Using snuff during fasting

Fasting refers to not eating (water fast ) and in some cases, also not drinking water (dry fast) for a prolonged period of time. In this post I am not writing about intermittent fasting, but most things here also apply to intermittent.

I’ve began doing water and dry fasts when i was still smoking ciggaretes, for health and weight loss. I don’t think that that smoking is a good idea while fasting , it caused nausea and head pains for me.

With snuff however, the experience is much better.

Snuff contains nicotine and other alkaloid which suppress apetite, making a big difference in the first days in the transition to ketosis. I actually combine snuff with coffeine powder, making hunger practically inexistent. Coffeine powder deserves a post on it’s own.

What makes nasal snuff unique in aiding with fasting is that i doesn’t make contact with the mouth, so no triggers for eating can be made this way. The nose seems to be less runny and cloggy, perhaps due to lower inflammation levels overall.

I am actually at the moment in my second day of a dry fast and I can believe how there is no hunger and no thirst, only using air and snuff(and some coffeine powder in the morning).

Also the high from snuff and coffeine is perceived stronger and somewhat different, in a good way. The effects of both are mixing with the increased perception from the ketosis, resulting in a different kind of feeling.

I know that fasting is a niche activity in most communities, but if you use snuff and fast, please share your experience!

Nice, I will wait till the next Easter to try this!

As for losing weight, I am sure you already know it but, I heard from so many people that “intermittent fasting” is working best for losing weight. Obviously a dry fasting is gonna be more powerful. Just adding my two cents.

Cheers

O yes, there are so many layers to time-restricted feeding. It worked wonders for me(especially longer periods >48h++). One of those layers is autophagy, it sharply increases during water fasting and more so on dry ones. This process is like recycling body cells, I find that my joints are way more flexible during this time, among many other effects. Another layer is hormonal changes, including increased testosterone and decreased insulin. This is a noice video about fasting 75 Hour Dry Fast: Results, Process, Aftermath - YouTube. Jason Fung also does a great job at explaining fasting.

Do your on research guys! But I always say this, what will happen if you do not eat for let’s say , two days? Die of starvation? C’mon, let’s be serious :)))))))

I take the opportunity while fasting to abstain also from snuff.
I find that a good fast is cleansing, it certainly helps to rope in those pesky withdrawal symptoms.
