What is in Spanish Gem?

I’ve just tried Toque’s Spanish Gem and I think I’m looking forward to a long and happy friendship. I’d really like to know what’s in it though. I’ve tried to find out from a cursory internet search and honey comes up rather a lot, which I can believe. I’m not getting the fruitiness though. There seems to be something vanilla like or caramel possibly. Does anybody actually know what’s in it? Is it a big secret of Toque’s?

I’ve heard there’s tonquin in it, which could be the cause of the vanilla scent or just a complement to it. It is one of my favorites as well and I’ve heard of fruitiness to it but I don’t think I’ve ever really experienced that myself.

Its weird cuz I’ve been using it for a few months and about a week ago I started to get a cherry afternote. Not sure if its just me but I never noticed it before last week

Gems from Spain what else could it be. Geez next you’ll ask us what’s in Toque cherry. Though I should be more tolerant considering that for some reason their grape scented snuff is called champagne while not having a bit of French soil in it.

The big secret is Spanish Jewel, an amazing home made snuff smuggled out of the old world that quite a few of us were able to try including Roderick. A very inspirational snuff.

Fine ground tobacco scented with exotic honey made from the flowers of the tree of knowledge found in the garden of Eden. Turn west at the land of nod. Then look for the serpent, it will lead you to the tree. But don’t eat of the fruit or you will relies your naked.

looks like juxtaposer already beat me to it

Very funny guys. Thanks. I didn’t realised there were so many creative ways of saying ‘i don’t know’.

Spanish brandy has been hinted at. I’m sure of honey and vanilla though.

What a jumbled review. I need to edit myself better…dee de dee… Well, I felt the history needed to be part of the review. I probably could have said something more boblike like “complex in its own simplicity!” That bulk is much less than 100g now, probably down to the last 20 now! So how is that maturing version doing Roderick?

Spanish Gem is a wonderful snuff - elegant, deep, smooth; everything you wish for in a snuff. Pure class.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn’t mind a Spanish Gem with more of the musk, maybe a limited run?

More of the musty/sweaty aroma, rather? No mus k please.

Yep, that too

I get chocolate, honey, and maybe some nutmeg? and something else I just can’ t pinpoint. That is if my sample is truly spanish gem, I will have to compare when my order comes in.
