What is your favorite snuff at the moment

K

Mine I would say is Toque Blueberry Menthol. -Kidnapper

C

Right now, it’s a toss-up between the Toque Peach and the Toque Coke. This could change by next week though.

S

Mine is probably what I don’t have any of at the moment: some type of menthol.

S

right now, I think its Dholakia Manjul. Unfortunately, all I have of it is the sample I got from Mr Snuff. I really need to buy lots more of it.

B

WoS Strasbourg. Up until a year ago I couldn’t stand it, as I couldn’t stand a lot of perfumey snuffs. In fact, for years I only liked toasts (I also didn’t realize American dry snuffs were for snuffing as well as dipping so went to great lengths to get toasts from England when I had a bounty of cheap and wonderful snuff here at home). For some reason my tastes changed and I adore this along with all F&Ts, Rose of Sharrow, etc.

N

5 Photo, Super Himalaya. Always hits the spot for me…

S

Gold Mull for sure.

G

Tom Buck all the way, I just love the strength of the bergamot in this one

D

Today it is McCrystals Hopps

O

WoS Gold Label vs Toque Spanish Gem vs IDHT #20 There Can Be Only One… bah! (-;

K

Well the good thing about this discussion is that it’s for the moment, but then as your tastes change, as well they will, you can post more comments based on your feelings of any snuff that you fancy, for the moment. -Kidnapper

J

Or…see the what’s in your nose thread.

J

Toque quit

P

McC Mild Lemon

B

SM Blue. Not an all day snuff for me but a great treat.

O

Poeschl Lowen Prise

B

Poschl ‘D’ Dopplearoma

A

McChrystal’s O&G.

D

Today it is Dholakia White, Black, and Ganga mixed equally three ways. At last I have found a way to get the White into my nose without dieing.

L

It’s whatever snuff is in my nose or about to go in my nose. Right now, its WoS IHT #22.

K

Well it has changed again to Toque Original, mostly because I need to start saving my Blueberry Menthol. -Kidnapper

S

At the moment it is Wilsons Prime Minister. I just can’t keep away from it.

T

Definitely WoS IHT #22.

K

I like the Toque Rose a lot today. Really gets the spring kicked off. -Kidnapper

H

I wish I could decide, too new at it I guess. Hitting at least 10 brands a day! how about… F&T High Dry Toast

A

Dental Mild.

B

ganga. MAkes me feel exotic. I guess almost anything with rose actualy. Since I’am digging the macouba just as much.

T

Whatever I can get into my nose. LOL…seriously though…I would have to say Dholakia White has become almost an obsession

Z

Rooster.

B

again whatever had rose in it. I’ve realized never had one that I didn’t love. Which is strange because I think rose scent is good but with tobacco some how it’s amazing.

X

I’m with you bob. I haven’t found a rose snuff I didn’t like.

W

WE Garret Scotch for just now (really any Scotch or Toast whenever I use steady for a while I just keep liking whichever one I’m on more and more as I go), but just thinking about it, at any time I could also sure really especially go for Railroad Mills Plain (already thinking that besides the plastic Levi I got, Railroad is going to be the next American Scotch I’ll likely get in its bigger container)

B

seriously why does rose go so good with snuff??? It’s kind of confusing me now.

K

I have been taking Toque Rose almost exclusively now for a few days. I think it’s the spring. -Kidnapper

B

I can’t wait to try the toque rose. Though I’am afraid if I do I may end up with a collection of just wilsons rose, macouba (still need to try more varieties), toque rose, and ganga and the others. All the others.

O

Make sure and add de Kralingse Macuba to that collection bob. The rose, while subtle, is in there!

X

And wish you had some Martian Rose.

F

Supernova - A mix of Dholakia White and Hedges, its lovely. And Wilson’s Rose, because I adore the smell of roses, havent seen one in years and have 2 pounds of it from the recent Wilson’s web launch offer.

M

BonBon has been my favourite for a while now. Thanks MrSnuff for sending me that trail packet that made me have to have more!

S

Toque Whiskey & Honey for me I think Bob needs to get some of that Rose Indian stuff, Cant remember the name. Get it at the indian grocer down the street.

F

I’ve snuffed mainly WoS and I’ve had a lot of them but it has surprised me that the one I keep reaching for is the Best SP.

E

No surprise there, Frosted! Best SP has been my go to snuff for years, and still is.

T

While there are many snuffs I like, like Himalaya, I still think my number one fave remains to be Dholakia Sparrow Cool.

S

I’m getting through a tin of WoS Peach Melba rather quickly right now, but I’m mixing things up with some McChrystal’s O&G. I think O&G is great but with all the new (for me) and exciting snuffs in my collection at the moment I’m finding it hard to make time for some of the old faithfuls.

B

I went to the RJ Cigar main store in Burlington, NC where they have american snuffs in 12 packs for very low prices and picked up some STARR snuff. It’s relatively bland, more like F&T HDT than other americans, but it snuffs so easily without much penchant for hitting the back of the throat that I’m loving it. You can take big honking pinches endlessly. For the price, I think it’ll likely replace HDT as my primary.

I

ATM Bernard Zwiefacher

K

Toque Berwick Brown -Kidnapper

P

Without a doubt it’s a very plain one, but it’s j&h Wilsons S P No 1

K

I’ve changed my mind now to Gawith Cola. -Kidnapper

P

Ooh! Gawith cola, not had that in a while! I should add re my last post, am lucky to be able to source large vacuum tins of j&h Wilsons, which is leagues ahead. Worried it will get harder to find, I have 4 or 5 unopened tins in stock. Also worried how quick I’m getting through it I like it that much it’s just good, honest, toasty chocolatey snuff with good nic hit.

K

I’m really liking the Toque Raspberry right now. Good thing I have quite a bit. -Kidnapper

S

Mullins & Westley Jock’s Choice at the moment

L

At the moment I would say Toque Cherry but that will probably change in a day or two

B

im hoovering up loads of hedges at the moment.

W

My favourite is Toque Natural Toast at the minute. I’ve gone through half 1 25g tin in the last 3 days. I’ve not been on toasts for a long long time but am really getting back into them. Stefan

J

Toque Peppermint, ever since the first pinch

P

Kostlich, so delicious

B

The moment it is Toque Vanilla. Which is odd when I first got it I thought it was good very good but nothing really special (kind of Vanilla as the stupid saying goes.). I don’t know why but it seems much richer and creamier then when I first opened the tin. Although its not an all dayer its been being thourghly enjoyed when snuffed.

B

Crumbs Of Comfort forever.

R

@bipolar I thought you were a schmalzer man?

B

Love the schmalzer, just as a “after dinner” treat. Not a all day style of snuff for me by any means. Still a fan per se, if that makes any sense…

R

Oh I see. So would you recommend Klostermischung as a beginner Schmalzer? It seems to have good reviews. Any tips on taking it?

B

@rdunnion- Yes, I’d recommend the ol’ clergy as a beginner Schmalzer (tho-I been told it’s more hybrid). It’s easy to take, but the drip is pretty nasty (bitter). It either runs down your throat or runs out your nose. The downside is the tap box. I always pour too much out on back of the hand. For some reason, it’s nearly impossible to pinch and sniff like the English snuff. Like I said, not a all day snuff for it tends to clog me up after a certain amount of daily use. I prefer it in the evenings, after dinner.

P

Klostermischung is good for anyone, whether you are a novice or been snuffing for 100 years!! Nobody should ever be without it.

N

For a novice I would recommend Bernard Doppelt Fermentiert. I is sweet and smooth in the nose. Klostermischung seems a little gritty to me.The drip in Doppelt is sort of sweet.

K

I feel that I may be enjoying Toque Rose a little too much lately. -Kidnapper

R

I been into hedges lately

J

F&T Santo Domingo. I’ve been taking it almost exclusively. Dark, earthy, woodsy, mysterious and not too floral… Is there a similar blend in other makers’ line-ups?

A

I usually use blends, at the moment its half and half Burgundy and Best SP from WoS. Fantstic. The courseness of the Burgundy is smoothed out by the SP and you get a gorgeous aromatic, strong snuff.

J

Toque Spanish gem. I just can’t stop pinching

L

NTSU black and NTSU menthol. Nice and damp an reeking of ammonia. When the nose cant take any more ammonia from the black, switch to the menthol for a rest. Is it me or is the menthol really peppermint?

C

I also get more mint from it than menthol.

I

@jariT- I feel the same about Santo Domingo. A very happy smell for me. I have easily used it allday for weeks at a time

I

ATM I’m into a mix of 1part toque original 1part Queens Extra 1part Grand Cairo. i call it the triple SP Extra

S

past month has been Dholakia Manjul, love this stuff

R

McC Hops

C

This week it has been mostly Berwick Brown and Whisky & Honey. Both in huge pinches.

P

WoS lemon grove keep reachin for it great stuff

B

Sm Blue. It’s a classic.

N

WoS Lemon Grove…

F

5 Photo Super Himalaya

W

My favorite snuff of the moment is which ever one I pick up, right now Mild Lemon, wait a minute, whats this one, and on and on.

D

It’s summertime and I rarely use snuff during these hot n’ nasty months but a few weeks ago I was attacked by either a cold or allergies and Dholakia Blue Sparrow comforted me & help relieve congestion, I stopped reaching for afrin. The occasional pinches throughout the summer will be of fruity snuffs though - blueberry, champagne, lemon…etc. <– my favs at the moment

J

St. Clements

S

Bernard’s Klostermischung. I love a packed nose! And it really is a great snuff.

D

Im going to have to say WoS Best SP. I got a 25g tin of this for the 1st time recently and I murdered the whole friggin tin in less than a week. Thats alot of Snuff for me…

E

I’m new to snuffing, but i have taken

J&H Wilson sp no 1

hedges

tom buck

best sp

f&T high dry toast

kendal brown

and the winner by a long way i s J&H Wilson Sp no 1

second favorite is Best Sp

third  Kendal brown

4th hedges

5th tom buck

last place and never getting snuffed again ever …ever ever ever…f&t Shit dry toast.

J

schmaltzlerfranzl followed by toque quit mixed with chocolate. I’m finding the hdt a bit burny atm as well eblip. From the same tin I was enjoying a few weeks back, must be something to do with the state of my nostrils. I bet you try it again later and love it.

S

Snuffhouse Cafe Noire- sadly, the last tin I will ever have.

S

I just received 50 grams of Dholakia Taj and, oh, the Taj! Far and away my fave snuff. I rarely will use it as an all-dayer because I’m afraid that overuse will cause me to get tired of it. And I avoid using it early in the day in case I decide to follow it with a different snuff. The Taj aroma is so persistent that it will overwhelm the newly-pinched snuff or the aromas will combine into something nasty, which is no bueno. I like to use it as a nightcap because I like waking up the next morning with an incense aroma in my nose. Exquisite! And I just ordered three more 50 gram containers of it as I never want to run out. What can I say, I’m in love with this heavenly snuff. They give it to you free in Nirvana; just one of the perks for those fortunate enough to make it there!

C

At the moment it would probably be Spanish Gem. I realized this last night when i lost my tin and had a minor freak out because none of my other snuffs wuld be as enjoyable at the time.

My shnoz needs what my shnoz needs, when it needs it…nothing else would tickle that itch.

B

Toque Cheese & Bacon. Sadly I just ordered 10 grams of it. Will go for the economy bag next time.

D

Mysore Sandalwood from 6 Photo- a true masterpiece.

H

Aecht Altbayerischer Schmalzler but just at the moment.

I could almost change tomorrow

B

Sans Souci aka marmalade for the nose.

N

6P Mysore Sandalwood, Toque Spanish Gem and F&T Old Paris

K

Otto Scma

S

Toque usa Kentucky bourbon atm

C

Irish no 22, hands down. It is one snuff my nose never tires of

V

Neftobak, SG Kendal Brown and SVS Madras.

Many thanks to @schmalzlerfranzl, @newbiesnuffer and @Humppa - every single pinch of these snuffs makes me happy!

S

@volunge It was a pleasure dear friend

N

@volunge - don’t thank me, or I will have to do it a hundred times I was glad the package finally reached you and didn’t get swallowed by the postal service.

N

Lately i have stack with 6P 6…  time will pass

Z

WOS Africa. Love the chocolatey taste.

J

I rotate so very many snuffs in a day, week, month, but continually come back to dragon brand madras. Ive often thought if i could only have 1 type forever, it may well be this one.

N

Currently having a love affair with 6P Begum Green

T

No surprise if you follow the What’s up your nose thread. Gotta be Toque USA W&H.

B

Back to an old favourite, F&T HDT, it;s always a toss up between this and Irish No.22.

M

I’ve made my own favorite with vintage Dental Sweet, spearmint eucalyptus oils, and a pinch of menthol crystals. Strong and has great drip.

B

Toque bespoke dark smokey sambac Jasmine. It’s kind of insanely good. Then honestly after that anything rose. No clue why but Rose and tobacco just love each other and compliment each other in a way that defies explination.

M

@bob - If it’s not inappropriate to ask; what kind of money does Rodrick want for custom orders? I’ve been pondering ordering some Sambac Jasmine myself  :-?

B

I can’t speak for him but when I ordered it the cost was the regular price the only stipulation is you have to get a pound which is the most cost effective way to go anyways.

M

@bob - Thanks for the reply, I’ll have a chat with Rodrick directly 1lb/500g is probably a bit too much for what I’m thinking.

M

My new favorites are the Artisans I received last week from Roderick. The Rappees are all excellent! The three others are also excellent. Resolute, Fireman’s, JP are each unique and very refreshing! The Rappees are dark moist delicious snuffs that develop their scents in the nose and produce a tasty drip that’s not sweet, but still enjoyable. Worth the wait definitely. I recommend them to all aficionados.

I

Cafe regal . Beautiful smoky tobacco with a nice sharp tingle .
