Is there any comparison between Viking Dark and Dholakia Black? My Viking Dark order is pending while the supplies are renewed, but I’ve an earlier order that includes Dholakia Black on its way, I hope.

No comparisons that I can draw

Dholakia Black is a pretty distinctive snuff.  It’s finer than the Viking and quite oily; closer (some might say) to gunpowder than it is to Viking Dark, which is like quite a lot of other snuffs.

I got Viking Dark last week and opening the can was a son of a bugger. I worked on the lid off and on for a good half hour. Suddenly it just lifted off easy as pie. It’s fine but clumps in small clods and reminds me of Drum cigarette tobacco. Smokey smell. Like your clothes the morning after sitting at a campfire all night long. Texture is close to Dholakia Black and the color is close but that’s where the similarities end. 

They both are dark have about the same moisture content the grind on the VD is medium where the Dholakia black is a finer grind the scent is totally different .where as the DB has more of a horse stable scent the VD is leathery and has a better burn IMO.The nicotine is about the same, just the DB hits faster.

For me the lid is easier to remove by taking a coin at the seam of lid to base and twisting like a key.  Seems to work well that way.
