Have you ever noticed this scent in snuff? Once in a while I get a blast of this especially from the dregs on on the side of can of Toque whiskey and Honey. As much as I love TWH I wish I had a snuff that did that all the time! In case you don’t know what I mean I’m referring to the essential taste of dip like skoal wintergreen or cherry, that blends nicely with the toppings and just smacks of tobaccer. If you ever tried a ‘Natural’ dip, this is the flavor they are trying to emulate.

I still need to learn more about what the umami taste actually is. Distinct enough from savory to be called a separate taste I presume. or is it the more accurate replacement for “savory”?

Poschl Perlesreuter has that Umami scent … almost like soy sauce.

Definitely think I get this receptor flavor when enjoying Stocker’s Natural fine cut.
