I use: - Skoal Wintergreen Longcut - Skoal Wintergreen Pouches - Marlboro Light Menthols - Pipe with variety of tobacco - Cigars - And now snuff
I used to smoke Marlboro reds and dip Cope Straight. Now I’m on to snuffing and smoking whatever pipe tobacco suits my fancy. I will occasionally enjoy a cigar if the situation presents itself, but I don’t know much about them.
Snuff, Snus on occasion, and pipes
YES why limit yourself. Can I get it in a IV drip?
Snus, snuff, pipe almost daily. A few cans of dip and maybe 5-10 cigars a year.
Snus (ettan portions only) … and snuff (mostly Toque)
Mainly snuff, an almost daily pipe, occasional cigars, and now that I have a sample pack of Oliver twist and some more different (actually potent) twists on the way, a little bit of twist tobacco.
Generally a cigar daily, Pipe several times a week and snuff every few minutes or so…
I haven indulge in the Arabian tobaccos as yet but I think I may. Ah tobacco my favorite vegetable I chew in many forms and gut it. snuff quite often, smoke, again in many forms mostly pipes and some Macanudo hyde park cafe on occasion and I still will roll a fatty of drum or american spirit light blue ,but I am no slave to the cancer sticks thank snuff.
Ah, yes, but quality, natural cigs still have me going. Usually American Spirit organic ryo. Snuff. Dokha. Also when this stupid minor but annoyingly slow-healing mouth injury goes away completely, I’ll get back more into pipes, cigars, snus, and some twists.
Snus, snuff, pipe tobacco, cigars, and shisha.
Nobel RYO with filters and every snuff I can lay my hands upon !
Snuff and snus are my favorite ways but I am liking the pipe more and more lately. Lots of good pipe tobacco out there and tons of blend choices but still imo snuff is the ultimate for variety of tastes and flavors.
pipes and cigars on occasions. Snuff and snus mainily. On rare occasions I’ll get american chew.
snuff, snus, pipe and the occasional cigar(Havana of course)
Snuff, pipe, Havana cigars, snus/dip if someone sends me some, cadge the occasional roll-up or cigarette if the urge takes me (not often these days), redman chew when I can be bothered to find some, fresh Indian pan if I find myself in one the London areas that has pan shops - errh, is there anything else? I keep meaning to try those Indian packets tobaccos that Mr Snuff sells, and makla, but not got round to it yet.
Snuff, dip, chew, pipes, snus, cigars and maybe a cigarette or two if I’m reeaally drunk.
Snuff, pipe, and cigars.
Primarily pipes with a bit of dabbling in snuff and snus and maybe one or two cigars a year.
Snuff, pipe and the occasional cigar.
Cigarettes Dip Snus Snuff eCig Pipe rarely a Cigar I’d eat the stuff for lunch if I could. The only thing I don’t really like is the big leaf chew (i.e. Redman). It doesn’t taste bad, it just produces WAY too much juice. But it’s fun to use when I go fishing for some odd reason.
Dip Chew Dry Snuff (oral and nasal) sometimes a pipe
Mostly snus and snuff, occasionally a pipe. Once every few months I’ll roll up a cigarette, but those are getting fewer and farther between.
pipe, snuff, dhoka, a rare homegrown and rolled cigar.
Hate to further show my ignorance @Mouse, but what is dhoka?
@stogie, it’s an Arabic pipe tobacco, traditionally smoked in a tiny two puff pipe called a medwakh. It’s not fermented, just sun dried quickly, so is high-nic.
Thanks @Mouse I don’t think I have ever heard of this. Cool
Some folk here referred me to medwakh.com- no regrets. They have sample size bags of dokha and cheaper medwakhs(pipes) which are newbie-friendly, they’ve done well by me!
Snuff for a whole day and pipe with strong N tobacco in the evening or at night.
THX @Mr. O!
What do you got?
@Mouse and Mr. O, quite a few blends and flavors of dokha on that site… is there a “standard” that you can recommend for a newbie?
Stogie, my pleasure! Scurvy-lemme think about that, but I will say that there are quite a few unflavoreds that imo don’t differ to an extreme degree. I have some favorite flavored ones too, how do you feel about fruity flavors?
It depends, I suppose. I enjoy citrus flavors, but not so much berries… and I don’t like fruity flavors all the time, need to be in the mood for them.
I’ll double check some names so that I don’t confuse one with another. There is one new to me that has some nice citrus tones(I’ll post the name when I’ve confirmed it). There are some grape ones -a couple I’ve tried aren’t bad. There are some mixed fruit ones that are nice, as well as some more floral, some with spice/herb notes, some with chocolate, vanilla or mint. What I can do is give you my opinion on any that I’ve tried which is quite a few but far from most- maybe 15 to 20? Do pay attention to the harshness levels, probably would be best to order some “cool” and some “warm”- the “hot” can be too much even for heavy smokers of strong cigs. I found the “Joseph Rida Cold” to be a good start for an unflavored blend. I guess a good step up in strength would be “Let’s Go”, also “Bassem’s Blend” would be in the medium range, and just slightly flavored (I think just a touch of cocoa or something). Any more info on which kind of flavors you think you’d like?
I prefer the unflavored ones, warm or hot. Once they sent me a free sample of a chocolate blend and it put me off–very chocolate, so much so that I had to assume it was artificial flavoring, and dyed bright pink, not something I care to smoke; don’t know about the fruit flavored ones. The unflavored ones have a lot of similarity. At the moment I’m smoking Indihash al Sabah (warm) and like it a lot.
For Dokha recommendations I’d suggest Nice Dreams, Bin Khumery VIP, Indihash Al Kobra & Majnoon Wasat, if you’re interested in a plain tobacco dokha. Smaug’s Breath, Omm, Old Toby & Grey Wizard if you’re interested in a flavored dokha. Nice Dreams is far and away the best selling dokha at my shop; if you’re not sure where to start, it’s hard to go wrong with Nice Dreams.
Thanks for the tips everyone! Now, to wait for payday…
For over two years it was snuff and only snuff. Then I slipped up and ordered some cigars… I had no idea. Hooked again!
Mr. Nose- hows the Old Toby? I’m curious partly because the Grey wizard and Smaug’s Breath are tasty but a bit too intense to smoke all the time for me. I really like the Dunedain’s Sweet Galenas(sp?) a lot! Also like the Mokh Matohn. Just tried the Bin Khumery Audi- found it nice, is the VIP similar? Is the Nice Dreams a more or less typical unflavored?
@Mr. O: Old Toby is vanilla flavored dokha with a medium bite. If you like Denedain’s, you’ll probably get along with the Old Toby. I can’t comment on the Audi or what is similar to it, I haven’t had it yet. Nice Dreams is a fairly typical unflavored dokha, but it is extremely well balanced and enjoyed by all.
Ah, yes, sounds good, thank’s! They’re not kidding about the Dunedain’s having a different taste before and then after exhale too. Also liking the Hamud Infijar(sp?)- nicely citrusey… I found the Audi to be nice and pretty smooth, not too different either, but good. I want to try the Mister, I think it’s a Josef Rida- sounded good anyways. Maybe someone will set up an English speaking dokha review site. Happy tobaccing folks!
Snuff and makla mostly. Smoke Cuban cigars and roll ups occasionally. Maybe hookah too later, found out places to get pipes, tobaccos, coals etc here in Dublin with minimal effort, so that’s coming next.
Chew, snus, dip pouches and snuff.
Unfiltered cigarettes (which I’m quitting soon), nasal snuff, oral scotch snuff, twist, plug, snus, dip, occasional pipe, bidis when I can find them.
The occasional Hookah, Snuff daily. I have had the opportunity to smoke a lot more hookah lately since my eqyptian mates found out i’m so fond of it.
Snuff and pig tail for me.
Aside from snuff, I also enjoy pipe tobacco, shisha, and RYO (either loaded straight into a clay pipe or as it meant to be as a cigarette)
what you got that isn’t a cigarette? I’ll try.
I snuff all day and night. Use snus 2/3 times most days Smoke pipes regularly but out of pipe tabacco atm
I’ve got some Dokha on the way too so I’ll add that to the list
I’ve got some Dokha on the way too so I’ll add that to the list
Neat stuff. What kinds did you get?
@Scurvy. I ordered the starter kit with 3 small size bottles. Nice dreams @ mr nose’s recommendation ,let’s Go, and majnoon wassat. I’m hoping they arrive tomorrow and I’ll do a quick initial thoughts review on them.
@ItsMajick, cool let me know what you think of them. I got the 2 bottle starter and they were nice enough to also send me a little baggie sample along with my order. I like the stuff, tastes decent and killer nic buzz. Kinda takes your breath away a lil bit, so don’t freak out and hyperventilate
Lol @Scurvy. I’m really looking forward to getting them. What blends did you get?
Old Toby’s, Indihash al Kobra, and a lil baggie of Yousef Rida. I think they’re all pretty similar, look and taste a lot like tea to me. I don’t really get the vanilla flavor with Old Toby, but I do notice some sweetness to it.
Cool. Good stuff bro. I’ll let ya know what I think of the ones I ordered
Used to roll Three Castles cig tobacco but not sure that is still available here in the “new world” very nice, golden fine cut. Funny, had to buy good Virginian tobacco from the UK ?? Drum was nice also but a little harder on the throat.
three castles was great. I would actualy smoke a three castles if I found a pack. Used to be one of my favorite rollies of all time.
I dip stoker’s wintergreen and natural long cut, smoke a pipe, and use nasal snuff.
Pipes, cigars and now snuff.
Pipes 4-5 times throughout the day and early morning hours. I snuff 2-3 grams daily.
Snuff and the occasional Grov or Skruf Portion. Copenhagen on road trips and very rarely a cigarette for old time’s sake.
I smoked cigarettes for about 20 years, all sorts of brands. I quit a few times, taking up pipe and cigars. I was smoking a pack of Newport 100s a day and now that I’m 40 and have periodontal disease (lost two teeth) I quit again. I’m on the 7mg patch and using snuff, and loving it! When my mouth heals a little bit I will probably take the pipe back up but for now, just snuff.
Since i started snuffin, i snuff, snus, and smoke MAYBE 3cigs a day mostly in the am when i wake up, or a few cloves when im drink scotch with my friends -stay snuffed my friends
Kahlis bidis …mmmm wish i could geti the ones my friend broufgt me back from india…those kicked ass /
Is there a major difference in the american snus(camel is all ive tried) and ones from other parts of the world?
No more cigs, so it’s just been snuff the last week and a half. Though I have been looking to get back into occasional dipping, but it’s not something I’m jonesing for so I guess if it pops into my head when I’m at the store, I’ll pick up some Cope or something. We’ll see if I can even remember. But, right now it’s just snuff all day and night and I couldn’t be happier.
I currently use Nasal Snuff(sporadically at the present), Whole Leaf for cigarettes(i know, i know), Pipe pretty reguarly presently(that changes from time to time), i have a whole tote of Hokah stuff(i take it out every now and then), chew and dip on occasion(living the US i can not justify not), Snus when time does not allow for something else(or a runny snuff nose is contra-indicated. Oh and Gutka, although that i can taste for days.
Snuff, pipe (a handful of bowls a week) and the very occasional cigar from my small humidor (I just like the idea of those nice sticks sitting there for whenever the fancy takes me).
@dvsfaust: American snus tends to be sweeter and have a much lower nicotine level than their European counterparts. The American companies don’t want to you to make the switch from cigarettes and so they offer a pretty unimpressive product and give American consumers the notion that snus isn’t going to help them switch. Get European snus, or don’t bother.
yeah the european snus is way better. In everyway. For one it makes cigarettes look like they’re for children.

I just placed an order for some General, Ettan and Goteborgs. Should be here Thursday, I was surprised that I could get UPS Express shipping, pretty excited to try them out. And I’m not using the portioned versions, I’m going for the loose since that’s how I preferred dipping way back when.
Yeah ive noticed with camel snus its pretty useless as far as nic is concerned, half the time when i first tried them i would put one in, and light a cig lol, seems like more of a flavor thing then a nic fix. May have to give th euro ones a try, just never been big on tobacco in the mouth, i see alot of ‘dippers’ here in iowa with waaaay nasty teeth lol
The only american snus worth it is Skoal, and its nothing compared to european.
Mostly snuff and unfortunately cigs have gotten their ugly grip on me again. have stuck with the ryo and only use the stuff that got labeled as “pipe tobacco” when the ryo got hit with the overnight 2000% tax increase (went from $1.28/pound to nearly $30/pound) a few years back. keeps the cost at $1 a pack, which is good financially, but bad because it’s so easy to keep on smoking them. I haven’t met a form of tobacco I don’t like. I don’t prefer cigars but will smoke one if offered. Don’t ever buy dip, chew or snus but always jump at the chance if a friend has some. Haven’t been smoking the pipe much lately. But I think that’s what led me back to smoking cigs. Started smoking it more and more, and inhaling it more and more, until I said what the heck might as well smoke cigs. I hate them and want to quit again but the ugly bastards won’t let me go.
snus is way gentler on the teeth and gums. For one it actualy seems to whiten the teeth a bit. Secondily I’ve been snusing heavily for years and have less damage to my gums then from my occasionaly use of dip, it’s actualy really really obvious.
Snuff only. I used to smoke a pipe occasionally, but havent in months now, never smoked a cig. Started with snuff at 16, so never really got into anything else. I snuff about 6-10g a day I think, about what fills a Sharrow slide top box, but it varies.
Moist Snuff Dry Snuff Snus Twist Chew Cigars have not smoked my pipe in a loooong time.
My list is just like dakotas’ minus the cigars
I smoke a pipe, Snuff, and occasionally dip/snus.
Been dipping on Cope Straight a bit lately. Probably the only dip I’ll use ever again (except their original), just because I don’t want to dip much, just here and there. Can’t really get into the Swedish Snus yet, it’s not bad, but I prefer Cope and if I’m not going to dip anything often, I’d like to enjoy it as much as possible.
I smoke pipe tobacco, dokha, ryo cigarettes, snus about twice a day, and a newbie to snuff. I like being able to choose between cigs, snus or snuff during the day (depending on where I am at any given time) , with pipe tobacco or dokha as an after breakfast treat and for winding down in the evening.
Everything except snus or dip Marlboro Red smokes, good cigars, different pipe tobacco types & snuff
So @MatteFox, what qualifies as ‘good’ cigars in your opinion?
Snus, snuff, and occasionally dip. I’ve lost all desire to light tobacco on fire although I love the smell of pipe tobacco.
@stogie First let me start off by saying that a good cigar is like reading a good book, it has a beginning, a middle and a end. I like a mine to 48-52 ring in size and love them to be no longer than 5.5" Currently in my humidor I have a couple cuban’s (good thing the are small lol) Ashton Cabinet Diamond Crown Perdomo Reserve Cabinet series and Still have 5 Macanudo Vintage 1997’s I try to keep at least 45 cigars in my humidor at all times
I modified the humidor with a oasis humidifier and circulating fans
-a variety of cigars -Marlboro reds -any flavored dip -and now snuff but im sticking to snuff and cigars from now on
-Snus: only 1 tin of general a while back and of course camel frost (eww) -Pipes: Pipes are probably my main form of tobacco consumption. I own a few fairly nice pipes, my favorite being a stanwell I bought off ebay. My favorite blends are the Boswell aromatics, Dunhill Nightcap, Squadron Leader, and BCA/VBC. Still a lot of blends I’d like to try, but for now I’ll just smoke what I have. I especially like Boswell Christmas Cookie and Raspberry cream as far as aromatics are concerned. -Snuff: New to snuff, but I enjoy it a lot already. May end up smoking my pipe less now that I’ve discovered snuff. Its probably a healthier mode of consumption. -Cigarettes: I’ve smoked a pack or two of Nat Shermans in the past, they’re ok but I don’t really like to smoke them. When I do smoke cigarettes I don’t inhale very much, its just not worth it. I’m interested in trying out some Kreteks again though, smoked a few in the past. -Chewing Tobacco/Dip: Never tried it, doesn’t really appeal to me but I’d be willing to try it at a least once. -Cigars: Only smoke a cigar once per year, on new years with my brothers and Dad… They’re good for lighting off fireworks. Prefer pipes. Update: now I have stopped smoking pipes and started using snuff and snus instead. Snus is probably my main form of tobacco consumption nowadays with snuff being a close second.
in order 1. snuff 2. cigars- celebratory 3. shisha
Snuff, Pipe, Cigars & not quite through with cigarettes but working on it. I would guess that I do any tobacco products with the exceptions being Dip or Snus. Tried both and they are not for me
Snuff, snus, and Makla.
Snuff, snus, dip, shisha, and cigs. I just can’t shake the damned cigs…
Snuff and Makla. Smoke cigars and rollies occasionally. Manage perfectly on snuff only if needed.
Again i say “What have you got?” @Dogwallla i hope those are Whole Leaf cigs? Or American Spirit at the very least?
Virginia, Maryland, Burley, Turkish, Oriental, Latakia, Perique, Rustica, Glauca, Attenuata, Thuoc Lao, Y1, Cuban, Brazilian, Semois, Tombolaka, and Tombac. Air cured, Sun cured, Flue cured, Fire cured, or Uncured.
Snuff about 90% of the time, and at least one cigar a day.
@Juxtaposer seems you have all the bases covered.
Snus now being the mainstay, snuff for the condiment and a morning and evening pipe (weather permiting).
snuff, pipe and cigars
Snuff, snus, pipe tobacco, Dokha, RYO cigs. Cut down significantly on cigs since snus and snuff came into the picture…
couldve sworn i posted here before, ah well. since snuff/ particularly snus came into the picture for me, pipe and cigarette is basically out the window, probably still with the occasional cigar.
Usually snus only, but bought two White Owl cigars for a dollar last week and smoked them! lol Pretty funny, so today I am four months cigarette free, but five days smoke free! I’ll try the the little stogies again some time, it was a nice treat.
Van Nelle Zware shag as a treat throughout the day and evening (Maybe 3-5 a day), snuff, snus (1-3 a day), and a cheap Belgian tobacco called Flandria as a filler during the day and evening…trying to cut down on smoking and am gradually lessening the amount I smoke (10-15 a day now down from 40-50 when in beer-monster mode). Just love snuff and snus, but I love Van Nelle as well
Snuff and RYO smokes with D&R Windsail, Virginia tobacco. But a future ex smoker.
snuff snuff snuff. I used to be a pack every 1-2 day smoker, but now I’m at around 3-7 cigs a day. Kamel Reds are my brand. I dip almost daily because my brother dips and we share our tobacco. Skoal Straight is my favorite dip. Snus from time to time too. I love me a good pipe, but don’t have one of my own so that’s only when one of my friends is smoking one.
I’d have to say my pipe, and flake tobacco, there is something soothing about Just sitting and rubbing it out =D> and snuff, Because well, It makes me feel like a child running around the house collecting them up and stroking them maniacally, seriously though, there is a lot to be said for packing the snuff and then sitting and cleaning my pipes when I’m stressed and sad, it fixes my world
Used to smoke Marlboro Menthols, but no more. No smoking - and I feel a lot, lot better for it. Just using snuff at the moment, though if we could get it in the UK, I would use snus occasionally (mint). I may take a trip to Sweden at some point and get myself a supply.
@snuffski, do you have a problem ordering online? i use snusline for my snus and im in the uk. its also available as a really strong loose version from mrsnuff if you dot have a problem with loose or ordering there. mmm snus… ill find some of my favourite odens cold in a minute!
I have tried to quit smoking so many times over the past 15 years. I used chew, but it ate my teeth. I used patches, gum, lozenges, etc. Then I found snuff. Hallelujah! I love everything about tobacco so the reason I wasnt able to quit is that I really didnt want to. I live in the states so snuff is very hard to come by. Honestly didnt know what it was untill a few years ago. Inglourious Bastards. When Brad Pitt took a toot, that perked my curiosity. Thank you Brad Pitt. HaHaHa. :-bd . Now I used snuff pretty much exclusively. When Im waiting on my order I use an e-cig. Sometimes Ill take a hit through my nose. Ive been really wondering lately, I have some of that ecig refill fluid. I wonder if I could take some of that on my pinky and kinda rub in my nostril. Im very curious, but too scared to try it. Has anyone every given that a try?

Yes. Presumably they’re not shipping from the UK, so any import would need to be actively declared and duty paid, making it probably absurdly expensive. I’ve not looked into it particularly carefully yet, as I only gave up the smoking a few months back, but I’m in a profession where I have to be whiter than white in matters like this, so would not risk any grey imports. Do they ship from the US?
I’ve had to really cut my snus usage down as it’s just so easy to use but kills my desire for snuff and as much as I like snus, a lot, I really love snuff. So no more than 2 prillas a day for me.
@snuffski they ship from israel outside the EU, i have had no problems, and i keep my orders under £15 value (but its free shipping, so thats fine). i just put a couple of .pdf files i had saved (for my own use if any issues arose) with relevant info into a .zip folder in my dropbox public folder. hit the link at the end of this post to download it. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34703991/Snus%20tax%20info.zip maybe try northerner? @snuffyStuff me too haha.

As I suspected. Difficult to actually do fully-legally. The thing is, just because it’s been let through doesn’t mean it’s fully legitimate, it depends on how it’s declared. I would want to check the detail on that before importing, and then the duty would be a lot. I am not sure how much more/less expensive it would end up compared to buying in Sweden in person, so will have a further look. Thanks for the info though. The advantage of going to Sweden is, of course, getting a nice day trip and not paying any shipping other than your flight. What is Northerner?
I used to smoke Marlboro Reds for years then switched to L&M reds because they were cheaper. Now I snuff probably 99% of the time but i will have a clove cigar when having drinks. I have never tried Snus but there is a local store that carries General snus, may give it a shot sometime just out of curiosity.
Snuff most of the time, a pipe or cigar once a week, chewing tobacco when I’m hiking, snus on occasion though I’ll be doing it a lot more once I finally start this job. A cigarette very very occasionally, one every few months.
Only snuff. Cigarettes on the parties, but I don’t party very often. And sometimes when somebody’s sharing.
Snuff (obviously), snus, pipe tobacco (mainly English and Oriental blends), cigars, dip, and the occasional bag of loose-leaf chew; in order of preference.
@snuffski- Northerner is a website that sells snus, but im not sure of their reliability/legality getting through customs since i use snusline. i do know that giving northerner my location as UK narrows down their selection a bit, so i believe thats to minimise/avoid tax issues. they have multiple warehouses.
SNUFF, occasional snus and pipe
Snuff, Snus, Dip, and Chew. Mostly Snuff and Snus. Sometimes I will fire up a corncob pipe and smoke some Carter Hall. Sometimes will smoke a cigar, but not often.
Still waiting for a nicotine IV drip .long leaf chew, dip, malka, snus, pipe, snuff. The occasional high quality cigar, and ryo every now and then, rustica and Thuoc Lao, Koiki Kizami
I only use snuff but always wanted to try chewing tobacco just not sure whats the best one to try
I smoke cigarettes (RYO) sometimes although I’m trying to quit, just got into pipe smoking, I dip and chew sometimes as well as snus, and just started using dry/nasal snuff.
Snuff, snus portions, chew and pigtail. Before bed, a good snout full of coarse snuff.
Snuff, snus portions, chew and pigtail. Before bed, a good snout full of coarse snuff.
Everytime I snuff before bed I wake up with dry nose, and after maybe fifteen minutes after getting up, it is just suddenly watering. Haven’t you got such a problem?
@Viertel. No nose trouble in the night but I do use a course snuff. Maybe this makes a difference?
