What snuff should I try?

Hello, everybody. I’ve started to snuff not long ago and the ones I’ve tried so far are Poschl: Red Bull, Apricot, Gletscherprise and Cola. Based on my sympathy for Poschl, what other snuff am I going to like? Out of curiosity I once bought Wilsons of Sharrow Lemon and Lime and I absolutely didn’t like it.

I too have started with Poschl Gletscherprise and worked my way through most of their products. I have to say that I liked most of them too and they kept me going. Are you open to ordering online? I have made very good experiences with mrsnuff.com. Going by your name I assume you are from Germany and Poschls are probably still the easiest to get. As far as trying goes, I think in your case it would be a transition. Wilsons of Sharrow are generally too fine (dusty) in terms of grain size and consistency so your challenge at this stage is technique. If you have learned your ways with Poschl, they’re most likely unpleasant for you. I would suggest that transition by way of Bernard (Kownoer, Offenbacher, Klostermischung, Gekachelter Virginie) which don’t have menthol added to them. If you like that, you can always move on from there. Many people here come from countries where “growing up” with snuff is often based on those very fine snuffs. People enjoy them because they have learned how to snuff them. I’m still struggling with some of those brands. Another recommendation in terms of brand and grain size (because I believe that’s your challenge in enjoying a snuff or not, coming from Poschl) might be Samuel Gawith. Mr Snuff has them. Those however need to be ordered in larger amounts than 10g because the plastic boxes that you already know from Poschl cause those to dry out easily. That’s because Poschls are moist because of oil while most overseas brands use water or nothing. Long story short, that’s my recommendation. Many brands that might be suggested to you as really good (including higher priced offerings like Sir Walter Scott’s) are only as good as your technique of bringing them into your nostrils. If you are open to that kind of development, there will be many very good choices, but coming from Poschl they should in my opinion not be on your list yet.

Thank you, guys. Kiwi78, I also suspect that the snuff being too fine might be part of the reason I didn’t like it. My nose just felt like full of dust. You seem fairly knowledgeable and leave me no chance but to try Samuel Gawith. I live in the UK but have German ancestors, that’s why the name. And, yes, there’s no alternative for me than to shop online - there’s only one shop in my city with very limited choice. Thank you again, your opinion’s appreciated.

mrsnuff.com is shipping from Belfast, I believe. Might be a good option. All the best with your choices.

If you like Poschl try Bernards! I am surprised no one has recommended it. I have only tried one which is there beer snuff but, from everything I read, Bernards is better than Poschl. Klostermischung has my highest interest when I order next from recommendations from fellow snuffers.
