Vintage Snuff in Glass Jars

Hey everyone, So recently I bought a vintage snuff can off eBay. It’s a 5 oz. glass jar with the original seal, totally unopened, containing Honest Scotch (my favorite of all, which is why I bought it). It’s more of a collector thing, but out of curiosity, would the snuff inside still be usable? Especially since it’s a glass jar with the original seal?

Go for it ! Let us know how you like it. I can’t see how having a taste could be harmful ?

If its airtight it should be fine, maybe better than fine. Even if its not, it will still be safe. Maybe a little musty. Is it a cork top? Post a pic if you can.

Yes post a pic if you can , I am a big fan of all vintage stuff, never had a jar though.

@Xander‌ no it’s a really odd jar. It’s glass, but with the old metal top. I’ll post some detailed pictures when it arrives in a few.

I’m guessing this is it (You have to scroll down) LINK

@miamimark‌ yes that’s it!

Lol, I was so curious i had to look it up!

I have several, as long as the lid has not leached rust into it it is fine, Not as smokey as you find in the newer tins but still got an awesome nicotine hit. Honest has been discontinued. I say if you’re in your 20/30 save it; if you’re up in age just use it. Keep it stored in a dry environment

@basement_shaman‌ HONEST WAS DISCONTINUED??

Sorry, freaked out a little bit because I’ve been searching my town desperately for Honest but I had no idea it was discontinued. That makes me super sad. I’ll have to decant this last 5 oz. into a hermetically sealed airtight jar lol. So, a little off topic, but is it true that America scotches rarely go stale?
