Vetiver Snuff?

I’m brand new to this hobby, so I don’t know the genres yet, other than by reading a quick overview. I just know that I’m very excited to try some flavors, for instance McChrystal’s Clove, since I love the smell of cloves. I also love the smell of vetiver – its raw, moist earthiness. It’s a common element in perfume (not that I’m into perfume (not that there’s anything wrong with that)), and I was just wondering if there’s a snuff containing this particular scent. I’d be surprised to get a response in the affirmative, but one can hope…

Never heard of vetiver, can you liken it to something we may be familiar with?

Don’t know of any, but you could try some of the Indian snuffs like Dholakia or Sun, they have very comlex blends in their perfumed snuffs. I just got some Dholakia black that, to me, has the raw moist earthiness, I have no idea what they perfume it with though. Other, non vetiver, raw moist earthies to try are Fribourg and Treyer Santo Domingo or some of the more plain schmaltzers from Bernards like Alt Offenb Kostlich. I have also been told that some of The South African snuff like, NTSU, Taxi and Babaton have a moist earthiness to them but have not tried them yet.

"Never heard of vetiver, can you liken it to something we may be familiar with? " Decaying magnolias growing out of moldy locker room socks on rich jungle soil after a summer sunshower on a very hot day. That’s as close as I can characterize it. Thank you, khalid & Filek for your suggestions. I’ll be sure to check them out with my next order.

what is vetiver seems as though you might be able to find the essential oil and scent your own snuff with it BUY IT HERE

“seems as though you might be able to find the essential oil and scent your own snuff with it” I see I stuff to learn. I have the oil. Is there a standard neutral snuff one can scent? How does one scent it? I’m sure that information exists elsewhere, so a simple link would suffice. Thanks.

HERES A GOOD LINK to the topic of flavoring/scenting your own snuff

Thanks, snuff_n00b. That led to another good one here.

If someone came up with a Vetivert/Sandalwood Snuff, I’d probably buy loads of it. In India, Vetivert is called Khusa. It’s used for everything from incense to ice cream flavouring. Bharath Darshan is an old favourite incense of mine that’s heavy on Vetivert. Very relaxing stuff indeed.
