Viking tins

D

I just got a 25g Viking Dark tin in the mail yesterday, but I can’t figure out how to open it.  Any advice?  Id doesn’t look like a screw-off top and I don’t want to muscle it open and have it explode everywhere.

Thanks

E

They’re vacuum sealed so you need to prize it open. I had the exact same problem

D

Oh ok.  I’ll just use a bottle opener in that case.

B

as long as you don’t use dynomite you should be fine. I use a screw driver (not philps head by the way but flathead).

Coins work pretty well. Insert into the groove and twist.

Its amazing how often this question arises. They seem pretty straightforward to me, but apparantly not.

The tin is intended to be opened using a coin. Simply insert the coin and twist, then take note of and appreciate that *whoomph* sound of opening a vacuum sealed tin, then - enjoy!

I always use my trusty pocket knife

I’ve never managed to open one with a coin. I usually shoot at them for a bit then gently force a small screwdriver up the side to break the seal

S

I use the dull edge of an old pocket knife

Just tried to open Viking Peach with a coin and didn’t get it open. I was going crazy and just had to open Ozona Spearmint what was just bad 'cause i don’t even notice the spearmint in it. Gonna find a flathead screwdriver to try on…

S

I just work a coin around the edge. Eventually it pops.

J

It took me a long time, when it did finally open it lifted right off easily. It was a real bugger for me.

swearing helps threats may be nesscary too.

I’ve opened couple tins from SG with a coin and there were no fuss with them but that viking peach was a real pain in the…
