I am new to taking snuff nasally; only having one experience with it in my youth. So I am hoping you will help me by pointing me toward the next snuffs to consider with my next order. I am thinking maybe White Elephant, and a toast of some kind.

Here is a list of the ones I have found locally and ordered. I do like them all but prefer the scotchs and menthol ones over the sweets.

Bruton Scotch
Dental Mild Scotch
Dental Scotch
Dental Sweet
Red Seal Sweet
WE Garrett & Sons Sweet Snuff
41 Yellow Lilly Mint
6 Photo Motia
Wilsons of Sharrow Prime Minister

I have also dried 2 types of pipe tobacco, and made my own snuff which I like. Any thoughts a pipe tobacco that is great as a snuff would be welcome as well.

Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bulls Eye Flake
Gawith & Hoggarth Bob’s Chocolate Flake

If your homemade pipe tobacco snuff was a natural tobacco scent then you may enjoy the Kendal blends from various outfits. My own desert island snuff is Samuel Gaiwith Kendal Brown Original. Add in Gaiwith and Hoggarth Kendal Brown as my choice for an unscented option. Others in the same wheel house include Viking Brown and Viking Dark, SG Black Rappee, F&T Santo Domingo.

If you’re looking to try a toast start with F&T High Dry Toast. Following that Sir Walter Scott has several wonderful toasts to chose from, Lundy foot, Havana Toast, St James Parish to name a few.

Thanks for the reply Noisebox. I will look into those snuffs and see which I want to try first.

I totally agree with @Noisebox with F&T HDT and also SWS snuffs they make very good artisan snuffs which I think u will enjoy.Maybe we can do a trade I’m looking for Dental mild scotch&Dental scotch&Dental Sweet unopened.I can buy it from you or I have a lot of De Kralingse Snuffs if u want to trade.lmk Peace and good luck, Hawaiian_Ryan :-c P.S.Is hard for me to get those snuffs since I’m on a island(Oahu).I hope u can help me out.

McChrystals Original and Genuine very nice tobacco with a fantastic base, menthol with hints of camphor. McChrystals Highland Ice very similar not as much menthol no camphor but a lovely touch of eucalyptus.

Defiantly try Toque Spanish Gem not a menthol but one of the favorites.

Ive been digging into Viking Brown and Viking Thors Hammer both very nice plain tobacco scents, with a smoky cigar humidifier scent.

if you mastered fine dry snuffs. Go for the W.E. Also Dholakia Sparrow Or Sparrow cool. Toque Quit, Almond toast, and a few other toque snuffs like Whiskey & honey. Wilsons Of Sharrow IHT 22 for scented, Royal George, Grand Cairo.  I could list 500 more!

Order direct for freshest Toque  http://www.toquesnuff.com/.

Hawaiian_Ryan sorry but I’m not ready to get into trading online yet.

Thanks to each of you that have made suggestions I have made a list of these snuffs and will be reading up on them to see which ones I would like to try first.

basement_shaman I have in no way mastered fine dry snuffs. I take very small but multiple pinches of them; Or just a small amount on the very tip of a czech pipe tool. Still even with what i think is great care I feel some of the snuff in my sinuses or hitting the back of my throat at times.

N

^ actually although it may sound counter intuitive large pinches are easier to take than small ones, the larger the pinch the less air is mixing with it when you sniff and the less air you take in the less chance that air will carry the snuff into your sinuses and throat.  So the larger the pinch the less chance of a throat hit, it sounds wrong but its true.

P

Well I tried the larger pinch and went for Bruton Scotch. After bracing myself thinking my face was about to explode I slowly sniffed and it worked. Then being thrilled at my success I forgot to control my berating with the pinch on the other side, and blam like shot to the face I was blasted into what felt like next week.

Thanks for the tip n9inchnails I will continue to work on this method and try to remember to control my sniff next time.
