Hi all homesnuffmakers! I’m looking for some device to grind my own snuff from Virginia raw tobacco into something similar as De Kralingse coarseness as the ‘Macuba’ or A/P… I would really appreciate if someone of You enthuastics would give me a tip of the best kind of grinder as I only have run my homemade snuff through a tobaccomill for pipe/cigarette size a couple of times but it ends up too coarse?
Check out this thread From what I’ve read, a ball mill is the best way to go. A rock tumbler is a form of ball mill.
I found a coffee grinder like this in a thrift store for a fiver: 
It worked really well, but you need to sieve the flour for uniform result. I used a kitchen sieve like this: 
I only did a couple of batches because I found the shop bought so much better.
id say a ball mill would be best, id love to try it myself.
Perhaps a rasp or mortar and pestle which are the traditional ways. A nutmeg grater could work as a rasp. This would require that tobacco be in the form of a carrotte. A good burr type coffee mill may also work. Good ones can produce Turkish grind coffee so would be suitable for most any grind of snuff. I tend to shy away from the blade grinders as shown. They basically beat the material to death and cause it to heat up. Most connoisseurs will not use them for coffee. But they do work.

The best thing would be to buy yourself a windmill.
@basement_shaman! Serious gear really! If I can afford it I’ll buy it. I’ve even thought of making my own Chew from this wonderful Virginiatobacco that I posess without any cost…should I then mix the tobacco with some kind of melasses or syrup?

@Ivan!! God damned!! I made the fucking Greatest Chew with the instructions showed in the clip You shared! I took apple juice and reduced it in a frying pan and then I added date syrup and blended the mix and added a whole heap of Heavenly Virginia raw tobacco into it and let it suck up the ‘juice’ and after a couple of days I tasted the result - Oh, Jesus, Buddha and Krishna, it is The Best Chew I’ve Ever have tasted and the nichit is like an African Elephants kick right in the face, Yeah!! :D/ Thank You @Ivan!!!
