Since some of us have massive collections of snuff, it can take awhile to reach the bottom of any particular tin. I find that if I focus on a few, I can actually empty them! So today, for me I finished a 10g tin of Wilsons of Sharrow Tangerine. Good, but maybe not one to get again for some time.

I am a couple pinches away from killing my tin of Wilson’s Toast #20, but I decided not to empty it completely until I get some more. I don’t like being without any of my favorite snuffs.

@Miami: I was talking about that one day out of the year where it dips below 70! Atleast 80’s are back on the horizon with September coming up, only 3 more months of 90’s!

I walk dogs all day so I’m also looking forward to “cooler” weather. I got soaked this morning by a sudden shower and I didn’t even mind. When it (rarely) gets below 60, I turn the heat on in my car and house and wear a coat!

Ahhh! You are a Floridian! When it hits in the 60’s I still wear shorts. A few years back I was in Ohio for vacation. One July morning I got up and went out side for a cigarette. It was 48 out, in July! People down here would lose their damn minds if that happened.

The sad thing is, I’m from Maryland originally. Between working on cruise ships, living in St. Thomas and Miami, it’s been about 20 years since I’ve been anywhere cold. I know some people miss the cold and change of seasons, etc, BUT NOT ME!!!

I’ve just empted one of my red boxes of Mac’s Mild Lemon,while sat out in the garden sunning myself.

I’ve never emptied a tin. I always switched off with different cans, and then I can’t take but maybe an apple seed’s amount.

I’ve never emptied one either, but I have dumped the remains of a couple smash-boxes so as to refill them with other, more preferred snuffs. I now have about 25 on hand, and I’ve made a resolution not to order ANY more snuff until I finish a few… or until November, whichever comes first.

Judging by the biscuit tin full of empty snuff boxes, tubes, cans and dispensers in the kitchen cupboard, I’ve emptied quite a few in recent years. The latest was a dispenser of SG Zip a couple of days ago.

Somehow, I’ve emptied my 25g tin of Taxi Red. This is one I did not want to be without. When I first got this, I was so intimidated and thought I’d never be able to finish all 25g of it. Then I came to love it. The secret is shoving huge pinches in and not actually snuffing it. I still have a bit of Blue and Rock and of course Ntsu, but they are going the same way now.

Just finished a 7g tin of Ozona President that I got in January. I still have another one in reserve.

I like that one! I think it’s pretty good. I am yet to be disappointed by Gawith & Hoggarth. They have worked their way into my daily rotation.

Just finished another 10 gram tin of Toque Natural, the only snuff I’ve finished two tins of. Natural, or maybe Quit, are definitely on my re-order list, but I know better than to order 10 gram tins with these now!

cstoke> yes - about one third was still in the container, and seems to be fine. What spilled out in the envelope, I will not put into my nose I think.

25 gram Toque Chocolate. There is a bit of it here and there in some mixes I have but the tin is empty and another one is already open and pinched from.

Just emptied the last of a tin of WoS Grand Cairo into my daily box, so it will be all gone by the end of the day. At least I have a nearly full large tin of Tranter’s Grand Cairo on hand, and it’s pretty much identical.

Well today I emptied my first tin! Right into the pocket of my river shorts that have a mesh bottom, by the time I noticed the tin and pocket were empty! Whoa! I had stuffed about 8 empty sample containers in there to take upstairs, and they allowed too much room in the pocket, I rarely carry a tin, but my wooden pocket snuff container was full of Rooster. It was my 10g tin of FUBAR Grunt, a favorite strong snuff. But in the mail today came two 50g tubs of Fubar from Mr. Snuff. So the crying was short and sweet!!! Still sad-

20g of Ntsu Menthol. Not bad at all for a menthol, and since I’ve become a Ntsu junkie I was using it in pretty large doses. After finishing the tin, I’m sticking to the opinion that its really more mint-like than menthol-like. I’ll not replace this one though, but I do want to keep well stocked on the plain. Also I am currently focusing on snuffs I do not want to replace so that I can free some space.

Yesterday I finished a 10g tin of Toque Pomegranate. (Note to self: order a 25g tin NOW). I decided that i will no longer bother with the 10g Toque tins. I’ve yet to find a Toque that I don’t like, so each and every one is worth having in the larger tin size. Today I emptied the tin of W.E. Garrett Sweet and Mild that I’ve had for well over 18 months. I never thought I’d ever see the bottom of that tin. I’m debating in my mind whether or not I should buy another one to last me for the next couple of years.

10g Toque SP Extra - gone… good thing I have another!

DAMN!!! I just opened a brand new 25g tin of Toque Espresso – and it just slipped out of my hand… An entire 25g tin spilled into the carpet. I didn’t even get a single pinch. No way am I sniffing spilled snuff that is now commingling with dog hair and who knows what else. This sucks.

@ kjoerup: You have my deepest sympathies for your lost loved one. Many of us, myself included, have been where you are now. In time, you will learn to deal with your loss. You will always miss them, but it will get easier in time. Trust me. (Holding back a tear for my beloved Queen’s Extra Strong who drowned herself in the toilet bowl last spring)

Thank you all for your condolences. I take solace in the fact that the Espresso is now in a better place, living it up with Xander’s dear departed Queen’s Extra Strong. Who knows? Maybe in the afterlife Queen’s Extra Strong and Tom Buck really do become two separate entities. But then I’m no theologian… I’m still in mourning for the Toque Espresso, but life will somehow have to go on. I’ve been inexplicably drowning my sorrow today in a tin of Garrett Sweet and Mild I bought this afternoon. It’s a weird act of denial, I know – like rashly replacing your dead pedigreed puppy with a mean, mangy mutt off the street. It’s also the nicotine equivalent of 600 grams of Toque and my nose feels as if I’ve been submerged in a vat of sweet sorghum, but, um, mourning makes you do irrational things, I suppose. The sad thing is not that I refused to snuff the spilled Toque off the carpet. No, the really sad thing is that my very first thought after the unfortunate mishap was that I considered doing so. LOL. It’s funny 'cause it’s true.

This is a proud moment for me, as of today I have finished my first ever tin of snuff. Was a long time coming as due to being a menthol it clogged me up however being a glutten for punishment and loving the stuff, I cracked on anyway. The tin in question is, Poschl - Lowen Prise. I hope there are many more tins ahead of me to snuff through… Feels good!

Finished off a 3g mini bullet from Toque of Raspberry in the oner. Did block me up, think it’s my technique by taking it too far back, or maybe to much… Must work on it.

Im using a a jar of snuff that is made up of all the samples, leftovers and whatnot of dozens of tins. Its in a peanut butter jar and completely delicious. The thing is I haven’t got any recollection whats in there - so the snuff blend is unrepeatable.

Finished a 10g tin of SG Dr Vereys Plus and a big tin of Wilson’s Menthol SA yesterday. A couple months ago my wife told me I needed to finish 50 tins before I could get any more. I don’t think I’ll be getting any more snuff anytime soon.

Or…Dump them all in a peanut butter jar!

Thats a piece of luck, living near a paper shop where you can get CM, mine only does WH SP. I bet yours also sells top mill?

No Top Mill, not yet anyway, though he does have quite a good selection of Wilson’s (Sharrow) in 10g tins, Gawith Hoggarth in 10g dispensers and the more popular Pöschl snuffs. His stock is always fresh too. It’s the only place left in Hull with any sort of choice of snuffs and he’s actually increasing the range he carries as he says it’s selling so well. There are a couple of other places which only sell J&H Wilson’s snuffs in the small blue tins though they always seem to be too dry and less than fresh.

Yes It’s Clement News, I visited ermtony while he was in hospital and I left him my only tin of snuff I had with me. On walking beck home I just needed a pinch so I poped into this newsagent thinking that they may have a small tin of J&H Wilsons, they hadn’t but totally amazed at the amount of snuff that they did stock. By word of mouth, they now have myself, Tony and four others supporting them. Clement News Hull. UK.

My Kamal is getting very near the end. This has been a “desktop snuff” for me. Meaning that the container has sat on my desk for four or five months, and I take the occasional pinch. It’s a bit like the bowl of ribbon candy that was kept on your grandma’s coffee table. The stuff is a bit too cloying for anyone to ever consume it all in a few sessions. So it just sits there, month after month. When the bowl is finally empty, anyone who can be bothered to notice can only wonder how exactly that happened. Yeah, that’s it: Kamal is your Indian grandma’s ribbon candy snuff. Will I miss it when it’s finally gone? I guess I’ll find out. @Xander: St. Clements is dangerous for me. I can make a tin of that disappear in no time flat. That is why St. Clements does NOT sit on my desk. If it did, they’d probbaly find me dead of a nicotine O.D.

Small (nasty) tin of J&H Wilsons SP No1 ( little blue tin) finished it into the bin on receipt of my large vacuum sealed tin of same snuff been v disappointed with it in blue tin, but tin has zero air seal and was dry and flavourless on day 1. Vacuum sealed large tin is like night and day difference, and blue tin emptied as handy snuff box for the fresh stuff on a night out!

I taste plenty of apple in mine. It was an artificial tasting apple, I’ll grant you, but clearly apple (and spice). It was much like apple flavored candy (but not like candied apples).

Yes, I’ve seen its photo! But a bad bounce on a hard floor and…I don’t like to think about it. I’ve seen too many snuff tragedies already.

No, nothing lost and it was at home but at least it was a carpet it bounced on. The box is the one that I used for the pictures in the snuff ratings on my site. It’s old, battered and repaired but I’m sort of attached to it!

Alex, if you know your two tins of G C are fresh I would dump them in your ½ lb tub, there should be room. Then give the tub a good shake. I’ve done this many times after ordering tins, then liking so much I then bought in bulk. One helps the other in keeping fresh.

The two 25s are sealed. Also 2 25s of Strasbourg down there. If you think it will be better for them, I will do that. It will save space for sure. I may as well fill a snuffbox of GC while I’m there since I’m out of it up here. Thanks for the tip.

All done. The two Strasbourgs did not quite fit, and I spilled a few grams trying to fit it. The tins were slightly drier than the bulk, but only slightly. Everything is fine now. Now just have to build some booby traps and locks and such to protect it all.

Hello chaps, long time no speak! Terribly sorry I haven’t been on recently however I’ve been rather busy. Anyway, since last time on here I’ve finished 10g Extra Crombs of Comfort, must get more of that stuff. I’ve also done 10g of GH Banana. A lovely snuff that is. 10g Jaxons English Toffee and I swear there were a couple more. Will have to check my empty tins at home. I tend to collect ones that I’ve finished. Anyone else do this?

Just killed 10g of McC Stammheimer Hopfen. It took me about 10 months, this evening I pulled it out from my wardrobe after quite long time of not using it, saw about 2 grams in the tin and decided not to go to sleep before I finish it. A lovely snuff, I must say, I’ll have to buy more of it.

Xander thanks for the info., I know you don’t really care for the menthols so I really appreciate you taking the time to find it. That 25g refill bag would be awesome but I read somewhere that site doesn’t deliver to the US, so I will have to a supplier of that size that will.

@Avedis: Its not the menthol so much anymore but the oil they use. I like menthol more than I used to, but plenty of snuffs overdo it. I quite like Bernard’s Polar Prise, which is similar in flavor to Glestcherprise. I just remembered seeing that there. No biggy. Several of the German shops will actually ship to the US, but you will have to muddle through the site in German. In the case of SnuffStore.de you can write to Günter and order through email, he knows English. I haven’t tried myself, but I have been told by a couple of German members. Nicotine Rush carries the Nachfullbox (refillable box). Perhaps they will carry the refills for it in the future.

I am trying to finish up a few tins that have had a little bit left in them for a while this weekend, GH wild mint and CM, a little tin of ozona cherry that I picked up at a local smokeshop, and one of the littlest size tins of mcchrystal’s anisette, and the remains of a packet of dholakia kamal in my snuffbox. Not really certain that I’d buy another of any of them, they have been lingering around for a while since I wasn’t too enthusiastic about of any of them, though the mc chrystals and dholakia have grown on me and the CM certainly wasnt bad, I just prefer gletcher prise for my early morning menthol needs. After this I’m trying to not have a half dozen tins in use laying around but focus on a couple flavors at a time.

@ bob, yes the Gawith Hoggarth in a tub are totality different. I got mine from Aireys of Kendal Cumbria, UK. The website only shows the 250g tubs, but I phoned Peter Baxter, the proprietor. He said he could get the 25g tubs for me. His shop is a short way from te mill, and maybe if Gawith Hoggarth got en tu im by hoss en cart, then Peter was sharp in sending them to me.
