I was wondering if anyone else out there used out-of-the-ordinary ways to take their snuff, aside from pinching, or the back of the hand, or any other conventional means. I, for in stance, sometimes use my long pinky-finger nail, which I have grown out, to take my snuff with. I figured if it was good enough for '70s style cocaine dealers, it was good enough me. Anyone else do this, or use other odd techniques?

Well, I like to stand on my head and have someone pour it in! j/k. There are some interesting contraptions for sale at Rajek’s (check the list of stores in the FAQ) to get snuff into you. Most of them are novelties, also the Swiss company Breeze has a fun device. I haven’t tried any of these things though. @squarefind: What’s Tin lip?
@Xander: they did eventually do beer bongs, huh? I’m sorry about that Tin lip confusion, I think the longer explanation is: two parts to a tin. Top & Bottom. Bottom holds baccy, Top has no content. Top’s apron=tin lip
i discovered just a few days ago, that since i don not care for a bullet too much it works out just dandy to drop a pinch worth in a cap on a dholakia refill and sniff straight from the cap.
@ Squarefind: so you sniff off of the lip of the tin? Like a Wilson’s type tin?
I think the most unusual method I use is a bullet…not exactly ‘out there’!
@Xander: yeah. Toque’s probably the safest. rounded-out. but my “insuflators” can probably pick it up from an inch away.
With Scotches and Toasts, I hold my breath and chuff the snuff into the old hooter. With more coarse grinds, I simply sniff, as though I were smelling a flower. As a relative newbie, I continue to experiment.
I hold my tin, with my thumb over the tin. I scoop snuff on my thumb, and lift tin and thumb to my nose to sniff. Any spillage goes right back into the tin.
@Carol You obviously have good steady hands. If I tried that, the contents would end up in my lap! 
There was a guy on snuson last year or so, said he had no arms. I thought for sure he would be snuffing off his foot by now. I invited him over here to the snuffhouse. I said we would be happy to give him a hand. NoArmsJames was his handle. Never heard from him since. (edit) F**k me! I just looked this dude up and he has no legs either. Man…I suck! That would have been so cool (the foot pinching thing).
I have used the top of a Wilson’s tin to snuff from when my hands were grubby. I often use a packet knife blade for those instances most of the time. Recently, I’ve been offering snuff to some local Pakistani store clerks who own a convenience store nearby. Some of them simply hold their palm open and sniff from the middle of their empty up-turned hands. They are experienced Indian/Pakistani snuff users and this seems to be their excepted technique for taking snuff.
When I snuff something that is very fine and likes to stick to my fingers, like JH Wilsons SP No. 1, I use a small teaspoon, as I don’t have a special snuff spoon. Recently I also started to use my Jack Daniel’s guitar pick as I have it on hand more often than a spoon.
I sometimes use the flat part of a pipe nail. They are cheap (if you loose one) and easily available.
biskup666 That is a GREAT idea. I am never without guitar picks, and seriously the thought never occurred to me once.
Nice idea Nachman, I might try it as I have had to cut off my long pinky-finger nail that I used to use. i would use guitar picks, but i loose them to often, and prefer finger-pickin’ myself most of the time.
Hmm… I wonder if I could attach a snuffbox to my guitar somehow…
Sfingle I also prefer finger picking, nevertheless I have a pick pretty often with me, actually rather in order to use it for snuff 
zonesix I never thought about it earlier, but maybe you could somehow attach a little pocket to your guitar strap to fit a small snuffbox in there… The idea just came into my head.
@ biskup666 & Sfingle:I play too; I wear a waistcoat that has pockets big enough to fit a PC snuff box in. Sometimes I leave an open box on top of my amp on stage and just take a pinch from there when I need to.
