Viking Blonde versus SG Blue Crest

Well, to date Viking Blonde is a let down. From the tin a floury biscuit scent, and not a lot else in the nose. Whereas Blue Crest, a comparable “plain snuff” delivers a nuttiness and slightly sweet, hay like Virginia tobacco, akin to its cousin Red Crest. For plain snuffs you can’t miss with the Crests in my opinion. That said, I will persevere with Viking Blonde as I appreciate it has a fan base.

I completely agree. I can’t get enough of the Viking Dark, so I thought I’d give the Blonde a try, and I just don’t “get it.” Everyone of the Crests, however, do exactly what I want them too. That said, I think there’s something going on with Blonde that makes it not exactly a “plain snuff,” although I can’t pin it down. I’d like to think that this is one of those I can come back to later and find that I actually enjoy it - but my hopes aren’t very high.

I’ll be happy to take it off your collective hands. I like it for what it is; to me a moistened fermented toast. Biscuits, pound cake, sugar cookies (?) or somesuch. Not a star in my rotation, but I manage to damage a few along the way.

I agree with @chefdaniel‌. I like Viking Blonde for times when I don’t want a lot of heavy scent and that fits the bill nicely for me. I really enjoy the biscuit dough scent, it’s like snuff comfort food, not fancy but satisfying.

There isn’t a snuff I’ve given up on. I will come to like Viking Blonde if my experiences with Old Paris and SG Kendal Brown are anything to go by.

I totally agree, the first couple of pinches of SG black coffee were awful to me. After a couple of days I picked it up again and to my surprise found it full of flavor and extremely moreish.

My post was pointless. I deleted it. Lol!
