTSU - Black tin, today gonna be a full barnyard day!
WoS Rum and Raisin.
Wilson Apple
10g Royal George
GH Spartan…really interesting medicated snuff. Strange…but really good.
White Elephant, 150 Grams. Will probably last me a decade to be honest.
@Grunt, used to take me over 3 months to kill a can like that but now it’s a bit over 3 weeks. It’s a bit addictive
25g of taxi red i go through this snuff like crazy.
SG Kendal Brown. its very good but the flavor is somewhat muted. hopefully ill get more of the flavor after more use
WoS Lemon Grove and Irish High Toast No 22
SG- K Zip 25g., WoS chocolate orange 25g.
I opened up a bunch in the last 2 days I opened my toque ambrosia sampler, whiskey and honey, and almond toast. I also opened up Dholokia white, 41 photo yellow lily, and 6 photo kalish.
Toque Rose. Man, this stuff is just like smelling a real rose, stems and all.
Newly arrived today, first time WoS Rum and Blackberry, Jaxon’s Queens Special(?), and Jaxon’s High Drive, all excellent!
41P Yellow Lily Mint, Motia, and a few Bernards. The Yellow Lily was underwhelming, the Motia was largely identical to Anarkali, and the Bernards were all fantastic.
WoS Aniseed and Eucalyptus. Had this small tin for a while, left over from an assortment pack from when I first started snuffing actually, and avoided opening it because I assumed it would be mentholated. As Wilson’s new web site now grades the menthol content of their snuffs, and this was showing no menthol, I decided to crack it open. It is a rather unusual aroma, and not what my nose was expecting. I think I’ll need to spend more time with it to understand it better
WoS Morlaix
FUBAR Jungle Fever… and I have to admit it scares me. Whatever they put in it has etched the inside of an acrylic bullet after roughly 4 hours. Not sure what chemical(s) it’s laced with, but I’m fairly certain they shouldn’t be ingested.
Samuel Gawith’s Gin & Tonic
Opened a brand new vacuum tin of GH sandalwood. It’s good, but more perfumey than when I got it in the little plastic tub. It smells more like the tap box sandalwood I bought back in 2009 when I first started buying mail order snuff. Still love it, though. I love taking a pinch on a winter morning and going outside to a world that smells like sandalwood.
Also opened a tin of that rare artisanal snuff called McChrystal’s O&G. If you can ever find this snuff, my goodness do yourself a favour and stock up on it! Ok maybe I’m overstating its rarity but man that snuff is divine. I could never use it much because I get rebound from it, but when I have some it’s wonderful. It’s a classic for a reason.
I opened some WoS Royal George today. It has a to be the most mysterious scent I smell vanilla, some fruit like a berry and very very light rose.
And I opened some SG Gin & Tonic. A nice light lime and quinine. I don’t get the pine scent of the juniper berries or perhaps I that is what I sense as the lime scent. It’s good anyway.
@mike_B Wow never new McCrystal’s OG to be considered an artisan or for that matter rare by any means. But you are correct, it’s a fine English snuff that is available all over the planet. Nothing wrong with bragging it up as it may the most popular snuff available. I’m not a big menthol fan but admit I probably have 1/2 kilo of it!
@nicmizer yeah that was an attempt at dry wit. I will say, though, that just because a snuff isn’t “small batch” doesn’t mean that a lot of craft and artisanry didn’t go into making it. Whoever came up with the recipe for O&G knew their craft, that’s for sure.
After spending too much time reading reviews for the last few days, I thought Friday night would be a good moment to try something completely new for me so I just opened and decanted 2 medium F&T tubes : Princes and Santo Domingo. I need another day or two with them to have a clearer impression, for the moment I will just say that I like them both, they are exquisite snuffs that need a longer time spent with, like any work of art, for a deeper appreciation. Wish you all a wonderful weekend and happy sniffing!
opened a new tin of Tom Buck finished another tin of SG Menthol.
Tin of sardines in hot sauce. Could certainly detect fish smell in this batch.
SG KB Special. I love that hissing sound of the fresh tin!
Six (6) Photo Super Kailash - I finished a 7 gram, and opened the 30 g tin. This is my favorite among the range. Super good for beginner level. These days, this is a go-to for my migraine issues. I got 2 non-smoking people try it and they have asked me for more because it has proven to provide them relief from a heavy head / headache.
Small tin of WoS Apricot, and Cola. Not much excitement…
Square
OSP#2
SG Black Coffee
Six Photo Super Chetak
This stuff is awesome! I get a light about of menthol & perfume/incense. Very nice.
6 photo chocolicious, and it was a struggle, took me an hour to get the bloody thing opened…a hammer and a screwdriver was involved in the process… XD. But it was worth it! the snuff was super fresh and oh my! they are not joking when they say " a British style snuff" great taste! definitely can get the cocoa scent, good nicotine kick and the slight touch of menthol is enough to open you up but without letting the mint scent involved in the taste. Impressed!
Six photo special - my night cap snuff, and can have at least 10 pinches through the day
OSP Batch # for waking up Then OSP #3 while outside this morning. The outdoors bring out the soft citrus and gin/juniper berry scent so nicely
Lol @Liam . I had no end of trouble with those tins . I turn them over now and pop the lid out with a sheath knife …simple , safe and quick …decant straightaway . I enjoy the Choco as well , have a tapbox full beside me as I type this .
Sixphoto has a video on his website of the tin opening process . Vikas must have fingers of steel to get those open by hand .
@Pikey - Well, I am able to open those tins just as easily I wonder why everyone struggles with them. I open, close tight, open, close tight, almost everyday
@newbiesnuffer Fingers of steel ! :D
I aint complaining about the tins mind . The snuff is very fresh and that is all I really need from a container . :)
Fresh 25g tin of Toast and Marmalade. MMM…
I guess it’s about the technique alone with the tins. You need to try and open it bit by bit constantly rotating the tin - no matter how many times you have to do it until it’s really loose to open. That’s key. And gently, or you’ll get snuff all over you
Or use a coin method… I saw it in one of you YouTube videos by snuffbegins
@Pikey XD I actually closed the lid back up after the snuffing session, I was sure that the amount of damage sustained by the tin would of made opening it the second time easy…I was wrong…badly wrong. It is now safely decanted into a snuff jar lol. Chapeau for all those who open them bear handed!
F&T Morocco
Liam it is, as I said, just technique and patience - requires zero strength. It is demonstrated well in the video mentioned above.
OSP 1, 2, 3 Good stuff!
Just opened 2 new 25g tins from SG: London Brown - wow, love is a harsh mistress, this one is a serious competitor for my alltime fav, KB Plum - nice, nicer than I expected, (will probably grow on me, as it hapened with Hazelnut)
Opened a fresh SWS~Golden Horn :-bd
Cracked open a Sir Walter Scott’s Anson’s Imperial today
A day late, but WoS SP No1 Bottom Mill
Six photo Super Kailash - my everyday snuff
WoS Crumbs of Comfort - what a cracker! That peppermint is just sensational. I could really get used to that, not too strong and lingers for ages.
Viking Brown, Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Original, Kendal Brown Special and Kendal Brown Plain.
Dont Judge me
8-}
I opened some RR Mills Maccaboy.
As I am currently elbowing my way into the world of fine grinds and preparing for the typical weekend overdosing sessions, I just opened 3 new tins : F&T Bordeaux, JH Wilsons S.P. No.1 and WoS Chocolate.
the postman never rings , (because I usually spot him one mile up the road, hahaha) so I just received a new order and digged my nose into some nevertriedbefore varieties: GH Tia Maria - not as bad as I expected ( I bought this one because I saw it mentioned by somebody around here as being the worst snuff he ever tried and I have a dark side and a quest for the worst possible snuff ever) to me it smells like a cheap perfume that a country girl would wear on Sundays when going to town. I am only disappointed because it wasnt horrible enough. 6photo Kailash - my first indian snuff ever ( I confess I had a long lasting prejudice against indian snuffs and I am glad I overcame it) - Well, maybe its too early to say this, but I believe I was immediately seduced The famous or infamous 41Photo White Elephant - I should have sat down when doing it. It felt strong, gave me a serious dizziness (I took a generous pinch up each nostril ) but I didn’t fall down. Maybe Fubar Grunt or Willie Pete will be more like the headshot I was expecting from this one. All in all it was a good day. Spring is here.
Perfecting the toast technique with SWS Lundy Foot.
Irish High Toast # 22
In the tin smells like a cross between a kind of oaty biscuit and a barn
Up my nose smells like burning plastic and dusty house!
I like it.
Opened a fresh can of Toque Limited edition~Black Truffle.I forgot I had this.
Toque USA Wild Berry - Berry nice
F&T French Carrotte. Not sure about this one yet - was expecting more of a natural sandalwood flavour, but it’s… odd.
Toque USA Kentucky Bourbon : Liking the USA toques more and more as the spring days arrive.
6 photo super kailash and coffee kick
a tin of Viking Dark i received just today among others.
The first natural snuff i’m trying and i think it smells amazing. Brings back some memories of opening a fresh bag of Tobacco. I’m still glad i don’t smoke anymore though. heheh
@basement_shaman Why do you think “spring days” make a difference ?
@yisraeldov Because of the cool moist air with the trees in bloom spreading pollen . With my nose filled with a nice scented snuff it make the world that much easier to tolerate. I guess it may make a difference on the location your at on this marble . Might not make a difference if your in the Arizonian dessert or the frozen tundra . But here in PA, I get all 4 seasons. The weather been weird the last few yrs. The spring got passed by and stayed cold then the summer was too hot with little rainfall very bad for gardening. The fall was wet and the gloomy weather just hovered and the winter set in and it was mild ,never got a chance to go Ice fishing. But normally Yes the changes of the season does make a difference. Menthol snuff outside in the winter is not a good idea 1 the menthol gets so ice cold 2 your mucus start to flow and doesn’t stop with just a single blow.
@basement_shaman Here, a coastal city in Israel, it is just to opposite. “Winter” is super dry except the rare chance that we get some rain. Snuff taking is really hard, I need the menthol to get some moisture in my nose or it just clogs me up. Using lots of OSP #1 lately.
Summer is really humid, so I always get a runny nose and snuff like WoS Lemon Grove, helps to dry me out.
I get allergies in the “Fall”, never thought of using snuff to combat them.
I miss US winters. (DC Baltimore area )
Well my order just arrived today, soooo stoked got through tax free (an extra $120 in my pocket for another order). Tins opened today (within the last 30 minutes) SG Elmos Reserve, Black Rappee, Kendal Brown Plain, Scotch Black and Viking Brown. So bloody happy to have restocked I was down to crumbs and heavy Menthols. I am yet to try the SWS Roslein, actually im gonna open that now. Have a good evening all!
@yisraeldov - I live in the coastal city of Mumbai, so I guess we have similar climates (humid in summer and rains). How do you store your snuffs? I have huge tins and small tins made of metal. I’ve currently kept the tins in semi air-tight (I’ve taped the tight lid to make sure its airtight) plastic boxes and dropped in a silicone desiccant to make sure the tins dont rust from outside. I’ve taped the individual tins near the lids too with electric tape. Would the tins rust from within for medium moist snuffs? Will it render the snuffs bad in years? I’ve asked @basement_shaman this same question privately, but any advice you can give from your experience would be appreciated.
