So, what’s the weirdest or most unusual snuff you’ve tried and liked? Find a snuff that’s a bit out of the normal… share the word.
Cheese and Bacon. Absolutely nothing else like it. Ever. lol
I’ll have to say Cheese and Bacon
yuck I like cheese and bacon on my Baked Potato but never in my nose! LOL!
Got to be Cheese and Bacon but, do you have to like it? LOL!
Without a doubt C&B. Stefan
Cheese and Bacon. I loved it. So did my girlfriend, it was her first snuff lol she got sooo mad when I traded it away.
@Brandasaur You live dangerously.
The content of an Oden’s Extreme portion, nasally. Delivers poke.
I snuffed some Guarana, it was gross.
Another vote for Toque Cheese & Bacon. I flipping love this snuff.
Bayern-Prise - just for the fact that i could not believe in menthol-snuff mixed with Schmalzer before… but damn, it works!
@Ansel *grin* Yeah, the key to enjoying Guarana is the extract standardized for actives. The natural powdered seed is 90+% fiber and miscellaneous junk.
I would go with C&B if we have to like it. It’s not a frequent one in my rotation (hard to stand out in that field, as most of my tins are used about the same amount), but I like it. Might not reorder for a while after it runs out, but it’s not too bad. Weirdest flavor that I’ve tried and not enjoyed is Sam Gawith Black Coffee. Maybe I have a bad tin, but it almost tastes like mold. Not enough to concern me, and I have no reaction (I have a mold allergy, so if it was moldy, I’d be in bad shape after a couple large pinches!), but it’s just not one I enjoy.
@ sleepinggecko. That SG Black Coffee is old. If it where fresh then it would taste as near as you can get to Smith & Sons Cafe Royale
Some of my own Tom Buck pluses… Notably: Tom Buck + shreaded amber (a spice that I got at an Indian market.) The amber liquifies at body temperature. I just put some in a wooden box with my TB and let it cure, shaking occasionally. EDIT: This works especially well if you stick the box in your pocket for the day. This provides both heat and agitation. Shreaded amber is sold mostly for use as a perfume.
howdydave that sounds pretty amazing actualy.
I’ve never heard of the spice amber. Sounds exotic.
Cheese and Bacon is the weirdest snuff I have ever heard of, but the most unique that I have enjoyed would be Ganga or Kamal. I can’t get over the fact that I hate blue cheese enough to try C&B, but part of me still wants to.
howdydave that does sound delicious. Xapken google amber butter, and buy some. Five grams will last a good long while as cologne. My personal fav weird snuff is probably cheese & bacon as well, with royal George a close second.
the free pub snuff that snuffhead sent me. It was kind of shitty in a good way. (read the aristocrat snuff thread if you don’t get the joke).
Cheese and Bacon. How does one top that?
my votes in for C&B as well. though, since becoming a vegetarian, I’m no longer much of a fan of it.
Pike Mopers: One thing that you will notice after becoming a vegetarian is that a lot of meat products taste that way because of spices, breading, the way it’s prepared, etc… Idk how srsly your comment was meant. As for me, I’m a vegetarian and that’s not why I haven’t tried C&B. It is because I hate bleu cheese and bacon, so even if it sort of tasted like either, I probably wouldn’t like it. I’ll have to go with Camphor & Mild. I just tried it last week and I already want to order it in bulk. A non-menthol SP with a good dose of camphor? I can’t name another snuff that has it without menthol.
Camphor and Mild is one of my favourites. Lovely all day everyday snuff if ever there was one. Stefan
D white… i enjoy the smell even though there’s a hint of fish. I love c and b but d white is a bit stranger to me.
Yes D white is a strange beast. Painful, microscopically fine and smells like salty fish. Good stuff.
Personally, I think Royal George is quite weird… But I do like it. Please don’t flog me
I agree with MikeMoose here. Royal George is weird and fun!
@EricHill78 fishy snuff… okay you win. That is weird. @MikeMoose What is odd about it? I don’t know the blend.
Royal George IS weird. Personally, I could never stand it. And to answer xapken’s question: royal george seems to have a little bit of everything in it when it comes to scenting/flavoring. Its sort of a “kitchen sink” blend with what, I understand, are in excess of 20 different flavorings applied. As best I can remember the dominant notes are talcum powder, various floral scents, and cinnamon. Like I said, its weird.
I think that it has an odd smell… Almost like the smell of rubber… I don’t really know how else to explain it… It is a very interesting / strange snuff. And it has a cool quality about it, it warms you up on a cold day . Or maybe that’s just my brain playing tricks on me… Anyways, like I said, strange scent @tybalt : I agree, it does have a talcum powder scent as well
don’t know if it is strange or not … but i see that most prefer WoS 22, SG’s Irish D Light and F&T HDT for their toast … for me, it’s GH’s Irish D … that bit of vinegar makes it unusual … but I love it … my favorite overall snuff, hands down. though Whiskey & Honey is catching up right quick.
If you are looking for SHREADED AMBER, mine came in a little mahogony container with a screw on wooden top. The container was about the size of a Carmex (cold sore lotion) container (smaller than a smash box.) see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmex The wooden container itself makes quite a nice little screw-on top snuffbox!
@howdydave & xapken: Amber isn’t really a spice. It’s a tree resin used in perfumery. It has a lovely rich, sweet scent, similar to chocolate, but more floral. I’ve used it occasionally to make incense and scented oils, although the genuine pure resin is too expensive to use very often. When it fossilizes, it becomes the gemstone amber.
