Just tried golden glow made by Samuel gawith and almost puked. The smell of this stuff is gross in my opinion…anyone have a nasy experience with any kind of snuffs?

@TazWrx Ya know, I’m gonna catch a lot of hell for this, and I’ve resisted to this point saying it. But I really can’t stand Dholakia White. It’s like someone shoved a very dead fish up my nose. I’ve changed tables at restaurants because someone next table ordered it. OK. Just did another pinch. >GAK< . Nope. Can’t stand it. I’d bet if I had a cat he’d be following me around.

I left the top off a can of Dholakia Chocolate overnight and the first pinch the next morning made me sick, almost like milk that had gone off - very strange but I can’t touch it now.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Super Chetak. Maybe Chetak is Hindi for a mix of incense and dung.

All snuffs I have tried from India (about 5) have a “dung note”. I can’t seem to get past it. I think there are certain parts of the world where that scent is a bit more ubiquitous, thus unnoticed by it’s inhabitants. They probaly think we smell funny, too.

Wasn’t a fan of Dholakia Plum Cake: it was, to my nose at least, a bit like snorting a cherry cough drop or a spoonful of NyQuil, minus the relaxing effect: very medicinal, artificial, and entirely unpleasant. I’m more often disappointed than disgusted. My trade pile is growing.

@basement_shamen funny enough, i have snuffed in the restroom of HomeDepot. Neglected to smell the urinal cakes however. Daholakia Black reminds me of stepping in a fresh pile of dog poo, still great stuff for some.

Rose Chocolate isn’t disgusting it is obnoxiously cloying. The scent stays with you 16+ hours from one small pinch and every snuff after has no effect dissipating the scent.

Smell: Toque Absinthe. Drip: Anything with the Dholakia base makes me want to vomit. I still use tons of it, but the drip is just acrid and gag-inducing. Smells great but bad use: Poschl Sudfrucht. Smells fruity and chocolaty, like a good desert snuff. In the nose it feels like potting soil. All around: My DIY snuff. F&T Seville almost made me wretch although some people really like it. Its really great that there are so many styles/scents with snuff and there is something for everybody.

I have mixed feelings about Seville. Right out of the tin, it can be quite nice. After a couple of days in the box, it’s like sniffing orange flavored chalk: damned awful.

I’m not going to say its “disgusting”…but I cant decide if Toque Berwick Brown is something I can get used to. It doesn’t make me wretch, but it doesn’t make me want to carry it with me in my rotation either. Methinks I’ll trade it out…

Man! I was taking a heap off the end of my pen knife when I read this…my keyboard is now totally covered in snuff! It’s gone between the keys and everywhere - this is gonna have to be a vacuum cleaner job X_X

Man I love that earthy dung scent, must be part of growing up in the south and working on farms throughout high school, I really can’t get enough of it.

@horus92 You know, it isn’t all “barnyard” I dislike: I find NTSU to be very enjoyable. Might be I like “barnyard” whereas I dislike “poo”. lol

Yeah, the NTSU’s and Taxi’s of the world are different than D. Black, for example. I can handle the South African’s so far, not the D. Black or D. Medicated, but the sparrows work fine for me. Go figure… different strokes, etc, etc.

I haven’t found a disgusting one yet but I am taking notes on the explanations of the ones in this thread to avoid.
