Was curious to how you guys take this hard hitter snuff. I personally take a pnch rub my fingers then taking one finger at a time a sniff it through my nose. Works great no throat hit or cough.
If you’re having trouble with fine dry scotches, you can always hydrate them a little; As they start to dry out again you will become accustomed to using larger amounts. Most important is you stay hydrated the moisture in your nose will hold the snuff in place. All snuffs require some adjustment in the pressure you use to snuff. There are various techniques for using snuff some work better than others, Enjoy your snuff anyway you’re comfortable with it.

I started with exactly that snuff, which made every snuff I’ve tried since easy! My thoughts though ate that unless you’re limited to a particular snuff by necessity, there is no teason one should have to “find a way to like” anything. Either you like it or you don’t. There’s so much to choose from!
I use the boxcar method.
There are 2 basic ways to accommodate different snuffs:
-
Modify the strength of your inhalation.
-
Change the distance (it doesn’t take a lot) between your thumbnail and your nostril.
If you remember your physics, intensity is a function of the square of the distance.
Both methods just change the force of the updraft.
W.E. Garrett Sweet was my first!

Garrett’s Scotch was pretty overwhelming for me when I first tried it maybe a month ago. Surprisingly,it’s quickly become a staple. I like big pinches of it, mostly. I will boxcar it as well. Seems like I get more smokey aroma from pinches.
An old snuffer told me to keep my mouth open when snuffing very fine grinds. Maybe that will help you also. And remember, you are not trying to breathe it in. Just sniff it.
