Something seems wrong here. Big increases almost everywhere. GH bulk more than doubled, SG bulk almost doubled, increases on F&T and WoS. Cheaper to buy tins than bulk now. I hope this is a mistake.
was idle speculation.
I will take a look. It doesn’t sound right.
was there any luck on this? SG went from $32 to $50 for 260g, GH went from $32 to $70!!! Those aren’t just inflation increases.
wowsers that does sound wrong.
I don’t remember what the previous bulk prices were but looking at the current prices for GH and SG the bulk prices do look completely out of line with the prices of tins. I would suspect that - as @MrSnuff has suggested - there must be some problem with the site. It would not make any sense that 250g bought in bulk would be significantly more expensive than buying 10 X 25g tins.
A while back the Fubar Grunt bulk price jumped as well. I think that one had been a sale price. I was about to order another 500 grams and then came the price change. Now I am debating if I need it or to wait for another sale.
It would be great if we’d hear back from Dave on this. C’mon Dave, these are 500g prices for 250g containers, and it’s not just one instance, it’s almost every brand you offer.
I’d rather it be fixed then get regular updates.
Ok here is the deal. I set these prices way back when. In all my excitement I simply took the raw cost and added on a bit of profit. Andrea took over inventory a short while ago and gently pointed out that on special order items (among others) I had neglected to include the extra shipping, the extra stocking fees (done on per inbound shipment basis), extra SKU charges, extra labor on the fulfillment side, extra labor on our side etc. In short we were jumping through all these hoops and making no money. I asked her to rectify the situation, which she did. There is no way we can compete with the manufacturers on this. However I sharpened my pencil and have skinnied down the margins just for my good friends here at snuffhouse, since I suspect most bulk orders come from here anyway. I know that is not exactly what you want to hear, but we have to stay in business.
Profits? Sustainable business model? Proper cost allocation? MADNESS!!!
Dave I understand what you’re saying and why you need to do this, just as I’m sure you understand why I started the thread in the first place. When a vendor is selling ten 25g tins for less than a 250g tub, it smells funny to the customer on the other end of the web browser. If the dollars and cents doesn’t work out for bulk, why not eliminate it and give us the best possible tin pricing? Speaking of which, did SG and GH 25g tins go up a $1 per today? Ouch, that’s a 25% price increase. I should have kept my mouth shut.
@cakeanddottle: Yes you should have kept your mouth shut ;-). I thought I had these prices nailed but had Andrea run an analysis on those too. It is good for me having someone with a bean counter brain as a balance for my ‘that’ll work’ snuff-hobbyist approach. Don’t worry though, we have to have the correct prices in place, but then we give some back with points and specials and discounted shipping etc.
Maybe the problem here is Andrea…just sayin’ lol
Thanks alot @cakeanddottle, now everything is more expensive! (kidding of coarse)
