What do you do with snuff in a small box that has dried out and lost its scent ?

Do you guys throw away bland snuff, and just get some fresh stuff and enjoy, or do you just bang it up your nose and get through it ?

I have the worst snuff box ever…its just an old wilson sp no 1 box with a bit of a crack in it…and if i put a few grams of snuff in there for a couple of days it dries out and loses most if not all of its potency, I am tempted to just bin it… but throwing away snuff seems quite difficult for me to actually do.

I’ve had some success reviving flat snuff by getting some moisture back into it. I just hold the lid of whatever I am trying to hydrate over the spout on my kettle while it’s steaming a bit, and then put the lid back on. Usually in about 2-3 hours the snuff is in better shape.  If you are going to bin it anyway, hydrating is worth a shot.

Misting with fine spirits works well. I prefer cognac or whiskey. You can buy little bottles for spraying perfume. Spray the top of the snuff, mix it up, and repeat. Do this patiently as adding too much at once will cause clumping. Then let it sit in a sealed container for a while. Air it out if the alcohol is too heavy for you.

I rehydrated that snuff…it moistened up nicely but still lost most of its punch…it was less than 5 grams so i binned it…from now on that wont be happening again…im keeping everyting in tight screw lid jars…and transfer little bits out into jars to use daily…and maybe put a tiny bit in a snuff box if i go out.like 2 grams.

If snuff gets dry, I hydrate it. If it gets bland, I will mix in a stronger scented snuff to liven it back up. Snuff only gets thrown in the bin here if it contains menthol or has gone mouldy.
