I came across this term, “warm-weather” snuff, in a review . Because I live in East Central Florida, if there are preferred warm-weather snuffs which I haven’t tried (highly likely) I’d be very interested in knowing which ones others consider them to be. Menthols (QwS Apricot, McC O&G, Poschl Raspberry, Bernard Zwiefacher) are on MY list of warm weather snuffs, as are a few American plain Scotches ( WE, 3 Thisles, Square) and a few SP’s (Grand Cairo, Tom Buck). What do others here suggest… Edit: I’m in Palm Bay FL, just South of Melbourne…since '92.
I guess we enjoy the same climate, Z_2K. I enjoy things like Mild Lemon, Peach, SP’s, and strong menthols during the summer. Right now my favorite menthol is Hedges, might want to give that one a try. Also maybe Sea Breezes and Bon Bon would be nice in this wonderful Central Florida humidity. At least Orlando gets nice sea breeze storms.
Florals (like rose) and fruits and menthols. Nothing spicy like clove or cinnamon. At least thats my opinion.
Im in Florida too! Just outside Tampa Im going to be on a fruit snuff binge all summer…
I’ve been hitting the mints and aniseeds lately, as well as expanding my palate towards menthols. Days are getting hot here, but nights are still usually cool. I agree I’ve been drawn to rose more than normally as well. Good thing I have a half pound on the way from Sharrow and a mini drum on the way from Kendal. Today I have used: GH English Rose, GH Wild Mint, Atherthons Wild Mint, McC English Menthol, Atherthon’s Peppermint all becuase of the weather. I’ve also used 3 or 4 other snuffs today, but that’s normal. SPs and toasts are always good.
I dont know if you can find it anymore but Bespoke Gin & Tonic is very refreshing.
That is a good one, ap. I am hoping Mars restocks it soon as well as Martian Rose. The Bespokes are all 10% off there now, but nothing left but Stephan’s Tipple and Christmas Joy. Snuff Store is out of stock on all of them. I’m rationing what I have left.
I find Toque’s Cherry Menthol and WOS’s Crumbs Of Comfort is nice during warm weather thus far, although I still have lots of snuff discovering to do… Edit- Saint Augustine, FL here.
It’s kind of cool, how many FL folks are attending here. I’m in the panhandle, between Tallahassee and Pensacola, in a town called DeFuniak Springs. Warm humid weather is present for sure. What’s great about snuff is the being able to carry 10-15 different kinds around! I never once considered buying several different brands of smokes…weird. Maybe one of these days I’ll start leaning towards a favorite, for now I’m happy toting around a selection.
I live in Homestead FL. I can’t really recomend any “Warm weather” snuffs, I just started snuffing back in Dec. I usually just snuff whatever I feel in the mood for. I have a insulated lunch bag that I take to work with about 3-4 different portion snus, 4-6 lös snus and around 10 different snuffs, I like variety. =D
I’m in Surfside Fl which is just north of Miami Beach. I use scotches all day every day, hot or hotter.
I love Toque Original in warm weather. I also love Original when it’s cold, not so cold or in between. But, I also love all other snuffs, whatever the weather might be like.
Maybe I’m a bit strange, but I like W&S Princes as well as NTSU and TAXI Regular, when it’s really hot. We have a heatwave hitting us right now, which is quite unusual for us - but I’m drawn towards the darker, heavier tobaccos when it’s really hot!
After several months of using snuff, my favorite “warm weather” snuff is anything menthol. Cools me off.
menthol is niceest in summer I agree.
I’m odd I guess. I prefer menthols in the colder months. Funny that way too about pipe tobaccos – I prefer latakia blends and the like in the summer and lighter VAs and such in the winter.
5 Photo Himalaya is great when it’s hot and sticky out.
Try some Toque Coke - After you keep it your fridge… Niiice.
Mmmmmm yes on the chilled Coke.
Mostly menthols in the Summer for me, with the occasional floral and SP. Wilsons Prime Minister is my favourite hot weather snuff - minty and cooling.
