A thread for sharing your experience of stale or otherwise unusable snuff.

Regrettably, after closer inspection I decided to get rid of this old 50 g tin of 41 Photo Himtaj Black. The snuff looked normally, but the musty smell indicated it was stale.
A downer, because I really wanted to try this…

20180414_213339 20180414_213448

N

@volunge - I’ve disposed off 6 x 50 gm tins since I had the same issue. Seems like this is not a snuff which can be stored. The Himtaj Golden however is great even from more than a year back.

A

Is it the snuff or is it the tins that are the issue? What if the snuff were transfered to glass bottles when you get them?

V

@newbiesnuffer, I am excited by Himtaj Golden, it’s very enjoyable snuff, and my tin is older than 3 years.

@ar47, I bought a few tins of really old snuffs at reduced price from mysmokingshop. To make the long transit story short, the parcel was stored under damp conditions for almost a year before I finally got it…

Apparently 41 Photo Himtaj Black is much moister than other Indian black snuffs, it contains less oils and different alkalis than 6 Photo, though I can’t tell for sure, because I didn’t dare to take a pinch in the end.

I have never had any problems with 6 Photo snuffs. There were some issues with metal tins, the seam (juncture?) is their weak side, but the snuff ages really well. It’s stale-proof. 6 Photo blacks are prone to moisture loss only (to some degree). Dholakia (and FUBAR) are quality snuffs, too.

6 Photo snuffs in 200 g tins are packed in plastic bags, so I didn’t bother to decant my Super Kailash into glass. It keeps good in original package.

I’m close to trashing my Elmos Reserve. Tried letting it breathe…still smells like shitty artificial vanilla flavoring. Makes me feel sick just smelling it.

W

@Captainblackboogers, smells like shitty artificial vanilla because it IS shitty artificial vanilla, artificial vanilla or tonka flavoring. Elmos smells exactly like cheap vanilla car air fresheners. In fact the similarity is so strong that I would bet they are using basically the same scenting agent. I actually enjoy Elmos in great moderation and often in a mix, but I imagine I would prefer a naturally tonka scented snuff, something I have not tried yet. I do recall reading somewhere, probably here, that Elmos is made with artificial tonka scent. I believe this is the scent used in cheap automotive air fresheners, or near enough. Anyway, before you toss it you should try using small amounts in blends. I recommend mixing 5 parts plain schmalzler, such as Poschls Perlesreuter or Schmalzler A or Sternecker Echt Fresko, with 1 part Elmos and 2 parts chocolate snuff, preferably Dholakias Swiss Chocolate. THAT is actually delicious.

C

  @willynelson

I like messing with mixes. The other night In a desperate attempt at making some good use out of it mixed a tiny bit of Elmos Reserve  with some KB original, some MCchrystals Aztec and a little Gletscherprise. Can’t stop pinching it.  I think the tonka and chocolate compliment each other really nicely.
I guess I’ll just keep the Elmo’s around a little bit longer.

Another one trashed today:

20180421_182229 20180421_182004

Purchased at a discount, old stock. Got it musty with 41P Himtaj Black.

A

@volunge why did you bin it exactly?

V

It was mouldy. I’m curious, how old was that snuff.

E

Those were probably menthol crystals.

V

@Epitango, I wish they were. My first thought was salt/alkalis crystals, so I took a pinch. Alas, mould…

A

With the oil and menthol it can still mold? I have a tin like that, but labeled Gold not Extra. Got it from MrSnuff (purchased as Extra) It smells like sour mash whiskey, which is a smell from fermentation. Curious if mine might be molded as well? Is that what it’s supposed to smell like? I like the snuff but don’t want to get sick

V

@ar47, I bet yours is fresh. The smell you described is typical of spearmint (just took a pinch of SG Spearmint Gold for a calibration).
Gold is the new name of this snuff. The names and labels changed relatively recently (2017?; please correct me, if I err).
I got mine from another vendor and expected it to be dried out. I don’t blame the vendor, improper storage is at fault. The same story as with the aforementioned binned Himtaj Black…

A

@volunge thanks for the feedback. Sniffing away:) mine is a lighter color than your pictures

V

@ar47, just got a reply from the manufacturer (send them the code last week and told my guess about snuff being old). That particular box of GP Extra was produced in… would you believe it? 2011. Wow!

B

I will probably bin my tap box of gawith original (apricot)…because its vile

A

I thought with the oils and menthol in the German snuffs that one their qualities is being microbial resistant. That’s not what I’m witnessing here on this thread

V

Update on old GP Extra issue.

Got a generous reimbursement from Poschl today - two boxes of Gletscher-Prise Gold. I really wasn’t after it when I contacted them, just wanted to know the mfg year of that old snuff I got from retailer, out of pure curiosity.

Lovely customer care this.

A

Binned a F&T Princes 25g tin last week and a WoS Best Dark today. Both were all corrosion under their tape. The Princes took the prize with oozing black liquid coming through the otherwise-sealed shut lid. The Best Dark I got open but there was some strange clumping (and the snuff around the corroded edges was the color of the corrosion). I scooped a bit of the center of the tin out but sniffing it smelt like a burst battery (same as the Princes) I was looking forward to the Best Dark. Luckily @SammyD13 helped out with the Princes Edit: a bit of a wake up call that I should get any snuffs with moisture out of these tins. I keep most of my snuff in glass, just in glass while still in the tin X_X

S

I binned a WoS Princes for the same rust developing on the inner lid.im now planing on the purchase of bulks and glass.

P

9 x 25g Samuel Gawith Cola . Like many Brits, I bought a shitload of snuff in the EU shakeup of Tobacco products . Snuff was literally pennies . Among the bounty was 300 grams of SG Cola . I bought a few SGflavours, primarily for the empty tins . I have almost limitless uses for SG Vacuum tins .

I ve been meaning to decant ithe SG Cola into glass for ages because the fresh snuff can be quite wet and inky . I needn’t have worriied because it turns out some of the tins were old stock and totally dried out years ago .

There was no mould or rust …but it’s like having 22 tapboxes of moody snuff I ll never want to use . I didn’t throw it directly in the bin but it will be used as testing material for crockpot snus experiments .

Fortunately I found three tins of the fresh gear in there  . SG Cola is now discontinued so they’ll be a rare prize in coming years.

A

@Pikey does it have any scent left after drying out? How does the snuff get dried out if it’s vac sealed? The few old stock SGs I have still retain full moisture - inky, as you say with the darks

P

@ar47 It’s carrying a hint of moisture and residual scent . I wondered about where the moisture went too . I definitely had to pop the seal on most of them .

It’s like night and day though . The fresher snuff is dark with a silky texture , with a strong ‘flat cola’ scent that runs on into a vague floral (in my nose) . However the old one is sharper , much lighter , with a hint of cola in the background . :)

P

@ar47 I m fairly sure I remember this correctly . When I was a lad in the '70s and early eighties , there was still a residual snuff culture locally . Virtually every newsagent carried a bit of snuff …and it sold too .

A commercial traveller used to service the local old style fancy tobacconist with the Sam Gawiths and GH . While he was there he would serve up the local newsagents with tins and tapbox forerunners .

SG Cola(I believe) was only available loose from a jar in the posh tobacconists and it was like the holy grail for the 11/12 year old me   . He wouldn’t sell me tobacco of any kind unless it was pipe stuff for my dad . I used to snuff a bit if I couldn’t afford a smoke  . A dusty tin of  Wilsons could be had for like 11 pence from the high street newsagent whereas 10 cigarettes was around 50pence . I was a poor kid but I could usually rustle up 15p for a snuff .

I tried allsorts of ruses to get hold of that  cola snuff . :D  Despairing , one day I plucked up the courage to ask for 20 pence worth when I was picking up my fathers Clan  . No dice : he even told my Dad , the bastard I don’t think I ever got to even try it as a kid and always regretted it   . By the time I was 16 , that old place had long gone and loose snuff was an oddity.

When I discovered online snuff buying a couple of years ago virtually the first things I bought were all the cola snuffs .

R

Some old toque peanut butter meeting the bin today. Old and been carrying it daily…too bad toque tins cant stand being abused…anyone got any ideas for a snuffbox that can take rough handling and transport?

A

@Rogue what’s happened to the tin that it’s no longer serviceable? I have some pretty banged up ones but I’ve only had to bin the ones that people other than me, who don’t respect threads, have cross-threaded @Pikey thanks for the tale. I like Toque Coke, probably from a childhood of Coke ICEE. I forget with every order to buy old stock of WoS Cola from MrSnuff. I’ve recently come around to SG so the telling of binning 9 25’s sounds akin to posting you’re going to kick 9 puppies

R

@ar47 no threads left on it, what seemslike aluminum dust has entered the snuff, no longer semi-sealed, lid reaches bottom of the tin.

C

My little thing of Postillian is getting dumped out.  All I can say about it is “Ewwwwww.”  Might save and clean out the tap box though.

D

@Rogue

I’d make it 2 years to the month that you’ve had that Peanut Butter tin I have a Lime Toast tin from the same eon that I carry almost daily & the lid just about touches the bottom also.

R

@dan11 heh, yeah, that’s the one! I’m kind of amazed it lasted that long though. I usually have my EDC snuffs for a few months at max before everything spills out through cracks and holes in the tin…that’s 99.99% purely my own fault though, as I seem to be carrying tools in all of my available pockets…and bolts and screws…and sometimes spare parts…if it wasn’t for a knife, I think I’d still have that less than 1 g of toque peanut butter that was left in the tin. I actually tried a sniff, but the small pieces of metal or whatever felt like it was cutting my nose…just couldn’t take it. How does your Lime Toast look/feel? Still ok?

E

Binning a few little 6 photos that don’t agree with me, & one or two other snuffs to which I added some.

A

Binned a Gletscherprise Gold this morning that looked much worse than @volunge 's old Extra back in April. I ordered it many months ago and had just opened this morning

S

@ar47 knowing how carefully you store your snuffs, that must have already been pretty old when you got it!

A

Im about to toss 1kg of poschl shmaltzlers in the trash because the paper bags they come in are terrible at keeping it fresh. I vacuum sealed every one of them the day they arrived but the 2 I immediately decanted into glass jars were bad enough. They need to offer the whole line in sealed foil packs.

B

I binned a lot of tins not too long ago - Hedges, Toque, many WoS. Sometimes, if a snuff does not agree with you, you have to part with them. These were too old to give away, but in future I will be happy to donate to any takers.

These days, I only buy a tin to try something new out. The things I know I like, I buy in bulk. It’s really so much better.

T

Everything I buy, after one week or two goes straight to glass jars.Even the dry ones.

I have learned my lesson…

A

@barredbenny makes sense from your perspective, but for what it’s worth some day the snuffs may become discontinued and then even dried out, years-old examples become gold to the new enthusiasts who never got to try them in the snuff’s prime. Speaking from experience as someone lucky enough to be on the receiving end of that equation a few times now

B

@ar47 Yes I suppose you are right about that. I shall hold on to them for posterity from now on!

V

@Afterglow, have you tried refreshing them? If they are just dried out and there’s no mould, worth mixing some with fresh Bernard Kownoer or SG KB (both are really moist, when fresh). Fresh Neftobak should do the trick, too, and I would even try blending it with NTSU black. You can boost and moisturize any Poschl schmalzler that way, without altering the original aroma much.

Or you could use coarse, dark, smoky and medium moist WoS Singleton’s Super Cool for that purpose, if you don’t mind light menthol and a hint of smokiness. I enjoyed it with Perlesreuter.

Poschl Glestscherprise Gold is another super moist snuff, decent for rehydration. Tried it with some stale (bone dry) Extra Crumbs of Comfort and witnessed the resurrection.

V

Just binned about 12 grams of stale Taxi Red (in that large flat can). Could not get along with that musty odour.

Kept the can, tho.

Won’t be ordering again any red Taxi from the current stock.

H

Tossed my WoS Irish 22 and WoS Honey Menthol (Bee M) 25g tins yesterday.  Received January 2014.  There was something foul going on with the 22 but I quit noticing it after a while… that is, until I received a fresh order of snuff. Couldn’t really notice anything foul in the Menthol snuff, just sort of a one dimensional meh with rebound but the menthol is still pretty strong.  All the same, 5 1/2 years is a respectable go, especially in those crummy tins.  Don’t know how I made it so long without some fresh snuff on hand though!

H

Opened a new tin of sharrows Irish 22 from 2014. Not worth using. Binned.

V

I’m a bit surprised to hear that 22 didn’t make it with that low water activity… Old version of SG Irish D Light was a good keeper, still have a few pinches in a good shape from a tin which is at least five years old (lost the count).

A

Amazing the amount of snuff thrown away.

I have had a few rusty tins in the past that had to go out with the enclosed dubious contents.

Large amounts go into glass, but any that are not appetizing are kept in store for a later sampling.

I hated  Old Paris the first couple of tries, but really enjoy it now after a long break between originally buying and trying.

The waste of once good snuffs reminds me of a saying that was attributed to Mr Colman of Colmans  Mustard and Starch fame.

" I make my fortune from the mustard that people leave unused on the plate."

More mustard is purchased than actually consumed.  You still have to pay for it though.

It’s the same with snuff.    But who bothers when prices are so very reasonable.

And just for the sake of completeness,  a rhyme from my childhood days.

Colmans Mustard

Colmans Starch

Tell mister Colman to stick it up his  a##e.

I believe the rhyme dates from at least the 1920s.

Cheers all.

V

@ArtChoo Some vendors just keep in stock stale stuff. I’m so tempted to modify that Colmans rhyme

M

I have a tin of Himtaj as seen in the first post photo. Only about a gram left. Dry as hell. Took a pinch and wow! Still has that scent I used to love. I have probably about 250 tins of snuff, some half full, some way less. I have boxes of them in my closet. I keep telling myself that I will go through them but I never do. So, the only empty tins I throw out are the ones I have too many of. NTSU green is my answer to this question I suppose. I buy it in the 12 pack roll twice a year.

M

BTW, is “binned” the British equivalent of throwing away?

B

Seems so, i only know from Andy Zaltsman catchphrase from the bugle podcast!

C

Don’t know if this counts but last night i had a nice sized little tupperware full of fresh Toque Quit and a beer open on my little table and i rose suddenly because it sounded like some racoons were dragging a dead body across the yard and spilled the whole little tupperware as well as my beer on the floor.  What a strange and gross smell the mixture of quit and Miller high life.  It still smells tonight…maybe i should actually clean it up.

B

Bad day with the wind,

After laboriously prising off the lid of a tin of WoS Grand Cairo a gust sucked the entire contents out. A fine brown mist wafted up the street coated a car window and my dog. Bugger.
Never fear, I have some Prime Minister, Oh look, now I haven’t, another gust, missed the dog this time.

Double bugger.

S

Three tins of Santo Domingo

V

@StudiodecolBleu, what containers did you store your Domingo in?

S

@volunge factory that I opened although as I noticed later your post about leaching out something it may have not been mold but better to play it safe.

D

Jaxson’s Queen special I’ve had the run for over two years in my stash, opened it few days ago to try it and decided it’s not for me. It’s not a bad snuff at all it’s just that a have tons of snuff that I really love. One life is not enough, can’t waste time with ’ok’ snuffs when I have ‘omfg i love that’ snuffs to last me for ages.

B

100g Viking spear (pre WOS). I’ve had it for some years thinking i might start enjoying it at some point but alas it just clogs my nose up fiercely and the scent is ok but not good enough to tolerate the congestion. Speaking of Viking i miss the old Viking Thors Hammer. The new WOS variety doesn’t do it justice and doesnt even come close in terms of product, like they weren’t even trying to make it similar in grind or flavor or were intentionally making it different… and Viking Blond seems suspiciously similar to Dr. Rumney Brown.

V

@Bryceton, so very true about Thor’s Hammer. It’s not a terrible snuff on it’s own, but has little in common with the genuine one. However, I do like the new Blonde and find it superior to SG - less cloggy and a tad stronger.

Talking about Dr. Rumney’s Brown, I’m about to bin a large tin. It’s indeed similar to Blonde by the looks, they even come with the same batch codes (same 309 '20A on my tins), but differ in composition. Blonde is slightly moister, stronger and smells very refreshing, akin to Neffa Ifrikia, whereas Brown has a whiff of something off-putting, sort of stale (I have to force myself to take a pinch). I’m actually not sure, if it’s stale, but it’s very different from previous batches, lacking in all qualities I used to love it for. And I was a big fan of Brown in 2016-2018.

A

Finally I binned this Toque Almond Toast its been sitting in a jar ~100g for 5 years or more and every time I give it a chance it fails to satisfy me or simply fails to make me liking it. Too much sweet almond and no toast flavor in my opinion. I was cleaning and saw this jar after maybe a year from my previous pinch so I tried it. It was the drop that spilled the glass. I binned the whole glass jar. It’s not for me. But generally I am very difficult when it comes to flavored/ scented snuffs.

P

Very close to throwing out Med 666, I think I have an allergy to it the moment I take a pinch I’m sneezing non-stop for 10 - 20 mins and then a day to get back to normal.

S

@PintandaPinch i just binned a sampler tin of the med666 for the same reason.

C

Snuv Black Rose - I love all of the other Black snuffs from Snuv, but the Rose tin note was too much like week old festival toilets in the height of summer and it didn’t get any better in the nose.
Can’t win them all

D

Snuv Back in Black. Bone dry, with the fetid scent of a long-forgotten wedge of Pecorino Romano. Truly awful. Never again.

Addendum (edit): Nice black tin, though. Will be keeping it for reuse, after thoroughly washing and sanitizing it with isopropyl alcohol that is.

Addendum to addendum (edit): Filled the cleaned tin (which needed more than just soap and isopropyl alcohol to exorcise the ghosts) with a big ole’ heap of SG Elmos Reserve. I feel much, much better now.

C

I’ve had issues with Black Eye having dried out, it was superb after rehydration but I think there might be something about those black tins

K

The black Himtaj from 41 photo is one of my favorite snuffs. But the tin that I ordered arrived super rusted, so scraped the top layer into the garbage and decanted the rest into a glass jar I had. Really love these Indian black snuffs but they always seem to rust in their metal tins. Must be the humidity in their warehouses.

K

That sounds awful. The Snuv tins are super fluffy too usually, I wonder how long it took to dry out and if the lid wasn’t closed very well or not.

K

I binned a small 6g plastic tin of 6 photo Begum Green. It was the only snuff I ever threw in the garbage. Super cloying sweet smell, weird green color that I’ve never seen, and the scent is super sour to me. I’m glad others enjoy but it isn’t for me.

B

WoS Extra M, rock hard and smelling strongly like floor sweepings from a damp outhouse.

K

Wow thats weird! Usually snuffs will become bone dry when gone bad / become old unless it’s one of those black and coarse snuffs like WoS Africa or some Bernards out there.

C

Janta Indian Rustica ‘Clubs’
Absolutely vile stuff - smells like cheap incense in the tin and lingers in the nose; the cinnamon is hard to pick out over the obnoxious rose scent.

I took a bump about 2 hours ago, I’ve bumped Bernard’s Virginie a few times since and still suffering the Janta

C

I’m on the point of ditching my Cafe Regal. Not that there’s anything wrong with it; I just can’t come to terms with it. I used to love it, but I guess my tastes have changed in the past few years. I’m finding that it’s the plainer snuffs that get my attention these days.

L

Toque cheese and bacon, my god that stuff is disgusting

B

Bit of a purge, Touque Ambrosia (not!), Spanish Gem, Coltsfoot. 4 tins of JNF so rusted I can’t open them , their labels missing or illegible. 9 small tins reused with unidentifiable contents, so dry I’m at risk of a dust explosion opening them near a naked flame. Several snuff bullets with cracks, corrosion issues, mainly 6P contents.

D

May be tossing the simply snuff buccaneer, a bit too cloying for me

C

6 Photo Special. I couldn’t take to it at all.

K

Simply Snuff Horsefeathers. WAY too much clove… such a shame since it’s a large tin and great texture to the snuff but it’s so cloying

P

My girlfriend supposedly likes it so she can have the tin, I’m done with it! As you said, very cloying and nothing as the description describes. Also, the smell stays on your handkerchief until you wash it!

F

I’m noticing alot of people binning various types of Simply Snuff. I’m joining the smart crowd and binning the tin of Simply Snuff Duck Soup that I’ve been suffering through.

I’m no longer trusting Simon’s judgement since he thought this snuff was good enough to have his likeness on the tin lid. It’s like dumping the whole spice cabinet in bowl, mixing, then snuffing from the bowl.

C

I have to say, Duck Soup and Marrakesh are my faves from the SS range - I’m a huge fan of the clove and cinnamon flavours though, so maybe that helps.
Although I find myself largely ignoring the menthol flavours now, in favour of plainer snuffs, these are like a comfort snuff for me now (maybe because they were among my first snuff experiences…)

C

Stargazer. Went through the wash…

K

Yup I felt the same way. I was excited to purchase all the types he offered but I ended up binning most of them. Such a waste of money and tobacco… Almost all of them have a strong clove scent and a bunch of spices. Am I cooking or am I taking tobacco? Such a shame…

K

Oh man… Any chance it stained your clothes at all?

K

I binned the chocolate version of Janta, called King. Smelled nothing like chocolate to me and smelled kind of chemically…very weird.

C

I suspect their storage plays a big part - everything I’ve encountered from them was tainted with a chemical/rose hue which overpowered whatever the base was meant to be; thoroughly unenjoyable.

A

Today I found another jar (I thought I had binned all of these a year later) full of Janta Red Label Indian Black snuff and another one full of Janta Punjabi snuff…

If I had the strength I would be sending these two snuffs straight to the Sun with a baseball bat to disappear them from Earth once and for real lol

P

Lowen Prise, I’m allergic to something in it. And a brand so bad I’m totally cool with the 160 grams (cherry, OFS, ficus rapee, barleywine, apricot and sp blue) not taking space in my super hip vacuum storage system.

M

Dholakia Black - Described as it boasts earthy, tangy, and molasses notes with a medium coarse grind and moist texture. In reality its smells of rotting wet leaves with a substancial hint of dog turd

Just as well it’s one not to be restocked. hopefully the better snuffs from them will be and also come in 100g option

Hopefully it was not a lot… Nice ball’s tho.

N

I always said they should change the name to Dholakia Cowpie because thats what it smells like when you put it in your nose, like you just stepped on a cowpie. If you love the smell of fresh cowpie in the morning then Dholakia Black is the snuff for you.

P

Full tin of Sam Gawith Peach . Gag gift for myself years ago . Rusted out .

Jaxons Raspberry menthol . I’m a frugal man and hate waste but another 5 years might pass before I finished that bloody overflavoured SG snuff . Snuff was still fine but the tin was showing some early signs of corrosion so probably for the best anyway .

D

I trashed two today, well, I gave them to my 23 year old son to share with his Army buddies, or enemies ;)…BOHICA. Holy crap, why would you want to basically pepper spray yourself up the nose!! So painful! My son and I both were in tears! Lol! Loved the bonding moment however…the second one was Epicurean Sunday Roast!! Sooo garlicky and gross! Just no!! Lol!!

C

Toque Whiskey & Honey USA…unfortunately
about 9 grams went through the washer and dryer

T

8g tub of JNF Crystal I got in a sampler pack, no nicotine mentholated snuff. There is no way I could use this in public since it is pure white, and i mean pure white.

Would probably have chucked it anyway because of the lack of nicotine but the added chance of getting arrested makes it a no brainer.

D

That <3 was for…‘I feel your pain.’

P

Pigs do have drug type test kits in a tackle box in the trunk. I do bigger boxcars than their sample requirements. But my daily nicotine requirements are equal in absorption to half maybe 2/3 a fag. I just did 3 days with Snuffy Weiss (in the factory tap tin) and 0,3% vape sludge.

Then Wednesday, my cats let themselves out and a bunch of mosquitos in, so I was instructed by the Mrs. to smoke the buggers out. Redburn pipe tobacco to the rescue. Harumph! Is the only way to describe that rush.

Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition. FUBAR. Military/NATO equipment is generally some of the roughest finished industrial equipment made. And generally by the lowest bidder. Drop you cocks and grab your socks! The Holy Virgin Mother Mary will only be met in Valhalla by those that suffer. I’m not saying FUBAR is made by the lowest bidder, yet, the marketing serves as a warning to me.

T

May have drugs kits in the States, here they pick you up and test it down the station. Even if they did I wouldn’t want to be seen with white powder in public.

P

Man! Bobbies just have no budget for kit, apparently. But yeah, I don’t take the stuff to work and I probably wouldn’t take it to a public park. So far I’ve only used it at home and in the wilderness. I do not want to have the opportunity to discuss the contents of that tin with a law enforcement official. I’ve even mentioned to the Mrs. that’d it’d be nice if they gave it some color.

P

Marketing. Macho Man Randy Savage endorsed Slim Jim “meat” snacks. I love the Macho Man, but Slim Jim’s aren’t going to make me better entertainment fighter. And when you have to eat a minimum of 8K calories of clean food a day, I highly doubt he enjoyed the snack. Simon is a tradie, some of the snuff he claims to pocket daily are much better outside. Just an example; 6 photo Gold rush, indoors it’s a blast of spice, then fruit. Outdoors, the spices are non apparent but in sensation, then fruit blossoms the tropical fruit, then some spice the more floral. Some spices work on physical mechanisms outdoors but indoors it’s like someone slapping you with chistmas cakes.

I don’t know. I haven’t found appeal in the product descriptions of SS.

N

Have to agree about Gold Rush. I like it in moderation, but it really shines in the outdoor air. There’s no doubting the difference the air we breath makes where snuff is concerned, but the differences in Gold Rush are more apparent than with any other snuff I’ve used.

P

I binned my 23 year old tapbox of Jockey Club . If I can get the tap clean I’ll use it in the rotation for my pocket snuffs .

A full tin of Samuel Gawith Cola .Rusted out .

Got glass jars of SG Cola coming out of my arse . There was a couple of leftover tins I couldn’t find room for . This one didn’t make it . That whole batch of snuff tins wasn’t great quality . Many of the Cola tins I emptied and washed out years ago didn’t last for long as storage tins . Most that batch have ended up in the recycling .

X

I’m a US Army vet too and thank your son for his service.

D

I will!! And thank you for your service as well. I was an Army wife for 21 years and now a proud Mom. I am beyond grateful for veterans.

D

Lol. FUBAR is one of my favorites.

P

I’ve learned to love that stuff that smells like fruit blossoms.

P

3 x 10g Poschl Gawith Cola . Part of a batch that arrived rancid years ago . Been sitting in an envelope propping up some snuff tins for a long time :D.

20g Yellow Lily Mint . Rust …also the snuff was awful .
