For all you snuff box users, whats your favourite and what are you using at the moment? For me, a pinch of snuff is just not the same unless its taken from a nice snuff box. Currently being used is a Victorian silver box sniped from ebay for the miraculous price of £16. The price differences between ebay and collectors sites are incredible. Google antique silver snuff boces and you will get a site where they sell from £200 way upwards. Ive also recently got a House of Lords table snuff box. Very heavy duty and dual compartment with the H.o.L portcullis and crown emblem. Anyone come across anyhting similar before?
I’m using my usual, day in day out wooden box this morning: It’s a bit battered, has a pinned and glued repair of a split (you can see the ends of the brass pins on the right of the box - I fixed it about a year ago) and it tends to live in the pocket of my work trousers. Because it’s so battered I don’t mind if it takes more knocks in my pocket. I’ll be using something smarter in the pub tonight though. I’ve nothing like your House of Lords box. Possibly my most unusual box is this double ended one, made of some heavy base metal:
The clover one is nice, I have its twin brother. Its nice to have an old battered one that doesn’t matter if it gets knocked about. The double compartment one is unique, never seen anything like it. A very nice, unusual piece.
On my desk top full of Levi Garrett is this candle snuffer.
I have a beautiful oval brass box sitting on my desk. It was sent to me, with love, by a pretty young lady who lives in London, loves Rooster and plays in a band. I doubt whether any one of you know her!! I use 3 Patrick boxes filled with SP, HDT and US Scotch and when I go out, one of them accompanies me. For the rest I use Taxi or Roderick 10g tins.
I always use the little wooden snuffbox I bought from Patrick last year, it’s great :o)
I use the Toque tins and Nicotine Rush smash boxes, 3 Patrick boxes: African Mahogany, Oak & Zebra wood, an antique walnut snuffbox lined with (faux?) tortoiseshell, a maple snuffbox that I got from Mr Snuff (a little large for my pockets, so it’s my desk snuff box at home), a clumsily customised Robby’s box (it now reads ‘Debby’s Top Bint Snuff’ ho ho) and a brass box that is strikingly similar to Pieter’s… ahem. I’ve just received the new Patrick double compartment box (it’s a beauty), so there’s a new addition to the family. You know like when you get a tattoo, you instantly want another? I’m like that with snuff boxes.
Yep, know the feeling as Ive got a few tattoos and snuff boxes. I’ve got about 15 or so now. I loved the Patrick Collins boxes but unfortunately my first one literally dropped to bits and the second one slackened off so much its now unuseable.
I use four PC Boxes .
I pinch from the tin, not only do I not have any nice snuffboxes but I find opening a large Wilsons or F&T tin tin quick and easy. The snuffboxes I do have are for when I’m out, the pocket size made by Patrick. They’re tiny jewels, beautifully made. I just mean I don’t have any boxes suitable for table top use. The Toque tins are great for coat pocket use also.
I use the small smash boxes with a P-Touch label letting me know what is in there. Plus, I have 3 Patrick wood boxes, one is the new double box. Otherwise I pinch from the tins. I love pinching from the middle of a 200 gram bag…

I have one of these with me during the day. I keep each one for a different type of snuff.
I’m still using the silver box I won from Snuff Store last winter. I’ve been wanting to get a wooden box to use when I’m outside where it might get dropped or dirty. I’d hate to ruin my silver one.
How is the silver box from the Snuff Store? I have been thinking of splurging on one. They are expensive! Does it close tightly? Easy to use??
I am snuffing out of 2 emptied pill bottles, that I put my 2 designer blends in. They work nice, and just tap out what I want.
I’ve got some latakia 1860 in a Patrick’s Box
@bigbuyer - The silver box is great, it closes pretty tightly. However a very fine snuff, like a toast or a scotch will leak out a bit, but not enough to stop using it. Had I spent the money on it instead of winning it, it would definitely be worth it.
I have two small silver boxes, one heavy Jerusalem metal round box (my fave for at home), a Patrick box. I sometimes just carry a tin around as well. But today, I’m snuffless, fighting off a cold. Maybe I’ll take some menthol later, I dunno, I’m pretty “gummed up”. lol Netipot, here I come.
I reused some emptied Wilsons of Sharrow cans, and put my Taxi red, and blue, and Wilson(SA) menthol in them.
